Cash - LOL
Curiosity kills the cat you know! Maybe it is driving her crazy and yet she once wanted me to pay her hourly fee because she had to return a post to me! I hope she doesn't spend too much time searching for me. I told her the check was in the mail.

I'm sick of this subject, so here's a last word:
I ran into a friend at the post office the other day. I hadn't seen him in eight months. He doesn't buy on eBay, nor does he sell there, he doesn't even know anything about eBay, but the first words out of his mouth were: "How about that boycott! So are you quitting eBay because of the new rules?"
I told him heck, no. I'm a flea, eBay's an elephant, elephants pay no attention to fleas and it's still the best place to sell, hands down.
If someone completely removed from eBay has heard about the boycott nonsense, the nonsense has gone way too far.
eCrater has been touted by people who don't seem to know too much about online selling as the next big thing. My concern is that other small-time sellers who need the income are going to move there when there is no visible evidence of enough traffic to make sales. I have provided proof of this in my previous posts. The eCrater cheerleaders don't even seem to understand what eCrater is.
People come here and claim they've made sales on eCrater but when asked to back up their statements, they get defensive. They're trying to get people to make a major shift; it is far from unreasonable to ask for proof of their claims.
Since we know nothing about them (other than one's propensity for tacky graphics), I see no reason to give credence to what they say.
eCrater is great? Prove it.

As I have said before, I am a hobby seller and don't need the income, I have never declared that income from ecrater (at least in my experience) would support a household. I don't have anything to prove to you, and I guess you have nothing useful for me. Hopefully this is your last word to me, BLOCK ME.

Have no idea why the Puss got a bee in her bonnet about e-Crater?
Other than the fact that you can open a STORE (and ONLY a STORE) there for FREE, there's not much difference between e-Crater Stores and VENDIO STORES...
Personally, I fould the VD STORE (THE EMPORIUM) to be much more USER-FRIENDLY than the e-Crater STORE...
My complaint with the VD STORE is that VD nickles-and-dimes ya to DEATH by forcing one to use VD's crappy IMAGE HOSTING, when one needs NO more image hosting -- I've got IMAGE HOSTING practically falling out Ralphie's butt, so, forcing me to use MORE is a PITA...NTM the fact that my AUCTIVA GALLERY is BLOCKED in the VD STORE...
But ALL OF THESE STORES are basically the same, and they ALL lack the most important ingredient for internet business success: AN EASY TO USE SEARCH-ENGINE-OPTIMIZATION FEATURE!
OTOH: I can't really complain too much, as, over the last 3 weeks, more & more NON-VD buyers have been visiting Ralphie's Emporium -- Does this mean that VD is doing more than just a nightly GOOGLE feed?
Good question, & I don't know the answer...All I can say so far is that: RALPHIE & I ARE HAPPY WITH OUR VD-STORE SALES SO FAR!

money in the bank...I don't care if it is eBay...Amazon..eCrater...Half.com...or my sad cousin that doesn't know how to shop----sales are sales...make them anyway you can and enjoy the profits if any!! Deichen...I like the unicorn...wouldn't these be more fitting for this post....

rhpepsi – I agree, sales are sales – no matter where they come from. I thought about Sylvester (perfect pose – about to pounce), but used the tweety quote!
I think your desire for keeping yer eBay user name private on a public board such as here on the EO is just plain good COMMON SENSE, and I wish I could hop into the WayBack Machine and stuff the Genie back into the bottle...
IOW: if I had it to do over again, I would have kept my eBay name private...
Approximately 99% of the folks here are really SUPER KIND HEARTED GENEROUS people who SAVED ME & RALPHIE from ending up on the street...
Sadly, there's 1% that ain't so wonderful...
Keep to your OWN comfort level, and you can't go wrong...I wish I had...

tomwiii,
Thank you for your comments. I am very glad I have kept my id private and will continue to do so. I agree with you, that most on this board are great, but some want to do some damage. I see no reason, why I would give my identity to be put under scrutiny by Fluff. This is a chat for heaven's sake and it is here for anyone who wants to post and they should not be subject to her poor moods and/or attitude. That is getting old very quickly.

I would much rather park my items at eCrater where it's free and I do get sales than in an invisible eBay store where it's not free and I get no sales.

Even though I try to run over 300 core auctions at any one time, the majority of my sales come from my eBay store. I've seen courageous large sellers in my category leave eBay - some for their own web site, some for other venues. I suspect from my google searches, that those with established customer bases are doing better with their own web site than those who have gone to an eBay wannabe. Just a hunch. If I were doing this for a hobby and not for income, I might move off of eBay to save the headaches it gives me. Alas, such is not the case. Edited to add: if your eBay store listings are invisible, you either have a) far too common items on eBay or b) have not included the keywords that will find your items or c) are not promoting your items with links from a significant number of core listings.

The thing I like about ecrater is that it is a totally different concept and does not need the maintaince that so many of the ebay wannabe websites need. Even with an ebay store, if you sell duplicates, ecrater can help your sales. That is if you know the price you want out of your item and it isn't something that may be an unknown treasure fetching far more than you dreamed! Of course, I put those type of items on ebay. That is a no-brainer.
Most ecrater sellers get their traffic from search engines, not the ecrater site. I also send links in all of my emails, etc...
I sell more on here than I ever did on Yahoo (back when Yahoo did well) and more than I ever sold on BidVille (what a joke).
No, I am NOT a powerseller (I guess the label is Hobby seller) nor am I pretending to be. But this does seem to work for me and my sales for February and March are up from last year.

Remember when we were trying to guess Fluffy's eBay identity? I don't know why but for some reason sometimes I want to know what I do not need to know at all. There are many, many nice people on this board who are willing to offer help, yes, Fluffy too has helped a lot.

Thank you Bill. My soda ad collectors are pretty fanatic. In their minds, my Vendio store is too crowded (and hard to navigate) and eBay is too expensive. All my new eBay soda ad customers get a flyer for the ecrater store with a free shipping coupon.
As a back-up I keep a copy of the ecrater ads in SMPro desktop. Just in case ecrater...craters.

Pmelcher,
Re: "There are many, many nice people on this board who are willing to offer help, yes, Fluffy too has helped a lot."
I couldn't agree more. Fluffy isn't everyone's cup of tea 24x7. However, she has an informed view, knows the online business world, and gets her points across. As it happens, I agree with her view most of the time, although I do think that she might get "heard" more if she expressed herself differently. It's only a loss to those who can't manage to get past her style, but a loss nevertheless.
