Gravid after I signed off last night around 12:30 I was thinking that I hadn't seen you post in a bit. I am certainly glad that you and your wife are OK. It is such a mess when a car is wrecked. Trying to find a replacement and the attendant costs. Plus of course increased insurance. You are funny tho with the low blood pressure...I think mine would have skyrocketed just from the fright.

Netta, that just sounds so unlikely. Those athletes are very well trained and know what they are doing. I hope this doesn't ruin their chance for the Olympics!
Gravid, I'm sorry to hear about the accident but am very glad you and your wife are ok. I've been in three accidents in my life and I'd just assume I'm not in any more! That is funny about your blood pressure, mine would have gone sky high too!
Zilvy my pal, nice to see you at such a late hour!!

Hi Mouse Actually it is almost 8 AM here, I woke at 4 and coudn't get back to sleep so I got up had a bowl of cereal, made hubby's lunch and dinner for work he's on from 1 til 9PM. He left really early has to get his truck inspected today, he has tried three days in a row but the wait was sooo long.
I am going bonkers with no car. It has to be towed to the dealers on Monday and they won't do the diagnostics til Tuesday then we have to decide what to do. Another car or bite the bullet and hope this one is worth fixing.

What happened to your car? Did I miss something again???
YOu know, as soon as I posted that I looked at my clock and realized it was morning for you. It's almost 5:30 here and I really should go to bed. But my back is hurting, probably from going to the movie. Sitting in those seats for 2 hours gets me everytime. Too bad too, I love going to the movies with hubby!

"I must have Get Zilvy tatooed on my forehead!
The thing that really bums me out is I just spent $380 the end of June to bring her up to par for an Inspection Sticker. Like I'm made of money...just like the rest of you "Rich Folks"!!!

Zilvey - The thing about the timing belt is in an overhead cam engine if you loose it the valves usually are all wiped out because they have to be timed with the pistons going up and down. Hope that did not happen because it is usually about $1500.00. I replace my cam timing belts every 60k miles to be sure they don't break. It is about $450 to repalce them but cheaper than all the valves also.

Hi Gravid, I am only too aware of the problem...I wanted my husband to have the belt replaced about 3 months ago, as preventative maintenance...it turns out that was not included in the work he had done in June....Now we still don't know what is wrong and won't until Tuesday late afternoon.
Course it will probably cost a couple hundred to have the diagnostics run...they get ya no matter what.

Hello Zilvy how are you my mate.
Yes I will admit that I have been sleeping most of the day, and even though I went out for about an hour this morning the rest of the day has been sleep time for me. I think my body needs it's rest to recover from this cold.
It is only 4:40pm on a Sunday afternoon here, what time is it in your neck of the woods?
My cold is affecting my fingers and they hit the wrong keys. That is my story and I am sticking to it.

Hi Nettak it is just after 2:40 in the AM Sunday Morning. I am going stir crazy, no car for going on a week, haven't left the house even to do errands or go to the PO. It was so hot Mon, Tues & Wed that I couldn't go out in the yard to work and then we had rain. Today was lovely but I had a bad night last night and napped or played catch up with laundry and ironing. It turned into a Dora Domestic Day...icky!!
Yes you probably do need the sleep, getting worn down with the flu is nothing to "sneeze" at (I had to say that!)

Well Zilvy I had my Domestic Dora Day yesterday, when I did about 20 loads of washing.....well maybe not that many, but it felt like it at the time.
I heard from Rocker today and she is in fine form, just very busy. She has not been online lately so when she gets time I am sure she will pop in. I do send her links every so often, so she does know that we have not forgotten her. I honestly do not know how she does all that stage work, it must be so tiring for her, if it was me I would probably collapse from fear more than tiredness. Can you imagine getting up on a stage in front of hundreds, possibly thousands of people to perform. I would need to change my duds. LOL
I hope you get your car back on the road again soon, there is nothing worse than being without wheels is there. I hate having to wait to be taken somewhere, I like to go when I am ready not when someone else is ready.
Ooopsy

