Demetrius Martin is the youngest author signed to Second Time Media. He is set to release his anticipated debut book, I Really Miss My Dad,  a self-help book that Demetrius developed after losing his father in June 2010 to a violent act. The book demonstrates different feelings that children may exhibit after losing a loved one and a lesson on how to deal with those feelings.
“I’m still sad, but I want to help other children that are going through what I have dealt with. I would tell them to be strong and it will be ok soon. It takes some time to feel better but just remember all the good times you shared with that person.”
Demetrius plans to tour the local school districts and partner with non-violence groups to put a stop to senseless violence. Demetrius will not be defeated by this tragic event in his life. He is turning tragedy into triumph!
Demetrius was recently recognized by the Urban League of Detroit and Southeastern Michigan with the prestigious “Do The Right Thing” Leadership Award and by the Detroit City Council with the “Spirit of Detroit” Award.
