I wonder how Bob's cold is going. I
hope it is a bit better by now.
I have had the sniffles again today, but I
think it is just the change in the weather
that has made it freshen up again. With luck
it will go away and leave me alone.

No I have been having some problems with it for a few days now. I was trying to put some pictures in image hosting yesterday and it just refused to load them. It took me about 2 hours to load 25 pics. I did not know if it was my server or AW, so I just kept trying and eventually got there.

BTW it was not just you that was having problems with AW. Just after you last posted the whole site went down, but it was not down for too long so that is good.

ZiLvY - Sorry it took so long to reply but I could not get in for a long time yesterday. It said they could not access the data base.
I keep bringing up about the Seminole because my Dad grew up with a bunch of them. Their customs and stories effected him a lot. So it is no scolar;y interest but family tales.
I just sold some things again to a fellow in Australia. He is in Perth. That is the other end from you guys right?

So Bob did you get your auctions up and going after the little hold up last night?

Work, oh now there's a four letter word! It seems my sick time is nonexistant, where I should have 16 hours to cover the 12 hours I missed this week. Since I don't seem to have it, I also won't get paid my 12 hours of disability pay either. So, I am going to lose 24 hours of pay. I'm not a happy camper and I see many phone calls in the near future trying to straighten it out. My theory is they're treating me as a pt employee, but should be considered a ft employee with full benefits because disability is paying me the rest of my hours to make my pay ft. Did that make any sense? I swear this whole journey has been a pain in the behind!
So anyway...Are you feeling any better Netta & Bob?? I'm getting there, but by the end of the day my throat starts to really hurt still.
How are you liking your 'new' car Bob?? It's just not the same around here without the ute out front! Speaking of cars, I finally got my new tires today. I made hubby go first thing this morning because I refused to drive on the donut spare all the way to work! It was nice to have a smooth ride again.

Hi Mouse, The cold is on its way out thank goodness; just back to a bit of a sniffle. It was a doozy when it was full bore!
The new cars going great. I'm really happy with it.
I scored a beauty of an Art Glass vase today, the trouble is I can't find out anything about it. I've posted a help thread in EO to see if anyone can enlighten me.

I will have to go and have a look, did you put a picture up in the EO. I was thinking of asking if anyone knew anything about my ugly old lady tea pot. I am told that the china board over at ebay might be the place to ask, I am not sure.
Sorry you are having dramas at work Mouse.
I am not really sick, I am more just very moody and I swing from being nice to being in my daughter's words a horror and everyone needs to hide under a rock or whatever until I am calm again. Lovely isn't she.
Oh well I am sure they will all survive it.

I'm glad to hear you're on the mend Bob and enjoying the new car!

Hello everyone, how are you all today? I went to some garage sales this morning and what a waste of time. The first one was at 6 am.......total crap, and I mean that in the nicest possible way, it was garbage and over priced garbage at that, the second one was a deceased estate and I should have known what to expect when I saw all these people coming out with empty hands. They had a table full of books, you know the good old BBQ recipes ect, an old fridge and a couple of other things that are not even worth talking about. I will not bore you with the rest of them, but let us just say I should not have bothered to get out of bed this morning. It is enough to put me off for life, I keep telling myself that it just makes up for the times when I get bargain after bargain. Hopefully by next week it will have sunk in and I will want to get up and go garage sale hunting again.
edited because I had one too many 'everyone'.

nettak, I must have gone to the same sales as you. Didn't buy a thing.
Great if I was after Tupperware, babyclothes and scraggy looking pot plants but that was it.
The number of sellers who hold things hostage is incredible. Nobody is ever going to pay the ransom money!

nettak - What really burns me are the sales where the house is half empty or half of the stuff is piled against one wall with a not for sale sign and you can see the relatives cherry picked anything a normal person would want to have and decided to sell the rest instead of calling for a dumpster that is were the junk belongs.
I have even asked a few -"What gives here? Do you folks not have trash pick-up around here?"

Bob I never even saw a piece of Tupperware, or even baby cloths for that matter, just junk.....There are a couple on tomorrow and I am still thinking if it is worth even looking.
Gravid, doesn't it just cheese you off when it is just rubbish that belongs in the dump. That is the kind of thing that I saw everywhere I went this morning and these people thought they had a gold mine in the making. I don't think so.

