Oh - OK that blob must be a handbag and her arms are under her shawl. Yup - should sell real well as ugly as it is. Almost as bad as the recent devil cat.
Being sick is not as stressfull when youy are unemployed. You are not sweating the boss being put out.
Say what you want about eBay there are still some things you can't get any bargin on. I neededa small air compressor and bought it on Amazon.com because they offered better choices/price and free shipping.

Hi Netta I see the old Lady Tea Pot is feeling a little under the weather, being bilious green and all, looks a bit like Queen Victoria doncha think? I love the fact that I can see she has her brelly with her
like any good English Lady. I had one similar
(mottled brown, I think) made in Burlsem, England....don't think there was a manufacturers name. This ought to sell well, as I always say to my husband, UGLY SELLS!!

Hi gang! I thought I'd pop in and say hiya.
I have to yell at Netta for sneezing on the keyboard too, I've been sick since Saturday! I've missed the last 2 days of work too. Needless to say my new supervisor is not real happy with me. No matter how I feel tomorrow, I'm going to have to go in. I think if I miss anymore work this year, I'm in deep doodoo!
Congrats on the mask there Bob! I didn't get a chance to see it. I think you're right about the green lady Netta, it'll probably sell high! I must gloat a little myself. have slowed way down on listings the past week or so (FLD about killed me!) I only had 2 close with winners last night, but one went very well.
Oh, and thanks for all of the compliments on my pictures! That's my passion.
*it seems none of us can spell today...it's all Netta's fault too!

Yes it is too bad that what they need are employees and all that is available are people. As if you wanted to catch a miserable virus just to make their life more complicated. If they could go to all robots they would find out they break down also.
Hi all - here I am in the middle of the night and no Aussies sitting around nibbling veggamite on crackers. I am afraid this thread is petering out.....

Hey up ^^^^ there DON'T YELL AT ME or I will cry. These days I can cry at the drop of a hat, let alone if someone yells at me.
I had to go to the doctor today, and I started to blubber while I was talking to her, it is a good thing she understands where I am coming from, and it is a good thing she did not think I was bonkers either. As a matter of fact she just calmly said to me, 'well because I know you and because you are normally such a calm person, I know you really don't need valium.'
I am not a tablet or medication type person, I have a real problem with remembering to take them but I do have to remember to take my vitamins or else she may want to make me take something else, or she may want to give me a big needle. OUCH!! She thinks I could have virus of some kind.....
Now Gravid never fear about this thread peatering out, it will always be dug up again if we do happen to slip off the page at some stage. It is winter over here and we must get lazy or something when it is cold. It is only 6:20pm over here so it is still a bit early for some to be posting. I am only in here now because I had to check on something for my husband.

Hi Gravid! Nah, it's still a bit early for our Aussie pals to show up. They should be along in the next couple of hours or so. I honestly think why I got sick is because I've been pretty much cooped up in the house for months and months. So I haven't been exposed to viruses or changes in temperatures. I think what happened is the going form the heat outside to the a/c air inside back & forth got to me. I just hope I get my voice back soon! I had to have hubby call in for me today because all I could do was whisper. Did you hear about your job yet? It sounds interesting, you'll have to tell us all about it if you get it!
I have another couple of pics to share with everyone and then I have to get to bed so I make it tomorrow!
Ok, some of these came out quite large, so I'm just going to do links this time. The first group is of the geckos that hang out around our house and keep the crickets and other bugs away.

Those Gekos are so neat. I can see the caning through him. Sorry we are too cold to have any lizards here. I am looking forward to seeing Juerrasic (spelling?) Park III in a couple days and seeing some big lizards!
We had a alligator someone released in a lake near here last week and the animal control people went out and netted him but he is a lot more than they are used to dealing with and he shredded their net and left..If they don't catch him the first freeze in the fall will finish him.
Nettak - Good for you to be able to blubber.
I was raised the same as Seminole Indians and a hand put across my mouth anytime I cried. I was unable to cry for decades and would just throw up instead. It has only been in recent years I have been able to throw off the conditioning and have a good sob and it really helps get over the feelings driving you.

