For the 3rd time in six months I have had to change my user password on eBay because someone has tried to enter my user ID. Anyone else have this problem. This is really bgging me.

Notice from eBay that my password was suspended. I had to go site, forgot your password & enter a new one. This was not a spoof. I tried to get into My Ebay & was refused.

Have you done a thorough scan of your 'puter? I'm no expert, but seem to remember that sometimes someone can hack into your system and have something there that records your keystrokes, sounds far-fetched, but maybe a complete clean-up is in order?

It could be a trojan, but if you're on DSL, it's probably some teenager in the neighborhood that's phreaking the phone system. Betcha SBC never mentioned that possibility when you signed up with them.

Do you mean that someone entered your user name to login, repeatedly entered incorrect password, and eBay assumes a hack attempt and freezes your login?

I think it sounds like someone is trying to log into your account from a home. I've NEVER had to change my password. But if you're got computer-savvy kids...look out.

FYI; I live alone. My youngest "kid" will be 40 this year & lives in Cheyenne, WY. I have Norton A/V, did a complete system scan , no viruses. I have no idea what transpired with my account.

Does ebay do that? Freeze your account if too many log-in attempts are made? What a great angle for a scammer - they make repeated atempts to access someone's account, then send a phish-email that says that the account is invalid (user can even verify that is true by not being able to access) and then has them signin through one of their bogus links because user CANT get in to ebay! God I hope it hasn't come to that!!
