About Us
|
Noah Kelley was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL) in the fall of 2007 when he was 5 years old. He was pretty sick that first week but thanks to the love and support of a lot of amazing doctors and nurses as well as friends, and family, he is doing much better today. Noah is still on chemotherapy and takes pills every day and will continue to have regular spinal taps until he is almost 9 years old.
Over the past two years there have been a lot of organizations and people who have turned a very difficult time for our family into one where we often feel overwhelmed by the generosity and kindness of others. Recently Noah expressed a desire to help other kids like himself and so industrious as he is, he organized a garage/bake sale that raised almost $2000. In addition to the garage sale which made our local news, (story at: http://www.9news.com/rss/article.aspx?storyid=121751), Noah designed a t-shirt that describes his experience with cancer. What happened next was totally unexpected. Noah's shirts started selling so fast that we were having a hard time keeping track of them.
All of the money we have raised will be split between three charities that Noah has selected. They are The Gabby Krause Foundation (http://www.gabbykrausefoundation.org/kids.html), Make-A-Wish Foundation of Colorado (http://wishcolorado.org/), and The Children's Hospital Oncology Clinic (http://www.thechildrenshospital.org/).
This site is dedicated to both raising awareness of childhood cancer and raising funds for organizations that have direct and often immediate impact in the lives of those children who must fight this terrible disease. We can all make a difference in the fight against cancer. Hugs, smiles and words of encouragement are just as needed as financial support. Our hope is that everyone will follow Noah's example and turn the table on cancer; Boo! I scare cancer too!
