I thought I would bring this back to the top. For everyone that has given him neutrals about PayPal he has gone in and gave them negative feedback. But with the sell through rate he has the negatives and neutrals will be gone. Today his auctions go off so lets see if he sells any more.

Check his recent positive fb. Sort of odd why a few buyers are leaving fb before receiving product(unless this guy lives next door).

Buyers - whaat exactly did this person do to you? The negs and neutrals all seem to be becausse seller wouldn't take their payment due to the PayPal issue but 68 positives in a week is not exactly the mark off a rip off artist.

What do you think this news story will say?

i dont see anything wrong with this guy's auction.
he is selling dvds and they are hot and he is willing to let the bidding set the price.
he is either a wholesaler or a retailer who has inventory on hands,he is doing okay, may have lost some money on some but makeup from the others.
this is not unusual to list many items and take a break.
if he is a crook,he wont bother to place rebuttal on his neg feedback.
if he wants to scam, why does he scam higher ticket items??
this is a lot of work, listing all these dvd.

stopwhining,

He doesn't have the inventory on hand. Most of his auctions have a line in it about how the item is going to be "drop-shipped". Here's a synopsis of his eBay history:

1) He joined eBay in early January and started buying merchandise (DVD wholesale lists and lots)
2) He started listing DVD's in mid-January and built up a nice positive feedback rating.
3) He started lisiting high-priced electronics... all to be "drop-shipped"
4) At the same time, he re-listed all the DVD titles he had previously listed (through a bulk-lister which probably took very little time)
5) In about 1 week, he racked up over $250,000 in sales.
6) His Paypal account "broke-down" and won't allow him to accept payments
7) He no longer has any auctions listed

I don't know... he hasn't done anything wrong yet... but that's an awful lot of money he made in a short period of time with little experience. I would not want to be one of the people waiting for a $500.00 piece of stereo equipment. It's worth keeping an eye on. I think there will be a lot more negatives in the near future.

Why would anybody buy expensive electronics from some unknown bozo on feeBay, when ya can walk into C-City anytime & talk them down in price on just about anything??!!

I know because I've done it myself 3X over the past 6 mos! Saves shipping moola & I don't have to worry about crooks!

Don't understand this one...

Perhaps this guy followed up on one of those make $1000's weekly on ebay emails and is on his way to internet millions. The one thing I've learned, is to give people the benefit of the doubt. Would I buy from this guy? Perhaps, but I wouldn't be willing to risk more than $20 until I see a good pattern of + feedback for selling.

Hey Tomwii
I'm in the market for a DVD recorder and have heard on this board one other time (not sure if it was from you) that you can take an ebay printout in (I assume it has to be completed, new, and same model number) and they'll match that price. Is that true? I have my job back (they cancelled the layoff's) so I'm shoppin'

Tomwii...I have thousands of repeat customers. They buy items from me for 20% less than the lowest possible price you can negotiate on high ticket items at circuit city. And this is figuring the shipping. And they are still covered by the same warranties. I have excellent feedback though, ALL of it from years of selling high-end goods like this. I wouldn't buy from this seller though. Feedback from DVD's. Now selling expensive items. Uh-uh

Whenever I go into C-City (or BB, for that matter) I always for for 1 specific item that I researched ahead of time.

I come prepared with 3 print-outs from the lowest prices I can find on the web.

They SAY that they won't match web-stores...but they sure as hell don't let you out the door without offering you a VERY NICE discount that comes VERY CLOSE to the web prices (considering shipping)!

NEVER PAY FULL PRICE FOR GOODIES AT THESE BAM STORES!

Let's see.....1,534 auctions have ended in the last 7 days. Today, 0 auctions listed. Must be too busy drop shipping all of those high end electronics.

this guy could be a veteran seller under a diff id.
if you have access to dvd,you could have access to electronics.i know many sellers whom i track who are not selling anything right now,of course they sell one of a kind items and too exhausted or out celebrating somewhere.
whether you use mister loader or not,to keep track of these auctions and answer emails is a demanding job,we are not robots.
if he is drop shipping,he gets his money upfront and then pass on to the dropshipper, why does he need to skip town??
what we need to worry about is where do these goods come from,i hope they are not stolen from some chain's distribution center/

Or they could just be holding off until their PayPal account problems are cleared up rather than having more possible problems.

This is really is a bloodthirsty board.

stopwhining,

Uh, uh. Definately not a vetern seller under a different ID. On his early auctions... he was charging extra fees for Paypal (possibly why his paypal account was closed?). This is not something anyone who has been around eBay for awhile would be doing.

neonmania,

It is possible that he's waiting for his Paypal problems to disappear before selling.... but I would think that any serious seller would still list their items, just without the Paypal option.

there is a legit gemstone dealer from thailand who used to list 5000 items per month and he is still selling and want cash or money order sent to thailand,so should we say he is a crook??

We are going to have a wait awhile for the drop shipping as it doesn't start until the 28th. If he is legit I give him credit with all the work he did in a short time. I would love to do something like that. One good thing about taking PayPal everything is spelled out on the email sheet but when people send you money they never send a copy of anything so you can match it with the auction. Money order in envelope and nothing else.

One thing when you buy something a C-City, no shipping, good rates and they keep everything on hand in their computer. All I have to do is drive 2 miles if something happens. Now me, I would never buy electronics off of ebay with all the stories that are out there. I am sure there are honest sellers but with my luck I would not find one.

me too, when it comes to tools of trade,i want to buy from stores which i can drive and return them-pc,camera,scanner,printers.
my business of selling is important to me,i cannot afford down time.
but this guy we have to give him credit for all that hard work,if he is a crook,he could do better with higher ticket items, why dvd?/why not some jewelry, some electronics, some antiques.

stopwhining,

Why still list the DVD's? Well... if he used actual DVD sales to boost his ratings, then decided to scam on high-end electronics... he'd still have all the listing information on the DVD's. It would be really quick and easy to list the DVD's at the same time. It would add on an extra 5-10k at minimal effort.

It would be great if this guy turns out to be legit... Both for him and his bidders. But, I'm glad that I'm not one of the persons waiting for delivery.

to expand so much energy to prepare pages and pages of these dvd ??is that the sign of a hardworking crook??
if i want to scan ,i would right click all the nice juicy photos on ebay which sell well and list them all in 10 days.
starting at one penny and let the bidding on phantom goods begin.
did you read his rebuttal on neg,he could be a foreign born .
he could have access to these items at factory cost and want to take a chance on how much he can make.

Yes they can but since these are used DVDs the chances are more likely that they are purchasing en masse from rental stores/companies.

If they were coming out of singapore they would be listing them as new and sealed since that greatly increases the ending price.

with all the retail stores going under left and right,he could have access to these used dvds.
pawn shops take those in too.if he wants to scam and need to build up his feedback, there has to be easier way, also he said he is looking for more dealers??

The seller is also a buyer. They recently purchased some Star Trek figurines, a Cabbage Patch case and dolls, a Rolex watch and a Kirby vacuum cleaner.

Now, I can see them fleeing with the fancy new watch on but would they really take the vacuum? Or do they want to make sure they leave their house clean?