Mouse love your transparent geckos.

have never seen light skinned critters
like that in a daylight situation.
Very pretty little guys and gals. Now
were these on the inside? How do they

Gravid There you go with throwing

Oh phooey, I forgot to say where the geckos are! Remember our fallen bougainvillea? They like to hang out behind it on the sunscreen over the office window. That way they get shade during the day, and at night the light in the office is on most of the night, so that's where the bugs are attracted to. I finally figured out the bug angle the night I took those pictures. As I stood there waiting for a good shot, a bug was flittering on the screen and one of the geckos came out and nabbed it!
So I had a great start to my day and a horrible ending. I don't know if I said anything about KD (our cat) getting out last Thursday night. She'd been gone for days and we couldn't catch her. I figured it was a matter of time before she got hungry enough to come home, like the other 2 times she pulled this. Well, this morning Mom went out to take out the trash and KD came up and asked her to let her in, so she did. Now let's see if she managed to get pregnant this time. Needless to say as soon as the income around here gets stabalized again, she's going right into the vet! I'm glad she's home though and I don't have to worry anymore. Poor baby though, Gunther (the dog) followed her around for hours sniffing her and generally giving her a hard time (he knew she'd been a bad girl ).
Ok, now for the bad news. I think I said something the other day about how our car had developed a vibration. Hubby took it in to the shop and they aligned the front end. Fine, I figure it'd needed that for awhile, but it didn't solve it. They said the right front tire needed balancing. So I took it in to Discount Tire for that. The guy checked and said no, the back tires were going bad, the tread was seperating. Aha! That was my first thought when this all started. He said be careful, they're about to go. Ok fine, those tires were bought elsewhere and sisnce it's a workmanship issue I wanted to get it covered under the warranty. I'd had a tire replaced at Discount for free for the same problem before, even though I'd had the tire awhile. Well, Sear's (where the 2 tires in question were bought) would only prorate them. Hubby then went to Costco, they said everyone prorates, except Discount Tire. So fine, we'll go back to Discount, it's where I've always gone as long as I've been driving and I trust them. Besides, that's where we bought our last 2 tires, so then all 4 would be from them.
So I had to borrow the money from Mom this morning and had planned to go straight to Discount on my way home from work. I was on the freeway, 3 miles from the shop, and one of the tires blew. Ok, I know how to change a tire, but with my back there was no way I was going to be able to do it myself. It's hotter than heck outside and it's a loooong walk to any kind of phone. Then I remembered that Mom's cell phone was in the glovebox! Whew, thank goodness!! So I try to call home and guess who's online. I did finally get through and hubby came to my rescue, just as the highway patrol showed up too. I finally got home safe and sound and guess who gets to go to the tire shop first thing in the morning.
posted on July 18, 2001 09:31:20 PM newMouse I am soooo glad nothing really disasterous happened and that you were at least aware of needing to be careful.
So your knight in shining armor showed up
and fixed your flat...good timing. It seems
to me that my SIL mentioned if you breakdown
and the police get to you before a helper
does they have you towed due to the heavy
traffic. She also tells me that out there
you are hardly ever allowed to make a left
hand turn...that must make driving difficult.
When we were out there in 87 she did all
the driving and I just never noticed that
situation.
Boy, you certainly have had enough grief to
last a long, long time, I hope you win the
lottery or something else really good happens
for you.
I'm doing a happy dance, Tigger had his
checkup today and his diabetes is under
control and the Vet said he really looks
good and has gained just a little weight
which is ok but keep it in check...I wish
I could do so well for myself...but as I
tell hubby we are the only reason that cat
will ever get overweight, cause he can't
open a can or plastic container of dry
food...hubby equates love with snacks so
I have to keep nagging him. He really
takes good care of the pets and now that we
only have one our Vet says Tigger will
probably live a long a healthy life...she
has taken care of our 19 and 20 year old
kitties in the past.
posted on July 18, 2001 10:45:08 PM newZiiiiilvy!! Hiya pal! Yep, I was very aware about the problem and my daddy taught me well. As soon as it blew out, I knew it and immediately pulled over. I never lost a bit of control, and that's what I was the most worried about. I'm actually glad it happened when I was driving versus hubby because frankly, he's not the best driver. I was just lucky I was at a place I could pull over safely, another quarter of a mile and I would have been on an on ramp with a very narrow shoulder.