I couldn't even imagine going garage saleing this time of year here, too damn hot! Besides, I don't have any extra cash to replenish my stock right now. I do still have quite a bit from my find last month and from another perusal of my closet. But I've been so wiped out from going back to work, I just don't have the energy to list anything. I'm planning to relist some of my FLD items that didn't sell tomorrow. But then again, I've been saying that all week.
So it's hot and muggy here right now, I finally got my new tires (although they still need to be rotated since they didn't do it when the new ones were put on ) and KD finally came home! I guess we'll find out in a month or so whether she hooked up with a boyfriend who is still, ahem, intact this time. On one hand kittens in the house are always a pleasure, but I hate adding to the overpopulation problem. Needless to say if she does have kittens, I'll have lots of pics to share!
I hope everyone is doing well and getting over their bugs! See you all soon.

I must have get Zilvy tatooed on my forhead!
Today was a scheduled FUN DAY!! First in a couple of months where the Mr & I were going to head up to Ogunquit,Maine & walk the Marginal Way (a rocky path overlooking the ocean) and have Lobster in the Rough on the ocean.
Started a little later than planned, hit a traffic jam ya wouldn't believe at 12:15 heading north on Sunday, unheard of but everybody and his brother was at the toll gates at the same time. 50 minutes to go 4 miles...breathing exhaust fumes in 95 degree weather with no air conditioner in the car!
I suggested that instead of going all the way to ME we get of at Portsmouth, NH and have lobster there on the water. Ok, a lot more commercial but still on the water eating good food.
We bump into another couple of antique dealers and spend some fun time catching up with them. Then we head home................
We are going about 60 mph when all of a sudden the car just quits and we coast into the breakdown lane.. No amount of trying gets it to restart, I am fairly sure it is the timing belt.
Fortunately we have our cellular phone with us and call AAA.
Well, after 1 hour and 15 minutes in the direct sun a jovial, non smoking AAA driver arrives and I get to ride home in air conditioned (albeit crowded) splendor GMC 2000 Truck. He was from our area even tho we were 80 miles from home, we actually had a fun time laughing and joking almost all the way home. We have the plus AAA which covers you for any number of tows up to 100 miles per tow. Boy was that worth it today otherwise it is 3 miles no charge and then $3.00 per mile......All's well that ends well, even tho it took a while to get the answer, "Yes we're having fun yet?"

I just can't take this heat like when I was young. We are at 76°F right now at 4:30 in the morning, but the humidity is at 96% so if you go out the sweat has your shirt plastered to your back before you can get the car chilled down.
I went to an auction Sat. and there were only a couple small things I might bid on, but it was so hot the sweat was pouring down my face
even though I had a bandana tied around my head under my panama hat. I just gave up and came home stopping at a few sales on the way and let the car run to stay cold. I am sure I did better anyway.
I found a pair of the Checkpoint label programming guns that print the high security radio - sensing labels that can be detected at the door. Two and extra batteries and chargers for $14. One of the batteries is worth that. Five door locksrts -new for $10.
Sunday my wife saw the auctioneer and he said it was OK under the tent but he forgot his hat. When he got to the tools and farm machinery under the sun it was over 90° and he about died.
I bought a quilted cloth on sellyouritem.com that has chemicals in it that are supposed to hold water and allow you to soak this and drap it around your neck like a bandana and it will stay cool for hours - not like a plain cloth that will dry out in a few minutes.

I can definitely relate to your not being able to tolerate the heat and humidity. We have done the Brimfield Flea Market in the past summers when it was in the high nineties with super high humidity.
Potential customers were walking around like zombies, you could have had an item that everyone knew was worth $1200. and told 'em you can have this today for $100.00 and they would still have said, let me think about it!! Fried brains....we always brought gallons of ice water, iced tea and lemonade with papercups to share...even though all that was available to purchase people would
be so far gone from the heat they didn't
realize they needed liquid.
One Japanese man, just over from Japan on business...poured the first glass over his head...then we insisted he have another to drink...wet a towel and draped it around his neck (just like a good Geisha would do) he spent $1500 in our booth on smalls!! Good deeds and all that...but it was totally unexpected!
