Got this is an email from a buyer:

"I just purchased your xxxxx. Could you PLEASE make sure the outside red storage box is well protected during shipping from any damage? I will be giving this as a gift and want to make sure the outside box is also in excellent condition."

It is a MSRP $40 ornament in mint condition. Sold for $12.50 + free shipping.

Maybe I am just being too sensitive, but would anyone ask other sellers on other venues this??

Please don't tell me about the people who send stuff in pizza boxes. She can see my FB.

How about this??

"Hi... I would love to buy this now for $5.99?"

Another $40 ornament, harder to find, last one I have and listed for $19.99 with a BIN of $25.99!!

Maybe I am being too touchy.

I think we are becoming somewhat irritated by Buyers asking us to protect during shipping.
Funny thing is that we had a Buyer about a month ago who asked that we enclose a Handkerchief in a Ziploc bag before placing in the envelope. The reason she gave was the same s your Buyer...it was to be a gift.

Well..we did as she asked and when she gave us feedback she said how pleased she was with it and thanked us for protecting it as the storm had ripped the top right off their mailbox! I must say I felt a little better about her after that!

As for your second 'Offer' we had one similiar last week on a postcard and I was going to ignore but I just sent a very quick note saying that no we couldn't accept their offer but did they notice we give Free Shipping on that item' They didn't buy.

otteropp, I usually politely answer all "offers" and if they are official BEST OFFERs,and I send a counteroffer, I send a nice note saying "Thanks for the interest, etc."

I felt like saying to the email with the $5.99 request, "So would I!" But I restrained and just deleted.

I hope my safe shipping request buyer is as nice as yours. I am very leary of these special requests. Maybe it is just the climate on Ebay lately.

It is indeed the climate that EBay has fostered that is making us sensitive to everything because we never know what might cause the end of our 'eBay Career'.

When I received the postcard 'offer' I left it overnight because I didn't trust myself to answer politely immediately.

What a want to say when I get a low ball offer: "Why don't you get a gun, put on a mask and rob me right."

What I really say: "Thanks for the offer but I'll have to pass at this time."

It's all in how you serve it up LOL

I once had someone offer $100 on a $500 item. I decided to counter at $300. To my amazement, they took the offer. You just never know.

Merrie - do you sell 2014 dated ornaments? I am getting ready to buy one. If you have them, I'll buy from you and I won't tell you how to pack it either LOL. I get one every year about my love for my husband. Email me at [email protected] with your ID if you have anything.

As far as the lowball offers we will always get them and how to deal with them is an individual decision. As far as the request to be sure and pack safely I don't find that request annoying or rude. I always pack safely but with the way the packages are handled by shipping companys and as many hands as these packages go through this is a true issue. I* just respond that I always pack safely but will take extra precautions with this package. People usually are happy with this answer and most are quite happy with the package when it arrives.

ebabestreasures: I have stopped purchasing new items. Only have earlier dates, no 2014. Trying to get out of the Ebay rat race, but thanks for the offer.

capolady: I do the same, but it just gets on my nerves.
