Toasted --

I think I might be able to help with the one mark you indicate:

5L5"/(looks like maybe a # sign)3

I think it's actually:
5'~5"/(I agree the next mark looks like #3)

Hope that foot marking helps -- probably the length of the pole and I bet the #3 is the diameter in some way.

I've never heard of a "Brookie" and it's not in any of my books on vintage rods. It look like maybe it's refinished or maybe fairly new. Is it graphite?

Does the pole break down into 3 sections? That might be what the 3 is for.

I listed about 40 vintage rods last summer and did quite well with them.

Hi ewora it is graphite sorry should have said that in my first post.I also thank you for taking the time to look threw your books for me. Its on the newer side . But not super new I don't think. It has a Sage 503L reel on it ...having trouble find any info on the reel also. They are prolly the same age.I'd say if I had to guess they were made in the last 10-20 years. The pole only breaks down into 2 sections...its really small around not even as thick as a pencil.I'm almost afraid to handle it to much cause looks so small...Amazing how a fish doesn't break these things.
The other rod and reel are high end stuff so I'm thinking this is too or hoping . The other rod is a sage Model GFL 590-4 RPL and the reel is a Orvis Battenkill 5/6 made in England. Found both listed on eBay and lots of web info on them.

The word "Brookie" may be a model designation by the manufacturer. Possibly pushed as a good rod for Brook Trout?

You may want to list the reels separately from the rods.

If the Brookie is just 5'5" that's pretty short for a fly rod.

Thanks again ewora , I plan on doing that with the other pole and reel. I think my hubby is gonna keep the Brookie for two reasons ...just because he can lol (his words not mine...whata brat)we found these together today so hes tryin to claim the find as his (not! lol) and because we can't really find any info on it to know the value.
