View Options – Customize
One of the things that is unique to the new Vendio platform is the ability to customize based on your business needs. This ability to customize has also been brought into the create items process.
I remember when I first started selling on eBay – the listing form was one page and you could churn out listings as fast the eBay system would let you (and that is a totally different story). Over time, the “SYI” form has evolved to a much larger and harder to use experience.
With the new Vendio Platform, we put the control back in your hands. You can eliminate fields that you don’t use and create profiles that “save” reusable data. You will find you save a lot of time not bypassing fields you don’t use as you can remove them. What I found interesting was that I have been making a lot less mistakes – since only fields that I use are visible, I never “missed” a field. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve gotten error messages because I forgot to enter the price or some other piece of data. The new Vendio Platform makes listing much more pleasant for me. I do not like listing items, it’s the one area about selling online that I just did not enjoy. Using the new Vendio Platform, has me reversing my position. I’ve actually been enjoying listing items. In part, I think it is because I only have the fields I use and I don’t make mistakes that slow the process to a crawl.
There are 8 sections on the Create Items page and each is customizable. Above is section for Item Info (which is the core information about your item). Open each section by using the “view options” (gear button) on the left and selecting only those fields that you want visible when creating your items. Click Save to remember selections.
Inherit from Item Info
Another unique aspect of Create Items is the ability to “Inherit” data from the Item Info section and use it on multiple markets. For example: When you fill in your title in the Item Info section, its “inherited” into the eBay, Amazon and Store areas. Of course, the inherited title can be overridden. But this makes it so there is reason to ever type anything twice, even for multiple markets.
Tips and Tricks:
If you have removed a field using “view options”, but want to use it for an item, simply click the “view options” button and add it for that particular item. For example, if you rarely use subtitles, turn it off until you want to add a subtitle, then click view options and add subtitle to the one item. There is no need to leave rarely used fields visible – you can always access them by clicking on the view options button (gear button).
When information is inherited from core, you can remove it from view in other subsequent areas without removing it from your listing. For example, you can remove “title” in the view for eBay, Amazon and Vendio Store as once you type your title in Item Info, you don’t need to see it again for each market.
Create Profiles (Items>Profiles) before you begin creating items. Creating these “data sets” ahead of time will save a lot of time. Any profile created will be available in a drop down menu in the corresponding section. This will be a big time saver. As you gain more experience, you’ll find many ways to make profiles work to your advantage and save a TON time.
