Looks like they went belly up.

The people at FTPplanet.com sure didn't like them.

Why am I not surprised?

At least to of the major players from Carnaby were with Pixie.

What a bunch of BS from those guys. I figure they took a few wealthy friends or relatives for some money with their 'pot of gold' schemes.

I am sorry for crashing the party -

PixieToys is alive and well. We did have a hardware issue earlier today, but have it under control.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank our wonderful membership, and to let them know that we have new and exciting plans we'll be unveiling on the 26th of June.

Regards,

Dear Toollady,

It is possible that it may not be resolving in some areas yet. We had to change the IP address of the site, and it seems that it has not started to resolve in all areas. My apologies,

Leo

As Yogi Berra once said "This is deja vu all over again". When Carnaby and Grab A Bargain went down in the middle of the night without warning it hurt a lot of loyal sellers that helped build the site. I hope this isn't a repeat of that sad situation.

Let me guess, another planet, maybe a whole universe of Pixie sites.

Looks like better than 50% of the merchants already jumped ship or planet hopped.

Please don't keep us in the dark, what exciting plans will you be unveiling on the 26th of June?

I wonder if anyone has ever defected to Cuba? Ya just can't start up new auction sites every so often and expect followers to come. Who ever has auctions of this site better be sure to have them backed up on disks, just in case.

We made an announcement last night that the operation of PixieToys/PixiePlanets will cease effective June 25, 2003. Gail and I have joined forces with a talented and motivated group that is fully dedicated to the Online Auction Community (OAC). Through this relationship and commitment we can service the OAC in full force and with complete dedication.

Initial details of our plan has been mailed to the PixieToys membership and will be disclosed at greater length during our grand opening/ribbon cutting ceremony on June 26 in Orlando, FL. Members of the OAC and the press are welcome to attend.

We'll provide additional information and point of contact details in the form of a press release early next week.

Best regards,

I don't get it. Pixietoys is alive and well and going away as of June 25th! That is very strange.

Honestly, it has felt more like "The Turtle and the Hare".

All kidding aside, this new venture is both the culmination and the start of many years of hard work and commitment to the online auction community.

It is easy to look back, but we prefer to look forward and continue to serve this wonderful community.

Apparently not many cared as Pixie World or whatever it was called had a very short lifespan.
