I haven't listed on Ebay for about a year.
I had two auctions kicked off today for listing "Like New" in the title.
Seems like the fee's are a lot more expensive and all the rules have changed.
Any one selling anywhere else?
Thanks!

Isadoras, go back and read the old threads.

Yes, fees have increased significantly and using "like" anything will get a listing pulled. Ebay has searchbots that are zapping title keywords indiscriminately.

If you have not listed in a year, forget everything you ever thought you knew about ebay. It is a totally different world now.

Start everything outrageously low and offer free shipping on everything, use no designer names or any other names in your title and you should be fine. If going broke is fine??

Oh and you can't accept checks and money orders; you have to state a return policy, specify shipping, and depending on the category, have s/h costs at or below ebay's limits. Also you have to maintain at least 4.3 DSR's if you want to keep selling; you might be subject to holds placed on your PayPal account until buyers give you positive FB; you may have limits placed on the number of designer items you can list (or as it turns out "name" brands)- you won't know ahead of time which items are subject to restrictions until you try to list them so don't go out and buy huge inventories until you are certain you will not be restricted.

I know there are more changes - what have I forgotten?

I know there are more changes - what have I forgotten?

If you're a guy you have to list while wearing a corset, fishnet hose and stiletto heels.

If you're a gal you have to bag a moose in Alaska. Once a week.

Oh, I'm KIDDING, of course. One per season is enough.

mmm, I bagged a mouse Tuesday afternoon. Guess that means I am restricted to listing on Tuesday's from 1 to 4 pm and only in the small animals categories.

good point Neglus. By the way, I did not really kill a mouse or any other small animal last week but let's just say I did....

New Listing- 1 Toothless Mus Minimus(little mouse)AS IS

(representative photo, actual item will appear drastically different)

Presented for you morbid enjoyment, this Mus Minimus(little mouse) recently met the most unfortunate fate. Previously, the cute little creature pictured above scurried about enjoying crumbs and bits of doggie kibble until his unfortunate encounter with one musophobic haus frau who greatly resented having her domestic revery disturbed.

Without thinking, said haus frau quickly grabbed the closest thing (which unfortunately for said Mus Minimus was an iron skillet) and hurled it at the intruder.

Poor Mus Minimus!

Picture copyright owned by Erwin Voogt

Well, what does one do with a well smashed mouse?

NO! Tis not a suitable end for such a gentle creature who scared the kravits out of a blissful haus frau. No, we have chosen to leave the end of his story up to you.

You will receive one (1) deceased unnamed Mus Minimus enclosed inside one (1) generic zip-lock style bag.

**Please note teeth have been removed. This disgusting but necessary procedure was necessated by Federal, International and Ebay rules prohibiting the commerce or trade of items containing ivory.**

*Disclaimer, no animals have been harmed in the creation of this listing. All details and persons are ficticious and do not represent any persons (or animals) living or dead. Events portrayed in this listing are strictly fictional and are not iintended to represent other such events that may or may not have occurred at sometime in history. Pictures are used without permission but were easily obtained with Goggle Image search. No intent to deprive image owners or their associates from much deserved credit or funds is intended. Copying text, style or intent of this listing is strictly against eBay rules but not to worry since eBay seldom bothers to act on reports of copied listings. Seller is not responsible for , nor wishes to know, what the buyer does with Mus Minimus. Yes, SERIOUSLY! I DO NOT WANT TO KNOW! Now go place your bid you sick perverted skelanimal.

Returns NOT ACCEPTED!

LtRay...do you offer FREE SHIPPING?

Could you tell me the dimensions of the tail?

Also...is it from a smoke-free environment? (my python is alergic to smoke)

Oh..are the claws clipped...makes it harder to swallow if they are not?

Hi rhpepsi!

I will be happy to answer your questions. Please forgive me for not thinking to include them in my listing. How careless of me!

You asked:

do you offer FREE SHIPPING?
I will be happy to include free shipping if your bid exceeds $50.00

Could you tell me the dimensions of the tail?
The tail is approvimately .2 inches in diameter and about 4 inches long. It appears a small portion may be missing at the tip because it is not as pointy as I would expect a mouse tail to be. With that said, I do not believe the missing bit could be from the incident in the listing because I found no extra parts on the skillet.

Also...is it from a smoke-free environment? (my python is alergic to smoke)
Good question! I cannot be sure that Mus Minimus came from a smoke free environment. You know how mice are such opportunistic animals. There is no way of knowing how many houses he may have visited before he came to mine. Upon closer inspection, he does appear to have a tad bit of greying around the mouth and some unusual wrinking on the face. Considering that he could not out-run the skillet, this too might add to the speculation that he might have been a smoker. I would advise that your python eat at his own risk. No additional seasons will be provided with the listing.

