What is a good way to use a shipping calculator when selling 2 items that must be packed and shipped separate - say like a pair of large lamps?
Can this be done?

on your auction you have the ability to state the weight...simply enter the weight of both lamps, packing, boxes. Some sellers will add a pound or two also to cover it. With lamps, make sure the LARGE package is selected if they are over the shipping size limits. Then you always have the "additional handling charge" ...All of which ebay doesn't get a percentage of...yet.

Thanks for the hint rhpepsi .
I guess that could work for two identical items - I'll try that and see.
I used lamps as example but what I really have is a small buffet. The top is the size of a little book case and the bottom is like a little cabinet. I wonder if I could add the weight and average out the size. It's just scary on something large like this when shipping can get pretty steep.

In this case, you shouldn't combine shipping. You have two separate boxes, so you will have to treat each box as it's own. Two boxes, two different shipping amounts.
