You will most likely be uploading your images from your hard drive (a.k.a. your "C" drive). Your hard drive is where you store stuff on your computer (all your programs, letters, pictures, etc.) Once your image is saved on your hard drive, uploading is a piece of cake!
Step 1: The first thing to do is to make a new folder on your "C" drive, so you can put your pictures in it. You don't have to do this, but it might make locating your images easier for you.
- While your pointer is on your desktop, click the RIGHT mouse button. You will see a pop-up menu.
- Highlight the word "new" in the pop-up window with your cursor, another pop-up menu will appear.
- Highlight the word "folder" in the pop-up window and click. A new folder will appear on your desktop.
- Name the folder (choose something that you will easily remember) as soon as it is created. When you save your images from your image editor, save them into this folder.
Step 2: Now you are ready to upload.
- First, log on to your Vendio image hosting/counters control panel.
- Once you are logged on, you will see a page with tabs linking to image hosting, counters, ePostcards, and the message center. The image hosting page should be open.
- You will see a yellow button near the top of the page labeled "upload a new image". Click this button.
- You will now be on the upload images page. You should see three empty boxes, each with a button labeled "browse" next to it. Click the top browse button. A pop-up dialog box will appear labeled "choose file".
- The dialog box will display a list of the directories in your computer. At the bottom of the dialog box there will be a bar titled "files of type" with a down arrow icon next to it. Click the arrow icon and click on "Pictures (*.gif, *.jpg)". If there is no "Pictures" choice, choose "All Files".
- Go to the bar at the top of the dialog box titled "look in:" which has a down arrow icon next to it, also. The dialog box should be open with the contents of your desktop displayed. If this is not the case, click the blue and white button to the right of the bar (this will bring you directly to the desktop directory).
- A list of the files on your desktop will be displayed in the open area of the dialog box. Find your picture folder and double click it.
- A list of the image files in your folder will now be displayed. Choose the one you want to upload and double click it.
- The file path will appear in the box next to the browse button. If you want to upload more than one image, repeat this process (you can upload three at a time if your connection will allow). When you are done choosing your files, close the dialog box and click "upload".
As soon as the image(s) are successfully uploaded, you will see an automatic display of the images. You will also see a thumbnail of the image on your image hosting page. If you see a broken image icon, or a red x, that means the image(s) did not upload correctly. DO NOT attach images to an auction unless you can view the image on your page!
That's it for uploading images. If you'd like, you can read about Attaching Images.

WebTV Users
Many of our users are WebTV users. The process of uploading from a WebTV unit is different from the process of uploading from a computer. This tutorial is geared toward our WebTV users.
- The first step is to log on to your Image Hosting page.
- Once you are logged on, make sure your camcorder or VCR is connected to your WebTV Plus unit. You will see red, white, and yellow input/output jacks on the back of the unit. Connect your camcorder or VCR to the INPUT jacks.
- Now, scroll down the page until you find the (blue) video camera icon. Click on this and a pop-up with a "window" will appear. (If you have figured out how to add images to your e-mail, this screen will be familiar to you.) Once you turn on your camcorder/VCR, you will be able to see the video display of your camera/tape in this window.
- Prepare to capture your image by placing your cursor over the "FREEZE" button on the screen. Make sure your display is centered in the window and hit the freeze button when your image appears. If the image is unsatisfactory, simply click the freeze button again to un-freeze the image and repeat until the image is to your liking.
- Once you have an image that is satisfactory, place the cursor over the "ADD PICTURE" button and click. You should now see a thumbnail of the image. Click the "UPLOAD THESE IMAGES" button.
The next screen should display a full size image with an "Image Upload Results" notation. Beneath the image, you will see a link to the list of images in your account. The images will have numerical file names that will end in .jpg. At this time, you cannot name your files - the system automatically generates a numeric file name.
That's it for uploading images. If you'd like, you can read about Attaching Images.

Attaching Images to Your Auctions
Once your images are uploaded, you are ready to attach them to your auctions. You can attach images and counters to new or existing auctions - in fact, you can list your auctions directly from our site if you are using Amazon, Bidnow.com, BoxLot, eBay, or Collecting Nation. Here are step-by-step instructions on attaching images to new and existing auctions.
