Up for your bidding pleasure is this rare and beautiful Charles Albert bloodstone, sterling silver pendant! Bloodstone is particularly rare in Albert's collection and it is a type of green jasper, that is a semi-precious stone, akin to turquoise, jade and lapis lazuli. I suspect this pendant is approximately 15 years vintage, which would be from the earlier part of Albert's career. This a very LARGE pendant, measuring 2 3/8" x 1 1/4" and it's in great pre-loved condition! "Bloodstone is a green jasper dotted and feathered with bright red spots of iron oxide. According to the legend of Bloodstone, it was first formed when Christ's blood fell and stained some jasper at the foot of the cross. Bloodstone is said to be a a stone of courage, bringing mental, physical and emotional renewal by releasing blockages. It is said to be particularly good for helping emotional traumas and grief.
