Ing-Frog is just another Auction-Management and Image Host provider, just like VD, but far far cheaper -- tis the one I use

They just bought-out Spare Dollar (another blah...etc) and are in the process this month of launching a completely updated SUPER-SITE with all kinda goodies for a FLAT-FEE of...(hold on to yer hats, boils & ghouls) 9.95/month

However, the new software & site are not scheduled for debut until JUNE 1st, so PLEASE do NOT consider joining them until after 6/1, or you'll just confuse yerself for no good reason

BTW: there are oooodles of programs out there that provide FREE (or very CHEAP) image hosting, PLUS just as many that also provide all the BELLS & WHISTLES (read: BS) that so-called "full-service" auction management sites provide. In Ralphie's MHCO, you gotta be either a "mad dog or an Englishman sitting in da noonday sun" to put up with the Byzantine fee structure, ntm outlandish costs foisted upon yer tender bod at...

nanasnestegg - Have you looked at your invoice from Vendio? Just click on the My Account in the upper right corner of this page and then on the right side of the next page you will see Vendio Account. Under this title sellect Online Statements. You can view all your previous statements and current statements. The statements are in full breakdown of all specefic charges. Just go over it and see if you accidently got charged for something you shouldn't have and then email the billing department about it.

I myself use Vendio for everything and after years of floating around using other services I have found Vendio to be the best IMO. The best prices I could find for superior service. I won't be going anywhere anytime soon that's for sure.

Ink Frog costs me 12.95 a month, no extra charges. Actually right now it's free for me until November. My sister gave me a year of InkFrog & my ISP, for my birthday.

I can't think of anything they don't offer in my plan, it's very complete & I have well over 1000 images stored.

They offer a 2 week free trial if you want to check them out.

My son uses Auctive which is free.

Tom, shosh is there, she told me about IF over 4 years ago.

If you've only listed a few things why do you think you need to pay somebody to help you?

Image "hosting": Most ISPs will give you 40mb or so of FTP space to upload stuff to. All you have to do is ask them how to access it and learn to FTP. It's almost always a faster upload than some webpage like VD.

Auction listing: There are lots of listing programs, many of them free and quite useable.

Jane:

"Ink Frog costs me 12.95 a month, no extra charges."

As of JUNE 1, they will have TWO PLANS only:

COMPLETE AUCTION MGMT = $9.95/month
/or/
IMAGE HOSTING ONLY (300mb) = $6.95/month

Yer price will be CHEAPER now...

You don't owe $99.00. It's a screwy credit back type of accounting proceedure they use for new members, and some veteran members when they switch plans. If you chose the normal plan that most small to medium sellers use, you will only pay $9.95 for the first month. Questions about Vendio's pricing plans, as well as an explanation of what SMPro is are best presented in the services forum where a moderator or other Vendio employee can answer you direct. You can find the sales manager merchandising and image hosting forum here:

Honestly, Vendio's pricing plans are the screwiest to try to figure out. Why can't they present a clear, concise schedule to determine which plan is right? I appreciate image hosting credits but it is so difficult to determine what the final bill will be!

Hi
I signed up with inkfrog for 9.95 a month and I used them last night. I find that there picture service is just about as good as Auctiva which is a free service. But I will use inkfrog when auctiva is down.......which seems to happen a lot lately.

I don't see why I should share my profit with Vendio, i canceled service about 1-1/2yrs ago and all that money (50.00-80.00) a month is now in my pocket not there pocket.

I've used Ribbit.com ("ribbit...ribbit...") for IMAGE HOSTING for the past 2.5 years, & I truly do not remember them EVER being down -- mayhaps once or twice for a half hour at a time??

Their UPTIME has been very good...

My major complaint with them was (like VD) they were nickel-&-dimeing one to death! That's history now, as they now INCLUDE everything for an extremely cheap-o $9.95/month..."tis a BARGAIN", says Mr Po-Boy Ralphie!

I just checked out IF and it looks like it has many nice features. Won't work for me though - I use 3,000 MB image storage at Vendio and looks like that comes out to 9.95 for up to 300 and $5/100MB over,,$145! ARGH!!!!!!!

Take a look at http://www.auctiva.com if you are interested in alternative auction services. I use this as a backup and has worked very well.

Classic
it is 55 MB , which is very generous , I have several thousand on file here and not even near that amount of space used.

I looked at IF and couldn't find any way to have flat rate shipping for domestic and calculated for international. I wrote to them asking if there was any way to do it and they never replied. apparently they have no customer service or don't care about new customers. I guess I will just keep paying vendio 3 times as much per month.

I used IF to do one auction and had trouble with my picture loading, I wrote them an email and within 1/2hr they responded and then responded again to my question, and we got the problem fixed. Also I used flat rate shipping and I was able to choose that in the auction without any problem.

Check the listing page again you might have missed it. I also think the picture service is great just like Auctiva which I use and its free to use.

whatnot3:

You picked a particularily BAD month to ask for non-member support, as IF is both:

1) Integrating the members from SpareDollar into IF...

/and/

2) Rolling out a complete 100% NEW software system which is completely DIFFERENT than what they've offered in the past...

I think they offer great BANG for the BUCK, and you might want to RE-VISIT in a month or two after the DUST has settled -- THE NEW IF will be offering a WHOLE LOT for...$9.95/month

tonimar ... i am quite happy to have found auctiva recently ... the only tricky part was i had done a few listings, and realized they default you 'in' with having "chosen" (not!) the auctiva insurance plan for your listings.

once i figured out how to go turn that 'off', i'm diggin' it.

i can't figure out why it is free to list thru them! and for them to host the jpegs, nice template selection, and that scrolling gallery, i think i'm gonna love it. i am still learning what all is in there ... have only done up about a dozen listings.

neglus,

since you bought your own domain awhile back, have you considered storing your images there? i mean, you're paying to have the domain name, you might as well use its storage capabilities. i've got thousands of images stored at go daddy, for example. i think i paid them maybe $28 for the year. it's very simple to FTP/upload your images to your own domain. basically, just a cut and paste.

Glad to hear you like Auctiva, I have been using them for 1-1/2 yrs and I love the picture service the best. There customer service is the best also, But on and off they do have problems with picture service but not bad enough for me to leave them.

When they have trouble then I list with spare$$ which is now inkfrog........which I find just as good as Auctiva and its very reasonably priced. So for 9.95 a month I keep it for emergency.

The reason Auctiva can offer this listing program for free is because they are involved in some type of insurance and they feel they are making there money from the insurance end.

Methinks I will wait until after the glitches are all worked out.

I will start getting my photos prepared for the journey.

Ok, maybe they didn't get the message for some reason.
Does anyone here know if it is possible? (calculated international and flat rate domestic)
If not what would the best alternative be? (I want to stay with flat rate domestic shipping)

Vintage Postcards - my problem with hosting my own images is the task of revising image links in 7000 store listings! Had I known when I started what I know now...sigh.

At this point I am just a one woman shop and any time I spend "messing" with things like that is time spent away from my business. It's all I can do to scan, list and ship and can't really afford to take a hiatus right now to do something like that (2 kids in college etc). I don't really mind paying Vendio for image storage or post sales management(wish they would do a couple of things to make my life easier but I have found work arounds).

How did you handle the transfer of images in existing listings?

I am not sure Neglus but I assume each would have to be copied and uploaded and change the URL before sending to the Frog.I have the same problem, many many stored here.
However,I am going to undertake it.

BTW -I am a one-woman operation also. I do all my eBay work - myself .
