Is anyone policing the site? Heck, it shocks me to find out you were actually looking at the site. Policing. Yah right.

The MPAA monitors ebay and yahoo, but I doubt they know the other sites exist.

HI apparently this seller was on chat last nite, ioffer had ended it,,seller relisted as an informational listing,,looks like ioffer ended that one too.
lots of new stuff at Ioffer, site redesign, many new people too Made a very nice sized sale yesterday.Lots of ebay buyers coming over, not just sellers.

I've sold quite a few things there and some buyers are finding the items through a Froogle search. The redesign of the free stores would be a great thing so there is not a two section screen and lots of mandatory scrolling. The site does have many great features, especially for sellers with many items. Buyers can search the stores with a search box in the store and sellers can search AND manage their entire inventory with a search fuction founder in the my ioffer section.

Just went to Froogle and searched for Ioffer. Yes, it seems to be a viable site, just needs a little more pr.

I notice they don't ask for a checking/savings account.
They asked me for a credit card, how do you get the money transferred to your bank account?

You pay them a comission, not the other way around. It is not like Half.com but more like ebay. I'm certain the comission is often circumvented by the sellers.

Continuing --
What is the commission scale?
When/if the item sells, do they send you a bill to pay the commission?

Huhm, that's not a very effective way to get paid, do you think? Seems they would follow Half's example and take a cut of the sale.

that is the way, ebay & all the sites do it..half was different...

i think ioffer is going to take off bigtime..

go to www.ioffer.com see 1.BUYER & SELLER TOUR 2, SITEMAP 3. FAQ ( fees & other info)
read & learn how it works..

good luck..
ps sell.com is easy to list, neat site not many sales,,seems very small..
ioffer is a lot bigger than most alternate sites with quality stuff not all recipes or anything...they will be on yahoo's tail very soon. free to list worth a try..
remember you have to put keywords of what you sell in nice sentences on your profile and store or you will not get those search engine hits not much too ask.
they do the froogle feed of all your items but they get you in all the search engines not just froogle that is the best part. so you are hopefully promoting your items with your email signature,on chat boards etc yourself, the traffic from the site & the big one is the traffic from all the search engines & froogle feed.

you said you listed some to try ioffer...great..
I see some here have said
they tried ioffer and did not do well, selling is
very competetive nowadays you need to do the extras efforts at any site to sell in slow times
..put a link in your email signature to your listings or store,if you have an ioffer store use the url below put your id at the end..it is a link for your email, message boards etc.,
www.iofferstores.com/YOURIOFFERIDGOESHERE

Some people try a site, list only about 5 items, they don't put enough info in their listing.like shipping, how they ship etc.,if they take paypal..you need to do this to make every sale possible.
Also at ioffer you NEED to
type in your description "NOT AN AUCTION USE BUY NOW OR MAKE AN OFFEr" many buyers at ioffer are new from ebay..they do not get it ALL BUY NOW OR MAKE OFFERS SO type in top of your ads.
.You should type we combine shipping, see our other items too.Mention they should "VISIT OUR IOFFER STORE"(on multiple sales you save commision fees,if they buy multiple items in the store not you don't pay on each item just the total it is less) you need to do this stuff to get your sales going.
Ioffer is not an auction..no bidding,,no bids..some complain "we got no bids at ioffer" IT IS NOT AN AUCTION..all buy now or offers..

To try ioffer or any site,to be fair list about 30 items(be sure there are not 100 others there
selling the same item)give it 2 months to see how it goes..JMHO

Ioffer gives you an *ABOUT ME TYPE PAGE* called a profile,,you need KEYWORDS of what you sell in the profile and in your store..(you get a customizeable free store when you list 2 items automatically)
YOU NEED KEYWORDS OF WHAT YOU ARE SELLING..AS IOFFER PUTS YOUR PROFILE PAGE,STORE AND YOUR LISTINGS IN THE SEARCH ENGINES LIKE GOOGLE,YAHOO,ETC..to bring you buyers from the net..
they also do the feed to FROOGLE..

EXAMPLE OF WHAT to put in your profile page, these are keywords of what you may sell,so people typing these words in the search engines will see the link to your stuff!!=MONEY
example:We sell vintage books, housewares, porcelain,cd's,toys, gifts, handmade gifts, antique tin toys and more.

if you just say,we LIKE TO SELL NEAT STUFF..YOU WILL BE LOSING THOSE SEARCH ENGINE HITS
not one search engine will pick you up under that word.."stuff"you want buyers of what you sell..right?
takes time for engines to visit your profile & store, ioffer does it all for you, will not happen in 5 days like some people expect.
Put a paypal logo if you use it,put it on listings, store,& profile.
use mrgrabber to import your feedback too(free)(on home page ioffer,is new MRGRABBER,HE imports your feedback rating from ebay ,yahoo & amazon.
(if you have listings at these sites you can import them and mirror your items at ioffer,if it sells end the listing at ioffer no hassle..i suggest put make an offer on any you do this with,so no one can come & buy now when you have a bid somewhere else.

On home page is HOW TO SELL HOW TO BUY..READ THEM

ps titles &descriptions are so important in sales

don't put your title
"intage book good condition",,use for example;
Clean 1920 Vintage Stamp Collecting Book nice gift
see??huge difference..many buyers are from ebay, they offer 1.00,,don't be insulted never delete an offer for being too low,,counter back it's fun, that is what it is about it is ioffer..right?
LOL
..some sellers get insulted AT A 1.00 OFFER
,buyers need to learn how it works.best to put a price instead of make an offer, froogle search engine only shows ones with a buy now price..

Put price a tiny
bit above what you will accept
so you can come down a bit for the fun of negotiations..or just put a buy now price only on listing form check not negotiable..

Ioffer has sales leads they are
want ads, list right off the ad & ioffer emails the person with a link to item you list!
They have buyer alerts,,tons of kewl stuff read the faq very different than half or ebay( use MYIOFFER page link top of every page on the site, this is where you
edit store,profile,manage all your stuff)
good luck
FAQ PAGE HERE http://www.ioffer.com/help/help.jsp
hope this helps you good luck.ps
LOL I AM NOT ON CRACK really
