Well I have friends in Chang Mai and outside Phuket. Sent low value items to both no problem. High value items tend to get "lost" in either customs of the post office. Courier companies are no better and have a high "loss" rate on consumer electronics and other easily sellable items.
Whatever you do - no PayPal or credit cards for orders shipped to Thailand. The risk of a charge back is too high (even if the card is genuine)...

I've probably shipped five items to Thailand and have not had a problem. Check the buyer's feedback before accepting PayPal.

I shipped several items (including her whole Christmas) to my daughter when she was in Chiang Mai with no problems. Global Priority and Express take longer than advertised though.

I've sold twice, I think, to Thailand, no problems.
