People are on vacation, they’re saving money for back-to-school items, and they’re just plain taking it easy. But taking advantage of holidays and observances is a great way to tap into what’s happening in your customers’ lives. Change things up for your sleepy customers! Some holidays are widely celebrated and some observances are a bit quirky and fun. Using the below is a great way to show  sense of community, sense of humor, and creativity. Either way, they can all be great for blog post ideas, social media posts, creating product promotions and more. These are great opportunities to have sales, giveaways, and just a lot of fun with your customers. Make the rest of the summer fun for them and lucrative for YOU!

  1. Get creative – have fun with it. Think of how you can use these holidays for your social media updates, videos, blog posts, product promotions, email newsletters and more. Here are some ideas:
  2. Have a Facebook contest relating to a holiday, such as International Left Handers Day by asking leftys to like a post – then choose a winner at random and send them a gift!
  3. Ask Twitter followers to tweet to you their favorite left handed celebrity – winner gets a free gift. Promote on your blog, via email and on Facebook.
  4. Make a video for Fresh Breath Day, or Patriot Day and share it with your fans.
  5. Depending on your products, choose your favorite “Self Improvement” product and have a discount on it for September.
  6. Cosmetic companies can do a lot with lip gloss on “Kiss and Make Up Day”
  7. Talk like a Pirate Day – make a video with a pirate hat or ask customers to send pirate messages for a prize.
  8. Use each one of these as a chance to blog about your personal experiences with each holiday’s theme.
  9. Make a Pinterest board for the holiday and include some of your products that are appropriate.
  10. Send emails celebrating the observance all month with specific and relevant products to go with the holiday.
