I am really sorry people are so crooked you had to do that. I take it your dear heart has not found the thief of your splitter and run him through the machine? Or a chipper works nice also.......

Hello Gravid, no we have not found our splitter yet and to be honest I don't really think we ever will. Part of the reason we purchased a property with acreage was to set up our yard from home, but once we moved here we did not want to spoil the land so we never bothered to move our depots. It is unfortunate that it has taken a theft to spur us on, but that is the way life is sometimes and we will just have to live with it I guess.

It is freezing cold here today and my phones have been running hot, I have both fires burning and am trying to get some warmth in my office. I am just sneaking out for a little while to have a break and a read. I will try and get back tonight if I can.......see you later.

Hi gang! I thought I'd pop in and give an update as I won't be able to stay up late anymore. Yes Netta, I got an answer. I'm supposed to start back to work tomorrow. But I never got a hold of the nurse, so it will be delayed a day. I'll know more tomorrow after I've talked to her, like what my schedule is since I'll be on half days for awhile. In a way I'm really nervous about it. Not just because I've been gone for a year and do I still know how to do my job? But also because I've been having a lot of pain again the past several weeks.

Oh yeah, and there is something seriously wrong with our one and only car. I was driving it the other day and as I was getting on the freeway, it was vibrating so hard I thought I had a flat tire. So I immediately pulled off and checked. No flat, but still vibrating. Hubby took it to get the tires aired up and checked out (I was thinking maybe a bubble in the tread, I've had that before and it's somewhat common here because it's so hot). They said the tires were fine. A friend of hubby who's mechanically inclined, took a look and thinks it's something to do with the suspension or wheel assembly (in other words, possible very dangerous to drive). So, hubby is taking it to the dealer tomorrow to have it checked/fixed. We don't have a choice since Mom's truck was totaled and I pray it's not more than a couple hundred dollars.

Why does it seem everytime I am about to go back to work something comes up? I keep wondering if the universe is trying to tell me something...

Hello, I have just popped in to wish Mouse a great start back at work. Now don't stress over it, I am sure that everything will flow back to you once you are back in the saddle so to speak. At least you are starting gradually and not having full days all at once to start with. I am sure the bosses will start you on easy thing to begin with, just to let you feel you way without too much trouble. Good Luck.

It is almost 8 pm and my phones are still ringing, it really annoys me that some people think they can ring anytime of the day or night to place an order. Today when I went to do my shopping at the local supermarket, I ran into one of our clients and she was trying to place her order with me while I was shopping. I told her to phone me tomorrow and I would take her order. I know she was not really meaning to be rude, but sometimes we have to gently remind them that we do have a life away from work, and I was shopping for food to feed my family, so it was not really the right time to be taking an order for her heating supplies. It is kind of funny when you think about it I suppose.

I will be around for a little while and will check back later to see if anyone is around.

Just up early to get hubby off to work. I'm thinking of actually going back to bed for an hour or so.....
Has your package arrived yet?

Hi Roxw I haven't forgotten you, but I do tend to get sidetracked lately. Sorry I have not replied to your email, I have a stack of them to reply to, and I promise everyone I will do so very soon. Now that message is for Rox, Zilvy, Mybid, Enchanted and anyone else I may have forgotten.

So Rox how did you like your parcel?? What did you like the best?? Mine has not arrived yet, but I will keep an eye out for the delivery man, he has been very good lately and bringing them all the way up my driveway, mind you that is what he is paid to do, but sometimes they get a bit slack and leave the parcels at the bottom of our drive and it is a bit of a hike to the mail box for the house.

I have not been to bed yet, it is only 11 pm on a Monday night. I still have a few things to do before I call it a night.

I have to say a special wishing prayer for Bob that he wins his big game in the morning. So...........everyone say a special prayer or whatever you say, so that our Bobby Boy wins his big Golf Game tomorrow. Good Luck Bob we know you can do it.

Ok, now it's in synch. I give up.

Also forgot to say hi to Gravid! Your posts about Netta's splitter are splitting my sides! Especially the chipper comment. I do believe the more you hang out with this crazy bunch Gravid, the more silly you get. And I mean that in a good way!

Arghhhhh! Everytime I come back, my cheerleaders are on a different bounce schedule.

Update on the car: The shop said it just needed the front end aligned and the tires balanced. They think the front tires were never balance right from when we bought them. So they did the alignment and said take it back to the tire shop for the balancing. Ok, that didn't cost as much as we thought it might, but it's still money we didn't really have to spare. Then hubby got a check in the mail today for, get this, almost exactly what the alignment cost us! How's that for getting something right when you need it??

I haven't driven it yet, but hubby says it's still shimmying pretty badly. But that could be the tires not being balanced. So that's the next thing, go yell at the tire shop and have them rebalance them for free.

Update on going back to work: Finally got a hold of someone this afternoon. She knew almost as much as I did about me coming back, meaning very little. It seems the nurse (who is to process me back in) is on vacation this week. So I'm supposed to get a call in the morning from the secretary. I may go back as early as tomorrow afternoon. I thought I'd pop in and let everyone know before I toddle off to bed and try to go to sleep at a reasonable hour.