The DPS officer that stopped was very helpful and I think if I'd been alone, he would have changed it for me rather than have it towed. He knew how to get the jack out of it's hidey hole (neither of us had ever used it, and they aren't all the same). Like I said, I know the how-to's of how to change a tire (thanks to Dad), but I would've killed my back for sure if I'd tried. The officer said they see it all the time, so he learns all about jacks and such all the time. He hung around until we were all done and got us back into traffic. I got off at the very next exit to go make sure the spare was inflated properly, and he got off when we did.
When this whole tire/wheel thing came up, Tony had driven out to Tempe to a friend's one night. A buddy checked it out and thought it was the front wheel, and that there was a possibility that it could come off. He also told hubby that the more times he stopped, the worse it would get. So hubby was paranoid to drive it home that night. I finally talked him into coming home (I seriously doubted it was that bad), so he drove 30mph on the freeway all the way home. Needless to say, he got pulled over for going too slow. So he explained the problem to the officer and the officer followed him all the way to his exit, which was several miles. Another nice guy. We've been blessed this week with DPS officers!
I don't know about if they will tow you before a helper comes as long as you're with the car. I know they tag abandoned cars and tow them pretty quickly. I guess the message there is go make your phone call and hightail it back to your car! The only place and time you're not allowed to make a left turn is on 2 major streets in the center of town during the 2 rush hours. They turn into a regular lane going one direction in the morning and the other direction during the afternoon, but you can't turn left at intersections. I got confused on one of them one day. I thought the lane was going the other way and I needed to turn left, so I was in the regular left lane. As I started to turn, I saw a big Suburban coming uo in my side mirror, so I knew I was going to get hit before it happened. I basically turned in front of him. He flipped me around 180 degrees and over 3 lanes. Talk about scaring the crap outta me! Oh, and i was driving on a suspended license and had no insurance (it was dad's truck and they couldn't afford the insurance at the time). I thought for sure I was going to jail, but the cop said he thought I'd had enough for one day and let me go, as long as my friend that was with me drove.
Oh, another piece of bad news this week...Hubby had pretty much given notice at work to leave at the end of August figuring the new business would be going full steam by then. Yesterday he got the word that they're going to let him go at the end of July! I'll admit I'm scared to death since I'm barely back to work, still not full time and still have problems with pain. The good part is hubby's reputation in the field he's in is strong, and people are always trying to offer him a job. I just hope he has the damn sense to take one if the business isn't up and running soon!
You know what Zilvy, you're right about the grief lately. Maybe I need to go buy a lottery ticket or something! Surely something's gotta change for the better soon!
Oh, I'm happy to hear the good news about Tigger! With just one animal it should be easier to keep his diet in check. When we had to take Charlie in for her sore foot a few weeks ago, we had to put up all of the food all night. I thought they were all gonna attack me! I worry about Buddy getting diabetes since he's so large and was a stray for a time, so I'm sure his diet wasn't the best. But we're really good about not giving them too many treats, so hopefully that will help.
Ok, I have to go run and do a few things, I'll be back in a bit!

Sorry I was busy emailing someone.
It is pretty on and off order wise, we either have all or nothing, it is the strangest season we have ever seen. We have had suppliers coming at us left, right and centre wanting to sell to us. But we have more than enough supplies for now because it has been a stupid season.
So how was your birthday, did you get lots of presents and wonderful things.

I keep meaning to answer Zilvy's question as to why I have been a cry baby lately. Actually you have just about hit the nail right on the head. It is a disgusting thing to go through.
My doctor also knows that it would be a waste
of time giving me a script for drugs or sedatives of any kind, because I would just
not bother to take them and she knows it. LOL
I would rather try and get through this with
natural things not drugs. At least that is my aim for now.
And if I have one more person say to me that I am too young to be going through this, I am likely to murder them. How the hell would they know if I am old enough to go through it or not, because obviously my body says it is time and that is that.
I feel like blowing a big Ttthhhhhhp to anyone who gets in my way, or who upsets me.
My sons do not even come near me lately, and my husband is too afraid to open his mouth. Actually he puts his foot in it on a regular basis.

It might have been a $3m game I am not certain.
