So, in the search for a web e-commerce solution, I came across StorEnvy. Basically, it is a free online e-commerce site that uses Paypal and will soon offer Stripe payments.

It is simple, basic, but has a very clean look. You can put 5 photos on it per item. It took me a few hours to set up, including adding about 30 products.

The good news is that I had my first sale in less time than it took to have my first sale on Etsy.

They make their money from add-ons, but so far, I have used two. An importer from Etsy ($20 one time charge) and a monthly subscription for $5.00 to use my own domain name. No other fees associated with selling product.

I will keep you posted on how it does. I am hoping to use my old business web address to go directly to it and see if I get some sales from that.

The add ons are things like using your own domain name for your store: $5 month

Download your items from Etsy or CSV: $20 one time fee for lifetime downloads

Coupons/Promotions: $5 month.

There are others too. It seems to be a great way to gauge sales if you wanted to open your own store.

I haven't completely dove in by promoting our store because the business name is changing. I want to make sure my personal life is back in order before I jump in all the way. I have had too much turmoil having to move out of our retail space and moving our studio this summer, and potentially moving our home in the next month in addition to being a part time program coordinator at a non-profit. Needless to say, my plate is full, but I am busy and that makes me happy.
