mybiddness - How wonderful to see your name again.

Boy, that does put a new spin on this story. Thanks for that URL.

Bunnicula - With all due respect to you, I used to think that way too. But for the last couple of years or so, it seems we (the public) can believe what the 'rags' (and non-network media) print more and more. They don't seem to experience the same political pressures to report (or not) the breaking news.

Matt Drudge (The Drudge Report) was the first to report the 'dress' in Clinton's scandal.

The Enquirer first broke the Jesse Jackson affair and some other big story (that turned out to be true also). Just can't remember what the other story was right now....sorry.

So.....I'm beginning to believe they might be more on target than we sometimes give them credit for.

LindaK knows where the dirt is best, yep.

uaru,

Neither Feinstein nor Boxer (two of my FAVORITE people--NOT) have lent credence to any of this garbage; they only said that they felt that he should speak. So what are you talking about?

It's pretty funny that in the midst of this tempest, Condit's people have time to be doing eBay searches for Condit-related items, then calling to have auctions cancelled.

Says a lot for this land where freedom of speech is squelched by one of the very people elected to uphold such principles.

They must be feeling very proud of themselves in the Condit warrroom. Can't stop America from suspecting that the Congressman has done away with a young woman who became inconvenient to him ... can't stop other young women from coming forward to state that Condit's aides are trying to intimidate them into silence ... can't stop police and FBI demands that the Congressman provide more information ... But by God they stopped an eBay auction, yes they did!

LindaK Nice to see you too!

Bunnicula I agree - but, imo one source is about as good as another lately. It's becoming almost impossible to find a truly honest, unbiased and reliable media source.... or politician come to think of it. As I said, I'll be curious to see how this latest report pans out.

LOL! Look who's starting to sound like me! All that about imitation...

But,....where's the info about Condit's aides attempting to intimidate anyone? And what's this about demands for information? Reading the Inquirer now, or has the New York Post picked up the enthusiasm in their continual thirst for yellow journalistic subject matter?

Proof, dears, proof. They're ain't a smidgeon of it.

Sure there will be more money grubbing young women hoping for a piece of the pie. Isn't that the name of that game 'Jump on the Bandwagon!' ? Have you somehow missed my post about the now rescheduled for bus overcrowding " Million Women Who've Had an Affair with Condit March"? Think it was three pages ago.

I honestly don't know what the excitement is about. Power and Sex have intermingled in the literature for over 5000 years. You just now hear of it?

In case anyone here is looking for Chandra, don't concentrate only on the widely distributed media photo of her in jeans. This is part of the police distribution:

I thought that I'd picked up all four of them. The others were same face-different hair, one blonde.

Chandra Pal: She Pushed Pol's Divorce

http://www.nydailynews.com/2001-08-03/News_and_Views/Beyond_the_City/a-120566.asp

Not a surprise to me, considering Chandra's family background and achievements so far. I sometimes wonder what was really going on in Condit's marriage and what he told Chandra about it...hmmm

Condit's support among PAC contributors may be waning

http://www.fresnobee.com/localnews/story/0,1724,287032,00.html

As Condit is/was a crossover Democrat who enjoyed support from Liberals and Conservatives alike, this must really hurt. It'll be interesting to see where the money for his legal defense and public relations campaign will come from.

Condit back from D.C.

http://www.modbee.com/metro/story/0,1113,287069,00.html

Looks like Condits neighbors have a somewhat mixed opinion of the Congressman but agree that the media needs to go.......somewhere else

The picture krs was alluding to might be this one:

camachinist,

The Modesto Bee is a small town farm oriented conservative rag more given to titilizing the residents with reports of water issues, petty crime, and loosely thought out editorial content designed to better sell papers to people who rarely leave their homes other than to go to church bingo events and annual charity sales. Even though the paper may have recently had it's finest yellow hour it's hardly one which could be viewed as a final arbitor of national news or even of local politics. Those are found in greater depth in the parent paper from Sacramento and in that one Condit is hardly even considered newsworthy anymore.

