Remember that really NICE BASQUE card?
Sniped at $15.50, and Ralphie & I do a HAPPY DANCE, when we get THIS misive:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"I'd like to receive this item via Fed Ex overnight by Tuesday in
the AM.
My Fed Ex account # for shipping is; XXXXXX
BIDDER NAME. I will
make full payment to you now and I'm
not worried about paying you for
shipping even though I'm
using Fed Ex, I just want it to arrive by
Tuesday:[/i]
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
THE ONLY shipping method OFFERED in rthe listing was FIRST CLASS MAIL, which I can hand off to Mr.DeliveryPerson...
I can't DO FEDEX, UNLESS I spend $30 RT taxi fare to the UPS STORE!
Ai! Carrumba!
Why don't they ask BEFORE placing a bid? I would have politely said NO & then BLOCKED her...
TRhis day is really going into the TOILET, as I just began a happy round of Kidney Cramps 1 hr ago -- a precussor (I HOPE NOT) of a full blown stone attack...

Oh I'm so sorry Tom, hubby can feel for you on them kidney stones. Knock on wood I haven't ever had one but we both eat the same stuff . Hope I never have one.
On the post card.I seem to remember a thread about not using someone elses Fedex or UPS account numbers to ship by. Something about they can still charge you for the shipping cost by claiming they didn't do the charge. Someone else will come in and tell ya about it.

You can really get stung.

Ask if they want to tack on $40 for your time and cab ride -otherwise it will go USPS.

Is that his Fed Exp account??
There were some threads in the past on how to deal with Fed Exp account shipping -instead of putting your addr as return addr,use his so Fed Exp will try to bill him instead.

MY EMAIL TO HER:
Dear Bidder:
As noted in the PayPal email below, I have REFUNDED your payment 100% in
full, as I did not receive a reply to my email I had sent you...
For many reasons, I cannot do FEDEX, and the ONLY shipping method offered in
the listing was USPS FIRST CLASS MAIL for $1.99...
I can mail the card either FIRST CLASS MAIL or I could also mail via USPS
PRIORITY MAIL for $5.99...
FOR FIRST CLASS MAIL SHIPPING: the total due = $17.49
FOR PRIORITY MAIL SHIPPING: the total due = $21.49
PLEASE ADVISE ASAP how you would like to procede with this transaction; or,
I can (if you wish)CANCEL the transaction and offer it to the second place
bidder -- the CHOICE is yours.
Again, THANK YOU for your winning bid!
Sincerely,
Tom & Ralphie
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
HER REPLYto LITTLE OLE ME:
Jerk,
Once a bidder pays you'd think the transaction is complete in full and we are all off to the races. This was suppose to be a gift for someone on Tuesday evening. Now with your hesitance I may not be able to give this. Please send it priority mail today and do not cancel anymore transactions until notifying me first, it doesn't seem very professional. Do I need to take more of my time now and log back int and pay again?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I REALLY DO NOT WANT TO COMPLETE THIS "TRANSACTION!"
I need this aggravation like I need a NEW kidney stone!

I would never use a buyer's shipping account. I've learned that all too often such accounts actualy belong to someone else such as a buyer's employer who won't take kindly to this.
She sounds like a b*%#h and I would want to tell her to go pound sand too the only problem is, aren't you already on a bit of shaky eBay ground due to past transgressions real or otherwise?
Complete the transaction but brace yourself for a neg. Keep in mind better a neg than a neg plus a non-performing report.

If Tom completes this transaction,why should he get a neg?
Money is money,just ship the item by USPS priority mail and start celebrating,drinks are on me.
PS.
I have finally found a drink I can handle,Riunite light Lambrusco with twisted cap,but I cant find it anywhere,is it out of stock or phased out?

No, I just didn't pay the BILL for 6 months -- they WELCOMED me back like the PRODIGAL DOG & SON...
Can't be non-performing if I REFUNDED her moola -- eBay allows sellers to cancel transactions they are UNCOMFORTABLE with...
I'm just about ready to send her the INFAMOUS:
"This is required NOTIFICATION (as per eBay rules) that you (and anyone acting on your behalf) are no longer welcome to bid on my auctions, and any further bids by you (or anyone acting on your behalf)shall be considered to be harassment & will be reported to TRUST & SAFETY department at eBay.com"
REGARDLESS of anything I do from here on out, I'm getting a NEG (twill be #3 out of 3000), so "m damned if I...

BILL: the reason my listings say FIRST CLASS MAIL (and ONLY FCM) is so I can hand them off to the mailman AND NOT SPEND $20 FOR A TAXI RIDE TO & FROM THE SUBSTATION or $40 TAXI TO THE PO!

"Dont let personal emotion and pride get into making money" is Ralphie's MOTTO!
If I complete the transaction, I'll most likely get a NEG...
If I CANCEL it & offer it to the #2 bidder (a difference between $15.50 vs $15.00), I'll most likely get a neg...

Tom, you are handling this correctly. Your description had only one method of shipment, which was 1st Class Mail. Any other method would be excluded. Perhaps an email to the buyer explaining your situation, and your policy of 1st Class mail, will defuse this matter.
I also think that in the future, you should emphasize that you ship only by 1st Class Mail, no exceptions, within your item description.

All my PC listings state:
All postcards shipped to USA addresses
mail via:
USPS FIRST CLASS MAIL with DELIVERY CONFIRMATION
(SHIPPING FEE = $1.99)
Everybody said my TOS was too long...too involved...that I should simplify it...
There comes a point when ya have to assume that EVERYBODY bidding is a BIG BOY or BIG GIRL, who can READ & COMPREHEND simple ENGLISH!

Tom, those who tell you that your TOS are too long, and you should simplify, usually post a problem on this board, because their TOS were too short and inadquate.
Two additional words - "I ONLY ...." would and will suffice to solve this problem in the future.
Yours TOS are too short, and mine can be considered too long. However, when push comes to shove, I'd rather have them too long than too short. Just as in life, you have to have something to hang your hat on.
Take a look at this blah, blah, blah ...

"Can't be non-performing if I REFUNDED her moola"
Want to bet on that one? Even if YOU cancel the transaction SHE can still file a non-performing seller report.
Swallow your pride and follow through.
"If Tom completes this transaction,why should he get a neg?"
Why should he or why would he? Obviously, he shouldn't get a neg but that's no guarantee that she won't give him one anyway.

threw in the post.
I know Ralphie can be onry, remember when you didn't give him what he wanted for dinner & ever since you've had to carry him down the stairs.

Sorry, Tom. You said:
Can't be non-performing if I REFUNDED her moola -- eBay allows sellers to cancel transactions they are UNCOMFORTABLE with...
You can be non-performing even if you refund her money:
If a seller has refused to complete a sale, and payment has not been sent or payment has been refunded, report the seller.
http://pages.ebay.com/help/policies/seller-non-performance.html
eBay allows sellers to cancel bids they are uncomfortable with. Once the auction's over, though, it's different.
Again, sorry.

Most sellers would just lie and said -sorry,some one broke into my house and that item has been stolen,
OR
I just broke the item or in your case,I just poured coffee over it.