Oh..are the claws clipped...makes it harder to swallow if they are not?
I did not clip them but I did file them a bit and applied some pink gloss to make them more presentable. Most skelanimals are picky about animals they add to their collection so I have tried to leave him as orginal as possible. I suspect your python would gind the filed edges quite soothing to swallow and I a sure he could use the extra calcium. If your python is on a low calcium diet, you are invited to clip them yourself.

If I can answer any additional questions for you, please let me know. I will be sitting by my computer monitoring emails and bids for the next 7 days, 24 hours a day anxiously awaiting the chance to serve you.

Sincerely,
LtRay

Thank you for the quick responses. I do have a few more questions;

Do you have a buy it now price?

Can I have it shipped to my ex-wife's address?

I am interested in several, do you have more?

And would you combine shipping if under $50.00?

I know from your description that the mouse is in rough shape...do you think it would still work with my computer? (pictured below)

Last question, if my cat (photo below) was not pleased with your mouse, could it be returned?

Thank you for your time.

Chris or Nathan will be here soon to stop this mouse torture......

Isadoras1000, we seem to have stolen your thread. Sorry about that!

Dear rhpepsi,

Please forgive my delay in responding to your question. My mailbox is filling up with inquires about this unique listing. So many questions from so many different kinds of people who have dreams of owning Mus Minimus.

Let me see if I can cover all your questions

Do you have a buy it now price?
Gosh, no I don't. I would not know how to possible price such a unique creature.

Can I have it shipped to my ex-wife's address?
Not a problem. Just be sure to enter her address as the shipping address when you use ebay checkout. I use paypal labels and the address you enter will be the address this item will ship to. I cannot modify the shipping address for you.
PS, you are starting to scare me a little. If you have some plan of terrorizing your ex, please kindly leave me out of it.

I am interested in several, do you have more?
Sorry but this is the only one. However, I did spot a coot that had washed up on the lake today. The shipping might be a bit high unless you are willing to wait for him to dry out but for the right offer I could probably convince my dear husband to scoop him up for you. Considering his waterlogged condition, we would use the extra-large generic ziplock bag for shipping.

And would you combine shipping if under $50.00?
Certainly. I will even offer you a choice of shipping options. I normally use USPS parcel or Priority mail but you seem like such a nice guy, we might be able to deliver it personally on our next roadtrip to your town.

I know from your description that the mouse is in rough shape...do you think it would still work with my computer? (pictured below)
Only if it could be on the bottom. I don't think you will see much action if you tried to put it on top.

If I can answer any additional questions for you, please let me know. I will be sitting by my computer monitoring emails and bids for the next 7 days, 24 hours a day anxiously awaiting the chance to serve you.

Sincerely,
LtRay

oops, forgot to reply to your last question about returns. I accept returns on any of my listings. Just let me know you want to return it and I will immediately refund your full original payment and email you a shipping label so it will be no problem for you to return it.

Once I receive the return, I will send your cat a consolation gift. I know this will not fully compensate for whatever grief your cat may experience due to the loss of such a unique gift but it might help a little.

Either way, PLEASE, Please, please leave me 5 stars on the transaction. I do not think I could survive knowing I had failed to please you.

Your new best friend,
LtRay

well...Isadoras1000;

I think from all the previous posts here...you should have a CLEAR picture of how sales and the new rules are on eBay.

A LOT...no idea of the exact numbers...but OTHER sites are growing. Sales are slow...but back in 1996/7 they were slow on ebay also. Amazon...IOffer...ecrater...bonanzle...onlineauction...ebid...your own website...take your pick...good luck.

Ltray, how did you get to list Mus Minimus? I tried to list one the other day and eBay told me I had exceeded my limit of selling this brand. Did you get VERO certified or something?

shhh Pixia, I am running under the Vero radar. I listed it in a totally unrelated category so the Verobots are not likely find it. I've also intentionally started my listing on Thursday with just a 5 day run so ebay will not have time to pull it. By the time they come back from their 3 day weekend and dredge through the mountain of other Vero flags, I will already have my buyer's contact info and I won't care if they pull it or not.

I launched the listing with free shipping. Ebay just loves seeing free shipping so they did not sic the VERO dogs on me. Once it was across the first hurdle, I revised my shipping to my normal small item shipping rate of $25.99.

It is really not so hard to play chess with the ebay servers. They are only set to knock out the so called honest sellers, you know, the ones that brag about 100% feedback and low shipping.

Dang Pixiamom, now you've done it! The ebay spys constantly read the Vendio threads. They have now pulled every Mus Minimus listing on ebay.

Guess I'll have to try it again next weekend ... [ edited by LtRay on Oct 23, 2008 08:46 PM ]