In today's Washington Post there is no mention of Condit or Levy.

I remember that you posted once that the Washington Post was a rag. That's not true.

I suspected that the Bee was a rag...thanks for confirming that Krs.

Feinstein went out on quite a political limb there. Being a practical, ambitious politician...she must think he's toast.

She's been sawing at the political limb she sits on for quite a while. Who needs her sort of wrath of God evangelism? She's been reduced to a one-issue politician by her own vehement anti-gun irrationality and is probably afraid that Condit may have her seat in the senate for the asking. No doubt she was very aware of him long before this came up, and is siezing the chance to destroy him to preserve her own agenda.

I think she's history, Condit or no Condit, because someone else will come along that has yet to go so far as she has in making a fool of themself.

"May have impeded the investigation by not revealing his relationship, blah blah".
No one has ever said just how his relationship with Levy affects the investigation into her disappearance at all.

Feinstein has always gone toward the side of the bread that she thinks has butter on it. Look for her to lose her seat but come back running for a republican seat in the senate. She's a hypocrite--always was. Boxer is a good'en.

Do you happen to live in the Modesto area?

I live in the Central Valley (for 42 years) and read all 3 McClatchy newspapers (Sacramento, Modesto and Fresno Bees) and have found them to be quite supportive of liberal ideas and candidates....check out their track record on issues...

We've had two Republicans as mayor in Fresno over the last decade and the Bee routinely rakes them over the coals (and sometimes rightly so) and actively promotes liberal candidates against them....I think Alan Autry (the Republican who currently holds office) largely won as a result of his name recognition from television (He's from a small town near Fresno). Time will tell if he is an effective administrator and leader...

Happy to see this subject still generates some interest...hopefully they'll be some good news to post here about Ms. Levy in the near future...

Don't get me wrong for saying this, but I was just watching the parents of Chandra and they made thier usualk plea for the cameras. What was striking, however, was the acting job that the parents were doing -- poorly. I think that as long as they can keep the media pressure on the local law enforcement agencies to find Chandra going, the better .. but the acting has got to go!

I did some food shopping yesterday and as always, I glance at the titles of the rag magazines at the counter check-out stand to get a few good laughs. On the front page of the National Enquirer, it accused Condit's WIFE of having a violent brawl with Chandra! So, I guess the Condit angle won't be dropped anytime soon, folks!

camachinist,

I would no more be likely to live in the central valley than I would be to live in Mississippi.

I'll present for your consideration the possibility that what may seem to be liberal in Fresno might very well be perceived as radically irrational conservatism in the societally developed remainder of the free world.

I would further ask that you give thought to the possibility that any opinion given by any resident of your hellish homeland could be given the same due consideration as is awarded the mumbled and nonsensical ramblings of inmates in asylums for the insane.

Sorry about that...

No, I don't think. Not when I've had an accusation made against me of having "alluded" to something when in fact I believed that my referenced photo was widely seen and that I had not been in any way deceitful or mysterious within that reference.

Perhaps though, since all three of the renowned McKlatschky papers are bases of knowledge ever so universal and authoritarian, you could help me by giving answer to a real mystery the solution of having eluded me for more years than I'd care to admit. That is, before she goes to her royal demise can you tell me what the Queen Mother of England carries in that ever present black bag?

It is her birthday, and that has brought back to me that I still don't know what's in that bag. It wouldn't be car keys as she is driven wherever she goes. Not any key, in fact, for there are livery types to open doors whenever she likes. Not money of any form for what would she buy? It's not big enough for her knitting, that is, if she knits. So what is it? Can you run through the archives of the central valley conglomerate of yellow sheets to find an answer?

I posted Chandra's entire police sketch because, as you noted in your post, all of the versions of her face you had intended to appear didn't show up in your post....

I believed that the picture I posted was the one you had "alluded" to and posted it as such...

You're picking nits and this conversation is over....

Odd thing when a person refers to themself as a nit.

The last time I was wondering what might be in that bag a very peculiar Canadian suggested that she has a revolver in there.