I'll see you all soon!

Yeah you do get a little punchy early in the morning hours. I vote to feed the guy in feet first so he can get the max benefit of seeing it coming.....But then I really don't like thieves.
I am understanding MS because I may actually have to go get a JOB and work again for at least awhile. It will be hard after so long off, and like her not really feeling well most days.

Hey Mouse!

Glad to hear that you're getting into those Bix Bars!

Sounds like you're still having a bit of the run around in regards to work though...

Sorry I haven't been in much lately - I've been under a bit of stress lately. I'm feeling a bit better now though.

Good news - I have an interview tomorrow for a job I've applied for within the company I'm working for at the moment. That's a good sign - means that my resume and skills test must have impressed so keep your fingers crossed!

Yeah what Michelle said.........Well did you win or not, are you coming up to the real Sunshine State of wonderful Queensland, this is a very important question and I MUST know the answer.

I heard from Rocker again today and she is as mad as ever.......She does promise to come in and visit some time in the not to distant future. Actually she has had a full house, her new roomy has moved in and she also has someone else staying with her at present as well. Jan says she is starting a new show next week, so that should be exciting for her.......I will keep you posted.

Pharlap, I am sorry I did not mean to ignore you.......well not completly anyway. LOL So what was the interview for? I saw some company that has a call centre on the Coast that is employing a heap more people, even after it put off a lot of others in a different centre. Is this the same place you work for, I can not remember what it was called, but it was only a very short name I think, or at least it may have just been initials in the name of the company. I saw it on the news the other night.

Hi Nettak!

Yes - that's the company I work for. It's a pity about all the job losses but thankfully being the national call centre we're safe here (in fact employing HEAPS more staff - thank God! Lighten the load a little )

The job is in the IT department. All I care is that I go somewhere where I can get off the damn phones!!! I'm suffering from a bit of burnout at the moment. My doctor wants me to leave (says I'm on the verge of a breakdown) but I don't think he understands that I do need money to pay the bills!!!

He's put me on meds which thankfully aren't making me feel sick so I'm feeling a bit better at the moment. To top it all off my Nan's in hospital with a fractured spine so things just got a bit too overwhelming...

Oh goodness Pharlap, you sound like you need a holiday.......I had a feeling that it may be the same centre you work at that was on the news.

How did your Nan hurt her spine?? What have the doctors said about it, will she be alright and how old is she?

I can understand about phone burnout, my phone has been ringing constantly for days on end now and I get a bit shitty at times with some of the charming people I have to deal with......... The phone has been ringing tonight and I have pretended that I can not hear it, so my husband has to answer it. LOL He hate doing the phone bit.

I would dearly love a holiday! The last time I had a week off was nearly two years ago now No chance of any time off at the moment as we're so busy...

Nanna had a fall about 3 months ago (she's 89) and we think that this was when it happened. She called us at 1am last Friday morning saying she couldn't move (luckily we got her that cordless phone she carries everywhere with her!). We were at the hospital all night with her and she didn't get admitted until about noon!

I had to go to work that morning and as I had only one hour's sleep I was a bit stuffed and emotional I can tell you! They sent me home...

To top it all off I got into work on Saturday and read an e-mail that I had to come in and do compulsory overtime on my two days off (today and yesterday) for training in another department! I had plans end everything (not to mention that I'm already feeling burnt out without having to give up my days off!) and I completely lost it!!! I'm not the type to cry in front of people but the last couple of weeks I've been crying at the drop of a hat Boss sent me home and that's the afternoon when I went to the doctor...

'Tis not to be.

Got beaten on the third play off hole, so no free trip.
However, I think me and the missus will take a holiday in Queensland later this year, so we'll keep that dinner date!

Pharlap, I cry at the drop of a hat as well, but I think it could be for different reasons. Ummmm that is unless you are going through menopause as well. LOL Sorry I could not help myself. I have found that I prefer to laugh than to cry.......I hate that feeling of having no power over myself.

I hope all goes well with your Nan, I understand only too well how you must be feeling. {{{{hugs}}}}

Bob, oh well never mind, the most important thing is you tried.

I and my fellow Queenslanders on the board will be honoured to have dinner with you if you do come on up to our neck of the woods. Poor old Pat didn't win either, but gee he was very gracious in defeat. Did you see the tennis?

Okay Pat may have gotten the tray instead of the cup, but you know I really don't think we had a loser at all, do you. They were both great and really both of them deserved to win. The only thing is that only one of them could have the cup and the other got the tray. It is times like that, that you can really see a true sportsperson at work, and the real meaning of sportsmanship, or at least that is what I think.

Just think of all the extra rounds you'll have to endure improving your game so you can try again next year, Bob! I'm sure that's going to be really tough for you...

And with you spending all that time on the course, your beloved surely deserves a holiday

Good luck, tomorrow pharlap - fingers & toes crossed for you!

Hi Michelle, Good to see you. Hows the little one?
It's Mrs. Bits birthday tommorow, so we're going to have a day out, do lunch somewhere and generally have a good time.
I've had to hide her birthday present in my golf cupboard to stop her finding it!
