Is this too good to be true? Really, a 10-cent listing day? I'm so paranoid that I think it could be a joke - somewhere out there.

Bill Cobb

Hi...It’s Bill Cobb here to share a little extra holiday cheer with you. Our new friends and partners at Skype have offered to sponsor a listing promotion for eBay members. So tomorrow, as a gift from Skype to you, we’re running a one-day promotion on www.ebay.com and www.ebay.ca during which insertion fees for auction-style and Fixed Price listings will be just 10 cents. (eBay Motors Parts & Accessories are also included. Click here for more details.)
Of course, you don’t have to use Skype to participate in this promotion. But if you haven’t tried it yet, I encourage you to get a free download. Try it with your friends and family to stay in touch over the holidays.

On behalf of everyone at eBay, we hope you’re having a safe, joyous holiday season and we wish you a Happy New Year.

Sincerely,

Bill Cobb
President, eBay North America

Technical Question:
I know that if you go into MY EBAY and use the "Send to Fixed Price" feature on a store item it will take advantage of the 10 cent listing, but what happens if the store item had a gallery image? Do you get charged an additional 25 cents for a fixed-price gallery fee?

No, now they charge .35 for a gallery immage.

So if I try to do it the easy way, it becomes a 45 cent listing day

Whatta pain in the butt!

be sure to uncheck the gallery box, lest you pay that 35-cent fee. i always feel like they hope a bunch of us slip up on this one.

I just did a test conversion. There *IS* a gallery feature checkbox, so it's easy to do after all.

Whew!

You can only do the ebay bulk relister with active items right? DANG! I wish Vendio would make the bulk relister usable!

If anyone else has complaints about this make sure you mention it on the Vendio Services board.

Quote from Tom's link
"The promotional rate does not apply to listings with a start date prior to December 27, 2005 - including those listings revised during the promotional period."

Does that mean we can't send our store items to auction from my ebay. We have to end them and re-list them as auctions?

I don't know if I went the long away aroiund, but I copied listings from the eBay store into the Vendio pending file, then converted each one to an auction format.

ewora, if you "convert" store listings to fixed price items like I described above, the store listing is technically ended and a new fixed price or auction listing is created. It even gets a new eBay item number.

So technically, the converted listing starts today, not whenever the store listing started, so go ahead and do your conversions.

BUT watch those gallery fees if you use the gallery on your store items!

You can use the eBay bulk relister with active store items or ended unsold items. Very easy, very fast. You can bulk edit to get rid of the Buy it Now price, starting price, get rid of gallery. 50 items in less than 3 minutes. It would be nice if Vendio had this.
