I really loved Babylon 5, but it was never cancelled, it ended. It was an original concept by Harlan Ellison to create a series that lasted only five years then ended.

Sisters was a great show!
There was another one from some years back but I can't recall the name of it. Maybe someone else will remember? There was a huge family and a lot of animals. Wish I could remember who was in it, but my mind is blank (what else is new).
I think the kids were adopted. Anyone have any idea why this is in my head? :0)
Oh and I THINK it was set in Florida. I remember alligators.
Anybody? I'll check back tonight in hope that someone might know what in the heck I am talking about.
