What's with an email I get from Vendio that reads in part,

"This is a notification message to inform that your eBay authorization
token stored at Vendio will expire soon.

Your eBay authorization token stored at Vendio expires on:
Mon, April 04, 21:34:10.

If the token expires, Vendio will no longer be able to do *any* action at
eBay on your behalf (example: launching your listings from Vendio to eBay or
inserting your Vendio Gallery in listings will no longer be possible). To
prevent this from happening, please follow these simple steps:

- Log on to Vendio site at Vendio.com;
- Click the My Account link at the top right;
- Click to the Auction Site Accounts page link at right;
- Click the 'Edit' link next to the 'eBay / eBay Motors';
- Click the 'Go to eBay Signin' button;
- Log on to eBay;
- Click the 'Agree and Continue' button;
- You will return to Vendio, confirming that your token has been updated;"

The one thing that leads me to believe this isn't legit is the salutation was to getalife , not my name. Secondly they want me to sign on to eBay.

If it is some kind of phishing expedition it seems pretty good. On the other hand why is Vendio telling me it will deny me privileges I pay for every month? And just what is a "token?"

Actually, while writing this I've decided it probably is a phishing email but how about a few comments. Thanks.

It's legit. All of our tokens were created about the same time and are now expiring. You left out the part of the email that suggests that if you are suspicious, surf their site and verify info you have entered that only you would know. If you log into Vendio, go to sales manager and you will see at the top of the page a token expiration notice along with a link to renew it. It'll save a couple of steps to do it that way, but be sure to print out the email and use it as a guide as there are a couple of steps that could be confusing. I just went through the process on one of my accounts a couple of days ago.

You can always ignore it and if auctions don't list after the expiration - it'll be a good indication that it was "real."

Just a thought.

something is Phishy. Why are there typo errors?
Why does the operator who responses to my questions have an Indian accent?
If it smells like a phish, it likely is a phish.

Hello rrralston,

I checked your account and I do see that your eBay token is about to expire. You may update it by taking the following steps:

- Log in to your Vendio account from vendio.com.
- Go to "My Account" at the top right of the page.
- Click on "Auction Site Accounts" near the top right of the page.
- Click the "edit" link to the right of your eBay ID.
- Click the green "Go to eBay Signin" button.
- Log in to your eBay account and follow the steps.

Please let us know should you have any trouble with this.

Best Regards,
Nate W.
