I love garage sale finds threads. It is raining here, so I didn't get out today. Last weekend was great - head vase for 50 cents, several vintage japan smoking items for 25 cents, shawnee corn king for 50 cents, etc. It was a nice change - many times I don't find anything good.

What did you find this weekend?

Friday was a good day!....'bout 7 old mystery books $1.00 a piece, $10-$50 range on eBay...Old TV game, Raggedy Ann/Andy paper dolls...

But my BEST buy was two HUGE pool floats, one complete with palm tree & banana backrest, the other large enough to hold 3-4 kids...$5.00 each!...WoooooHooooo!

And the rain kept me home today...A good thing, cause the ole' bank account is hurtin'!

After hitting two sales that were packed with buyers and I found nothing I went to one that was due to open in 20 minutes... a picker had parked his truck at the bottom of the driveway and left his motor running, so I stepped through the flower beds to get past the car and was promptly yelled at by the woman holding the garage sale! I took a look and the A-hole who had parked his truck across the driveway had just finished scooping all the best stuff and was making a deal, so I left and went home - wasn't in the mood this morning anyway!

Minitower PC for $3.00 - When I asked the woman what processor it had in it she said "What is a processor?" I will have to pop it open.

I got an eclectic box of books for $20 - Salon styles, sheet music for vibraharp, clavier, clavichord, Christian Holiday and opera vocals. Fairly recent primary teacher's texts, Creative Family Workshop, modern dance. All hardbacks .50; all paperback .25.

In the last two days I've been to about 80 sales. I found lots and lots of books. My first stop today was at a church rummage sale. All hardbacks $.50 and paperbacks $.25. I picked thru and bought about $14.00 worth. When I was paying they said "come back at 1pm and we'll sell you books for $1.00 a bag. I was across town at 12:45 and debated returning but I couldn't help myself. I bought another 6 bags full.

Tomorrow I have another 27 sales on my list.

No rest for the weary or the e-bayer.

After a bunch of kind of slow weekends (mostly too many folks retailing out of their driveways), I finally got some good stuff. A beautiful porcelain doll, two new in box table fountains, a toreador painting on velvet, a dress for me, some interesting books, a few of those small shelves, a game that I haven't researched yet, but it's an older "electric" math game - you match the equation with the answer, and the bulb lights if it's correct, more books - a good haul overall.
