No I don't think he acts that way just to act that way. He's insane, much like Hitler was.
what's he got to lose by acting like the movie star/singer he wanted to be?
I have to admit, I hadn't heard about this. I don't keep close tabs on insane criminals.
I see him being a scapegoat in many ways.
I don't see him as being a scapegoat. I see him as being a cult leader. The only difference between him, Jim Jones, David Koresh and that other Heaven's Gate man (what's his name?) was that they didn't leave the compound to murder anyone. Same drugs, same cult mentality and same thinking. Manson took it one step further (before their time) and killed others. Why? Because they themselves didn't want to die. He didn't want to die. Senseless killings. Drug induced? I don't think so. I think they're all as guilty as he**, drugs or no drugs. I've seen the women on tv and they're all nuts. They still love him. Gives me the creeps.
Only if wanting to know if the trial was bias. If this group was a bunch of drug-free, clean cut Harvard graduates, I wonder if they would have been treated the same?
I'm sure they would have, but I really don't think that's a good comparison LOL!
If Joe Schmoe had killed his wife and hid his knife and clothes, etc and then claimed innocent, do you think he would have gotten off as cleanly as OJ? Money talks and sometimes it shouts. You can't compare the Manson case with clean cut Harvard grads.
JMHO2 and so was the nothing more important to say. Time to lighten up

"I had the pleasure of meeting this man. YIKES! I was scared to death and didn't even know who he was until after the murders. Soooooo, do you want to hear the story!!
I was 17 at the time now I am a grandmother. My friend and I were hitch hiking on Sunset Blvd in Hollywood. (not making this up) and he and some of his buddies picked us up. I think there were 2 females and two males in the car. The car was a big black something out of the 1920's. We got in and asked where they were going and no one
would speak to us. We asked several questions, and all we got was silence. Finally I freaked out and started screaming that I wanted out of the car. This went on for several minutes before the driver pulled over and let us out. Not ONE word was spoken by anyone. About two months later there he was in the Paper Charlie Manson".
Hate to burst your bubble, but Manson and many of his followers were arrested in Oct. 1969 at Barker Ranch in Death Valley for crimes not related to the killings, and lanquished in Inyo Co. jail until brought to LA county jail after being connected to the killings in May 1970.
There's no mention of any cruising around in Los Angeles before their arrest and obviously it's not possible that they did so from the death valley jail afterwards.
Did I give a year or a date Nope! This event was not in the papers, nor was his every move. And do you think they knew where he was every day prior to the murder. Which was very close to Hollywood. I was there be glad you didn't get the opportunity! Keep blowing those bubbles LOL!!

You said a couple months later he was in the papers. The papers didn't bother with him until after the killings. He was in the slammer so that was probably me that picked you up.
