When the Ebay Outlook shows no posts I know it's pretty much a ghost town. I rarely list on ebay and when I do it's just to fill my minimum freebies and the free listings the ebay gods feel like sending me. Sell through rates are pretty laughable. I have about 100,000 postcards to unload. Sigh

I got top rated seller status for a month which is impossible because I don't do tracking. Then I realized it was because I didn't have any listings for a couple of months. So, a newbie seller can get top rated status while an experienced seller like me with over 50,000 eBay sales, can only be ASS (above standard seller). That stinks!

Sign in if you are still about...love to hear from you all. I miss the water cooler days!

I also miss my water cooler time. I was only occasional poster and more of a lurker, but keep looking for new threads and find none.
Maybe everyone is too busy listing and shipping to share posts! Lol.

well,I am still selling on Ebay.
Ebay plays games with its sellers, rotate us in and out so we should all be grateful with a few crumbs ,I sell mostly low price items on Ebay.
I recently open a shop on Bonanza,it just pulled the items from my Ebay shop and update it daily,so what is sold on Ebay is removed from Bonanza, but not vice versa.
So far I sold 2 items.
I dont have great expectations from Bonanza but low maintenance,I cant complain and no fee unless item is sold, give it a try !
I even sold 2 books on AMZN,with this rate,it would take me 20 years to sell all my books!
Cheers to the coming Holiday !

Oh,lets not forget with the busy holiday seasons, comes scams and frauds, and missing packages !
Just be careful,I received 2 counterfeit checks which look so good,I have to take them to the bank and ask them to verify ,they are drawn on large national banks and issued by legit companies, unfortunately they are printed somewhere with fancy printer ,fancy check stock with magnetic ink routing and account number on the bottom, one even have a fancy security gold logo by the officer signature!
I will be sending packages by USPS priority mail as days get closer to Xmas, one never know what the weather will be like and how many flights wil be cancelled, postponed, delayed or rerouted?
Cheers!

I still check occassionally & have posted a few concerns, but when no one responded I figured this site was dead. Glad to see there are still a few folks around although it looks like the prospects for getting wealthy are slim to none on Ebay. I hope to break even & get rid of inventory, mostly items from my parents' estate. I know my children and grandchildren are not interested in collectibles, vintage dolls & toys, etc. seems to have been a time that has passed & I doubt I will live long enough to see it return.

Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, Prosperous New Year to all!

neglus I was talking to a friend about you the other day. She sold some patches and want to know if she could do the label with eBay without tracking etc. I recall when they 1st started all the tracking stuff - it almost destroyed your business. EBay will never learn that one size doesn't fit all.
I still sell but not as much either. We still live in 2 places and that makes it really hard.
I tried Etsy which is cheaper but didn't sell but a few items.
Anyway Merry Christmas to everyone!!!!

Hi merrie mp and ebabe and w gonzales! Glad to see there are a few peeps checking in here and to read your updates.

ebabe - not sure whether the tracking/"top rated seller" issue is what did me in. Truth is I just lost the drive I had in earlier years when my fees were lower and sell through higher. I went through a lot of fees before I finally decided that there were more important things in life (ie: husband retired, grandkids, etc)than sitting in front of a computer working my tuckus off for low returns. As they say, you have to list to sell and I just haven't been listing like I used to. Ebay is completely wrong in awarding "top rateds" sellers (using their parameters) with more visibility, especially in collectible categories where the key is finding the hard to find- not the most commonly searched. In fact, if you pay for a listing, it should be visible all the time (not when Jupiter is aligned with Mars or whatever the heck time it shows up) and it should be on Google. Period. Exclamation point.

The problem Ebay has with Google is that Google deems Ebay as a site of inferior quality.

I still check on these forums a few times a day. Usually, I do not have time to login to post anything, because there always seems to be a problem that I am working to fix.

It is great to see that a few of the original group is still around.
