Somebody was using one of my Vendio pictures in their auction. I replaced the picture with another, but would like to notify eBay. Anyone have the link to do this?

Click on the "report this item" link at the bottom of the listing. "Copying your listng" is the first choice.

Did you replace the photo with something juicy?

On any eBay regular page, click the Help button at the uppermost right-hand corner.

Type "picture theft" in the Search Help box.

Remember to bill the thief for "intellectual property" usage plus a service charge. Out of 100 or so infringement notices I've sent around ten picture/text thieves have coughed up the dough...

Is the picture still up that you replaced? Funny how they don't check their auctions to see if all is well with them. Put up some monkey porn, on second thought Vendio might not like that either but would be funny. Or find a broken nasty item like it to replace it with or a pile of trash or unrecognizable junk.

I reported it to eBay yesterday, and received a reply today.
It was their usual canned response. Checked the auction, and there is no trace of it. However the seller still has well over 100 items showing.
I guess he got a gentle slap on the wrist.

eBay won't NARU you for a first-time picture theft offense.

However, if the thief does it over and over again and an alert person reports it, s/he will be suspended.

I had the frustrating experience of having a customer resell my stuff on eBay (that was OK) using my own pictures (that was NOT). I started out with a warning, which she ignored.
I reported every instance of her theft I could find to eBay and got the same canned response you did, I'm sure. But I kept on it and eventually they NARU'd her and all six of her known eBay IDs.

She threw away a perfectly good ID with 771 feedback because she was too lazy to take her own pictures. I don't get people sometimes.

I find it more effective to change the picture to monkey porn.

My picture thief contacted me after his listing disappeared.
Dear XXX,

you dumbass...
what kind of lameo goes out picture hunting and then turns in a guy who is using the same picture of some stupid XXXXXXX. Beware...you are going to have a few items bid on Good Luck!

I then contacted Trust & Safety, forwarding the email.
Recieved a reply that since he hasn't interfered with any of my auctions, they can't do anything.

send another note to trust and safety (safe harbor?) ~ this time use the link that says the eBaYer is harassing you ~ that is one nasty little note he sent, especially with the threatening undertones.
Cut and paste it into your complaint

I would notify ebay again and if you get any unpaid items this guy may be making good on his threat, then how you going to know it if he uses another name or a friend to mess with your auctions. Ebay will claim they can't prove it is him. Try to nip it in bud before he can snafu you.

I thought Ebay didn't give out emails anymore if you were not doing business with the id. Oh the ask seller a question link--duh.

I feel for ya, that would just steam me big time. Hope you get it taken care of. Sounds like this guy is a real jerk. Has he stolen others images and linking to their stored image too?

How about posting his seller id here so we can at least block that.
