Here, here, Pharlap is emancipated, sorry it had to be so extreme, but,
Good On Ya, for taking care not to go completely bonkers. You are bound to go
on to better things. Best of luck.
Mousey you do take great pictures...I love Gunther, he is a pretty dog, and he
looks happy, happy, happy! Imagine, being the
only pup with all those Kitty Katz! When I was in Phoenix, many years ago, it was the first time I had seen a double rainbow...I have seen two since then here in the east.

How are you holding up with the work schedule, does it seem weird or are you getting used to it?

Netta we had a tree felling incident, a pine tree that was 83' high had to come down as it was blocking dish reception. I was soooo scared, it just missed our 26' sailboat which is up on stanchions by 2-1/2 feet. It was either that or risk taking out the SW corner of the house. It all worked out but
I was a wreck...especially since hubby anounced 3 or 4 weeks ago that he was going
to do this. He hitched a cable to the tree
and one to the trailer hitch on our truck, a
neighbor did the pulling....HE was nervous. In the first picture you see this pole (he has trimmed off the branches) so the 83' does
not include a 3 foot stump that he left.

and this one close up boat to the left.

Hello Zilvy, you poor thing I understand what you went through with your husband chopping that tree down. They all like to think that they are supermen and can do it all by there lonesomes. You can not help but worry when a man has a chainsaw in his hands. LOL Greg does this sort of thing all the time with work but I still worry about him everytime he is out with the chainsaw at home. As a matter of fact I can not watch when he is working even when it is at home. They get into He-man mode and off they go.

My husband went and spent almost a $1,000 yesterday on harnesses that he tells me are needed, I will have to take his word on it, because I really do not have a clue. I said to him that some of the things he got looked like some of the things he already has, but he tells me that they are different and that this stuff is special safety stuff. Okay I believe you........But really I think some of it is just for him to play with.

We had truck loads of soil come in yesterday, to level out a bit in the back for the depot, next week we will have the gravel and road base delivered, and the week after that we should be all set up from here. Not too shabby hey. When the boy puts his mind to something it is all systems go.

Gravid did you get your job, let us know how you went.

Mouse how are you doing with work, is it any better now after a couple of days back?

Pharlap, what have you been up too, are you still vegging out or have you started to think about courses yet?

And where is Bob?? Are you out there playing golf again mate, or just putting around, and what did you do to the Ute? Have you found a trade in, and what sort of car are you getting now?

Well it turned out different than I thought.
They want someone to come in on call all odd hours when the regular people can't show and I would not get the full benefit package I had hoped for but the wage scale is still pretty handsome and the work is fairly easy. I might work 40 hours one week and 24 the next. I could still do eBay easy. You have to go through a set series of stops and starts with timed idling between and then a run up to 75 mph and back down all timed out pretty close. They are having trouble with the drivers spining their wheels and throwing the tire balance off all the time. It all goes counterclockwise and you have to always pass to the outside. There are other vehicles on the track doing other things and sometimes it is actually crowded even in the middle of the night. The inner track is high speed and banked very steep.
She took me around at high speed and wanted to make sure it would not freak me. I said nah - no worse than 696 at rush hour. My boss would be this woman that interviewed me - a little fireplug of a lady and real fiesty.
They refer to her as Mother Goose. I think I will still take it if they call me in the next couple days. Out of her hands now. They have to do a deep background check for criminal records and financial history.

Gravid, that sounds "groovy" and with the admiration you have for women, your mom and wife I think that as long as this gal knows her stuff you wouldn't find it a problem reporting to a female. I know I come across as kind of ditzy in some my posts but not too long ago I was the sales manager for an international office equipment company and had anywhere from 15 to 20 men reporting to me...even the old guard came around when they realized how serious I was about making all their sales count toward big bucks for them with good training and follow through.
I wish you good luck if it is meant to be.

Oh yeah - no problem with that. I have had a woman boss and a black boss - don't mean anything. Of course if they are a jack ass I won't cut 'em any slack for being female /black/ transgendered or poka dot.

The ute has gone!
I've spent the last couple of days looking for something else and parted with my ill gotten loot this afternoon.
Don't Panic, I bought a big Ford station wagon. Still enough room in the back to deliver the grog to the party! (and put the golf clubs in).
This is a bit flash. I'm still trying to work out what all the buttons and knobs do!
Some car dealers are funny. Most of them didn't want to do a trade on the ute. One of them even offred to pay me if I'd park it on his competitors lot instead of in front of his own yard!
I know it was rough but I didn't think it was that bad.
Anyway, I've gone civilised. Even got air conditioning.
Vroom, Vroom.

Hi guys' how are you both tonight?

Bob you will not be able to smoke while you have the air con on because it will circulate throughout the car and sometimes the smoke blows back out the air con unit., into the car. LOL Hey I suppose that might not be so bad, you get to smoke the same ciggy twice. LOL

I went to an auction today and good lord I should not be let out of the house. I spent so much money, that it makes me shake everytime I think about it. Anyhow I got some great things and now all I have to do is sort it all out and take my time to list it properly. I even got some things for my own collection, and the funny thing is that I got so much stuff I had people coming up to me and asking me where my shop was. LOL I just said that I had not opened it yet. Well what else could I say. You should have seen Greg when I got home, he did not know whether to laugh or cry at the amount of things I wheeling in on the trolley......oh yeah I took the trolley with me today, the first time I ever bothered, so maybe I just knew that today was going to be a big day.

Hey Bob you should see one thing I got, it is a tea pot and sugar bowl with creamer, and let me tell you it is the ugliest thing you have ever seen, so I just know it will sell well. LOL I think they called it an English Little Old Lady Tea set, they should have called it an Ugly Little Old Lady Tea Set. It is enough to frighten little children.

Okay I just took a couple of pics to show you what I mean. They are not very good because I was not in the right room to take them and the lighting was not good enough. But here goes.

Oh and Bob I have been meaning to tell you, that's a pretty mean looking mask you have.

She says it frightens her.

I am not sure of the makers name it just says "Little Old Lady" and a reg. no. and made in England.

But you are right it is somewhat cool looking in a different way.

I did not see what the mask was in the end, I saw it when you first put it up and though it was mighty strange looking , ummm I have to admit I thought it might have been something a little different to what it was. You know a mask yes, but not for the face. LOL

Hi Gravid, I think they have her arms tucked up under her coat. Or if you really look you could think that the handle could be one arm with a hand on the hip, and the other a wagging hand, you can not see this bit but she has a handbag hanging off the spout. So I think that is meant to be her arm.

Good lord I think I need to start spelling lessons again.
