I am trying to list an item which is copied from a present listing. During eBay preview I receive following error:
"A processing error occurred while previewing your listing on eBay.
The venue ebay has possibly returned the following message:

Error 353: Java script not allowed.
Your listing cannot contain javascript (".cookie", "cookie(", "replace(", IFRAME, META, or includes), cookies or base href."

This is very strange because present listing is visible in the eBay.
Does this have something to do with eBay's new policy to turn off active content?

Hello,

I apologize for the confusion. This does not have to do with eBay's new policy. The java script restriction has been around for some time now. However, occasionally eBay mistakes something that is not java script for java script (such as the word "cookie" in a cookie jar listing).

I took a look at your account and was not able to locate any errored listings currently in pending. Please let me know the title of the pending listing that you are having trouble with so that I can take a look.

Hello,
Thank you for your fast reply. The item in question is now in error state in my pending auctions. I did not realize it can be an issue of either the title or the description.

Another question is the eBay's new policy for turning off active content. To my understanding this includes both Vendio Gallery and Buyer Appreciation. Must theese be turned off in the future?

Hello,

It seems the issue is with the word "Reval" in your item description. For some reason eBay is associating this word with javascript. After temporarily removing it from your item description I was able to preview the listing without error.

Please note we are actively working towards ensuring that all of our services are compliant with eBay's upcoming policy change for active content. There is no need to turn these off - we are working on making sure they are compliant.

Hello again,
Thank you again for your fast reply and explaining the eBay active content situation.
Item is now successfully listed.

I only wonder why eBay was not showing the second picture. I had to remove it from the listing and add these 2 manually.

Also, when I checked items at eBay there are numerous with REVAL in listing title.

Regards,
Kari Saaksjarvi

Hello Kari,

Unfortunately eBay does not publish how they search listings for potential eBay listing violations. Sometimes they will search a listing for a specific term and sometimes they will not. However, once they find a term in a listing that they are not allowing, they will usually continue to search that listing for that term.

I apologize, however I am not understanding the issue you are having with images. Could you please let me know the listing number and more details about the problem?

Best Regards,
Nate W.
