The carving is superb and depicts the daily life of  tribes people from one of the tribes living along the Sepik River in Papua New Guinnea. The board was carved in a village there by one of the natives- I'm not sure what the wood type is.  This is a beautiful piece and would be perfect for anyone who is into primative art.   The board is aprox 52" long and 26" tall on the taller left side.
