Note that on the current full download versions, Sales Manager Pro will by default install into a /Vendio directory rather than a /AuctionWatch directory.

  • What is the best way to update to SM Pro from an earlier version?
The best and simplest way to update Sales Manager Pro is by using the auto-updater. If there is an auto-update available, Sales Manager Pro will notify you of a newer version and manage the installation for you.

If you are having trouble with the auto-update, you may need to download and install the full version. Click here to proceed to the download page. Note that on the current full download versions, Sales Manager Pro will by default install into a /Vendio directory rather than a /AuctionWatch directory.

  • What if I just upgraded Sales Manager Pro and can no longer find my old batches and images?
When you upgrade, you must install the new version into the same directory as your previous version for Sales Manager Pro to locate your existing batches, inventory, and images. If you have already installed the new version into a different directory, you can still copy your old files manually.

Use Windows Explorer to locate your previous version, and copy each of these directories (copy the entire directory plus contents): /batches, and /images. Use Windows Explorer to navigate to your new version's directory. The default location is /Program Files/Vendio/. Paste the 2 directories into the new version's directory, and use Windows Explorer to copy the inv.dat file from the previous version's /data directory. Navigate to your new version's directory and paste the file into the /data directory. Open Sales Manager Pro and your batches, inventory and images should now be accessible.

  • How do I save an auction item to my online inventory using Sales Manager Pro?
To save an auction item to your online inventory, first create an inventory item in Sales Manager Pro. As you list your auctions from the inventory item, simply create a separate item to send to your Store. It is not necessary to enter a quantity available for Store items - you can upload an item with zero available in the Store and use the resulting inventory item as an auction item when you are ready to list (note that you will need to enter the venue site-specific information in the inventory item online before you launch.)

  • Can I use Sales Manager customized templates in Sales Manager Pro?
You may use customized templates in Sales Manager Pro, but you must create and save the template online first (you may do this in a newly created or pending Sales Manager listing, or from your eBay Site Specifics under My Account.)

Once you have created and saved your template online, synchronize Sales Manager Pro, then close and reopen the application. The saved template should now be available in your Sales Manager Pro template list.

Yes, every item launched to your Vendio Store will also be put into your online inventory.

  • If I have only one item, can I list it as an auction and a Store item?
We recommend that you do not list an item in more than one venue if you only have one item as Store fixed-price items are not linked to auction items. This could result in multiple sales of the same item.

  • How do I bulk-edit a batch?
To bulk-edit items in your batch, simply highlight the items you wish to edit and click the "Edit" button. You may highlight multiple items by holding down the "ctrl" or "shift" buttons on your keyboard as you click the items.

Once you are in the edit screen, you need only revise the data you wish to edit in all listings - you do not need to fill in every field.

Note that listings of different formats (eg. fixed price, auction, Store) cannot be edited together. You must edit each different listing format separately - for example, if you have 10 items in a batch, and there are 5 auction listings and 5 fixed-price listings, you will need to edit the 5 auction items together (in bulk) and the 5 fixed-price listings together.

Your Inventory contains listings that you have stored for future use. • What is a profile?
A profile is a way of storing different default information to be applied to listings as you create them. For example, you might have a profile that specifies buyers pay actual shipping, you'll ship internationally, you accept money orders/cashier's checks, personal checks, your location and you want to include this items in the gallery. You can apply this profile when you create an batch listing or inventory item and the profile will fill in all that information. You can also attach profiles to inventory items. Profiles will save you from having to fill in the same information repeatedly.

  • How do I create a profile?
From the Sales Manager Pro screen, choose Edit > Profile Manager. Click "New Profile" and fill in your standard information. There are no required fields for a profile, so you can enter in as much or as little information as you like. Save the profile with a descriptive name. You can create as many profiles as you like.

  • How do I see the inventory items that use a particular profile?
In the profile manager, choose a profile and click View Items. This will show you all the items that use that profile. You can also open the Inventory List and sort the Profile column by clicking the gray Profile header.

  • I applied a profile to a batch listing and then changed some values in the listing. Why don't the changes show up in the profile?
Changes you make in a batch listing only apply to that batch listing. To change your profile, go to Edit > Profile Manager, choose the profile to change and click edit. Make your changes and save the profile. Changes you make here will change the profile, however, changing the profile after you have applied it to a batch listing will not change any values in the batch listing.

  • When can I use a profile?
You can use a profile when you create a batch listing or when you create an inventory item, however, profiles work slightly differently with batch listings and inventory items.

For a batch listing, you apply the profile to that listing by choosing the profile from the drop down menu in the upper right and clicking "Apply". This will fill in the batch listing fields with information from the profile. You can edit those fields and the changes will apply only to the listing you edited.

For an inventory item, you attach a profile with that item by going to the second tab and choosing the profile. No fields are filled in at this point. Fields are filled in only when you place that inventory item in a batch.

  • In an inventory item, how do I override the category set in the profile?
You may have specified a category in the profile you are using with your inventory item. On the second tab of the inventory item window, you can override that category for this particular item. If you know the number of the sub-category, you can specify that instead of going through all the menus. To override the category, check the box next to the site and select the new category. You cannot select a category until you have checked the box for that site.

  • Why does my Sales Manager Pro inventory seem to run slowly?
If your Sales Manager Pro inventory seems to be loading or operating slowly, this indicates a system resource problem. In this case, we would recommend utilizing batches to manage your inventory instead of the SM Pro inventory module.