Attaching images to a new Amazon, Bidnow.com, BoxLot, eBay, or Collecting Nation auction.
- First, log on to your image hosting control panel. You will see a list of your images with 3 gray buttons at the top and bottom of the list labeled "attach image", "attach image & counter", and "delete".
- Select the image(s) you want to attach to your auction (do one auction at a time) by clicking the box to the left of the image file on your page.
- Now, click the "attach image" button if you want an invisible counter, or the "attach image & counter" button if you want to add a graphical counter to your auction.
- If you selected the "attach image" button, at the next page you will need to select the auction site from the drop-down menu on our form. Also, select "new auction". Then click "continue". Your auction will be assigned an invisible counter that you will be able to see and edit from your counter control panel.
- If you selected the "attach image & counter" button, the next page will be the counter page. Select the counter style that you want, and then click "continue". At the next page, select the auction site from the drop-down menu, and select "new auction." Then click "continue".
- If you selected Amazon, BoxLot, or eBay, you will next see the listing form for the auction site. Simply fill out all the information, click "preview listing" or "review". If the listing is satisfactory, click "submit" and you are done!
- If you selected Bidnow.com, or Collecting Nation, you will be prompted for your auction user ID, and once you submit that information, you will proceed to the listing page. Just list your auction, submit it, and you are done.
Attaching images to a new "other auction site" auction:
- First, log on to your image hosting control panel. You will see a list of your images with 3 gray buttons at the top and bottom of the list labeled "attach image", "attach image & counter", and "delete".
- Select the image(s) you want to attach to your auction (do one auction at a time) by clicking the box to the left of the image file on your page.
- Now, click the "attach image" button if you want an invisible counter, or the "attach image & counter" button if you want to add a graphical counter to your auction.
- If you selected the "attach image" button, at the next page select "other auction site" from the drop-down menu on our form. Also, select "new auction". Then click "continue". Your auction will be assigned an invisible counter that you will be able to see and edit from your counter control panel.
- If you selected the "attach image & counter" button, the next page will be the counter page. Select the counter style that you want, and then click "continue". At the next page, select "other auction site" from the drop-down menu, and select "new auction." Then click "continue".
- At the next page, you will see directions and a url ending in cleardot.gif. Below that will be a "box" of html code.
- You need to copy and paste the url into the picture url field of the auction listing form. Then, copy and paste the entire box of html into the item description field of the auction listing form (if you need directions on how to copy and paste, check our FAQ list.) In order for an auction site to be compatible with our site, the item description field must accept html as well as text.
- Now, submit your auction, and your image/counters should appear beneath your description.
Attaching images to an existing auction:
- First, log on to your image hosting control panel. You will see a list of your images with 3 gray buttons at the top and bottom of the list labeled "attach image", "attach image & counter", and "delete".
- Select the image(s) you want to attach to your auction (do one auction at a time) by clicking the box to the left of the image file on your page.
- Now, click the "attach image" button if you want an invisible counter, or the "attach image & counter" button if you want to add a graphical counter to your auction.
- If you selected the "attach image" button, at the next page select the appropriate auction site from the drop-down menu on our form. Also, select "existing auction". Then click "continue". Your auction will be assigned an invisible counter that you will be able to see and edit from your counter control panel.
- If you selected the "attach image & counter" button, the next page will be the counter page. Select the counter style that you want, and then click "continue". At the next page, select the appropriate auction site from the drop-down menu, and select "existing auction." Then click "continue".
- If you selected Amazon, BoxLot, or Other Auction Site from the list, you will need to copy and paste the system generated html into the Item Description field of the auction form.
- If you selected Bidnow.com or Collecting Nation from the list, you will need to enter your auction site ID and auction number in order to proceed. Once you have entered your ID, you will need to copy and paste the system-generated html into the Item Description field of the auction form.
- If you selected eBay from the list, you will need to enter your eBay ID and auction number. At the next page, just check the Item Description field to make sure that the html got transferred, submit, and you are done.
