I've never been so frustrated. Having not sold on eBay for a year or so, laid up, I decided today to get back on it and list a few things.

Ebay asked me hundreds of times for my user name and e-mail address. I gave it every time. I even changed the user name a few times to see if that would work.

Called EBay. Got cut off.
Will try again tomorrow.
Has anyone else here had that sort of runaround? ~Adele

I had the same problem - they kept making me sign in over and over. I had auto fill set but it never would fill in either my ID or password. Drove me crazy.
I switched to Firefox and that fixed it but I hate Yahoo searches - can't get rid of it.

Has anyone here just opened a new account instead of wrestling with the old one? Is there a downside to doing that?

I've now spent at least 4 hours with a customer helper and also on my computer. It is crazy-making. I'll put in my user name and password, I'll be told by e-mail that all is well, but when I try to use the name and password, I GET RED ERROR MESSAGES.

Then this afternoon I got a customer support person whom I could not understand (Indian? some other accent, anyway). Did what I thought he told me to do, didn't work. I'm close to tears.

My husband thinks I should just quit with eBay, not try to sell or buy anything more. That would be my very last resort.

Hi Adele - I am hoping to get back on too. Haven't sold for a few years. I tried signing in on EBay and no problem. Put in my user name and the password came right up and I'm on.

good luck

Have you tried Google Chrome?
I use AOL with IE ,when I have problem,I will switch to Chrome or Firefox.
If you are on Window XP,MSFT no longer supports XP and Window 7 has some problems too.
And then there are problems with Java when you print labels online.
Not to mention new features of Ebay and Paypal.
Paypal is adopting cc policy, and allow buyers to return items in 180 days.
If you are new to selling on Ebay or have not sold much or away for a long time, one year is a long time,Ebay will restrict you on how many items you can list,in dollar term and $$ wise,it would also ask Paypal to withold your payment up to 21 days or 3 days when DC shows delivered.
There is also the defect system, you can get up to 7 defects for each item sold, but only 1 defect would count against you-buyer opening up a case, asking you a question, wondering where the item is,slow in shipping, item not as descrived, item not received, refunding your buye etc etc all will make you look bad.
I have 2 buyers who ask where is my item, they are from NE and weather is very bad,it is showing up on my rating.
Also if your buyer said item not as described and return a box of rocks,Ebay will rule in their favor, you also have to pay return shipping,Ebay can print them a label and make you pay.
Find out about all these changes,if you have not sold for a year or more, also look at your feedback,as your good feedback rolled off,the bad ones will hurt you.

Go to Ebay community and read about all the problems both buyers and sellers are having under selling, shipping and return,my account etc.
Plenty of sellers account are restricted, some have fund withheld and some cant print labels, some lost disputes.
There is a whollesaler of used medical supplies who require buyers to show their license ect ,if they dont have it,she will refund their money and cancel the orders, now under the new system, everytime she cancelled an order,it makes her look bad, keep doing it ,she wont be able to sell on Ebay, ditto with a guy who sells plants and trees, some states would not allow out of state trees like CA,so he has to cancel the order, and he is facing the same problem.
also Ebay search engine not only search,it can also hide, some sellers find their items on page 17,29?

I *think* all has been straightened out. Crossing my fingers. You wouldn't believe some of the actions the "help" folks told me to do; very bizarre stuff. Now I'll go read up on the things you've tipped me off to. Thanks. Adele
