Established in 1993 as a heavy metal fanzine, Sentinel Steel entered the metal mail-order business the same year. The Sentinel Steel Records label was created in 1996. Sentinel Steel went online in 1999 and partnered with Paypal in 2002. Sentinel Steel has consistently been ranked #1 by the editors of Maximum Metal.