Oh yes, Netta, you are spot on about going when someone else is ready...when my husband is ready I'd better be out the door or he will leave without me. As a result half the time I forget to take something with me that was important, like mail or measurements for a shade or some such thing. We try to plan our errands so I can be taking care of something while he is down the street doing something else. I always wind up waiting, I hate waiting...and then he always has 3 or 4 things I didn't know about that need taking care of and I wind up sitting in the hot car waiting (when I didn't have a bad knee I'd jump out and join him) but I can't stand or walk for too long at one time.
Darn, I am going to have to tuck myself in my eyes are literally burning I am soo tired.
I hope I can get to sleep before it is time to get up. Larry volunteered to work this Sunday so it will be like any other workday!
You take care of yourself and get those hardy kids to help Mum out. After all the years you've taken care of them when they were sick...turnabout is fair!! {{{hugs}}}

That's what folks like rocker live for, and I think it's fantastic she's got the talent and determination to be living the dream.
Tell her to get herself back here, will ya? I want to talk to her about Hedwig and the
Angry Inch. She was in the New York production and now the show's been made into a movie. I saw the star of the movie on Conan last night and was wondering if Jannie was involved with the film at all.
Back to lurking.

I am with you Zilvy, I hate waiting for anything, sometimes I think I am the most impatient person around. LOL
Greg always takes his own sweet time getting ready for anything and then just when you think, 'oh well I will just sit down and have a rest", he decides it is time to go and I mean run....we have to hurry or he will leave us behind.
I would not be sitting in the hot car, I would be in the airconditioned shop somewhere with an ice cold drink of some kind. I would make sure he knew where I was so that he could not say he did not know and then I would sit in the cool and wait.
You go and get some rest, and I will catch up with you again when you are not so tired and I am a bit better. I will email you with all the news when I feel a bit better.

Hi Spaz, I will tell her to get her behind back in here. You really should email her, she will not let a soul (including me) know, and I know for a fact that she would love to talk to you.
I also think it is fantastic that Jan has the talent to be living her dream, but for me it would scare the pants off me. LOL

Zilvy, I hope you get your car back soon, too! I remember what it was like when I broke my ankle. Yeck! I have a stick shift, and broke my left ankle, so it was about 6 weeks before I could drive! GAWD I went SO stir-crazy! What was funny was it wasn't like I really go a lot of places anywho, but just KNOWING I couldn't get in the car really SUCKED.
Hiya Netta - you keep resting up so you can get rid of that cold already, OK? [mom mode on] and drink lots of fluids, too! Get some orange juice if you can stomache it, the vitamin C will help. Chicken soup oughta' be good this time 'o year, too. [mom mode off]
Oy! It's after 6AM? I need to get to sleep so I can actually spend some time with my baby! BFN!

Well tomarrow I get to stay home and list list list. My wife will take our ONLY car to work and wait to hear from the adjustor to find out if it gets fixed or junked. I hope we can get enough to buy another that is fit to drive. I don't think we can afford a new one unless I engage in some criminal enterprise. Sometimes I wish I had taken that job I was offered - $300,000 a year tax free for a "import export" company that required gunsmithing skills - fluent Spanish and not getting sea sick was a plus. The Federal vacation plan was a bother though.

I am negotiating to list art and 14th century antiques for a fellow who lives on the North Island in New Zealand on a regular basis.
He seems a nice sort and I can give him a good rate as he is talking $10k at a time.

Hi gang! I'm doing a run through to say hi and goodnight. Hubby just came out and yelled at me to go to bed. Do you think me being up all night and day may have something to do with that?? Take care and see you all next weekend if not sooner! (This is my 4 day work-week, so I probably won't be in much this week until at least Thurs. night. )

Hi guys', sorry I missed you all.
Gravid I hope all goes well with your car, and if the damage is really that bad it would be better if they write it off. Most cars are just never the same after they have had a huge hit like yours took. You know that you and your wife are so very lucky that you did not get seriously hurt, Thank god for some mercies hey. I hope you gave your wife a big hug, because I bet she needed it after the crash.
Zilvy have you heard about your car yet, do you know how much longer it will be before you are tootling off down the road under your own steam again?
Hi ya Tigerlady it is always a pleasure to come in and see your posts, we have missed you. {{{{hugs}}}} This is a special gif for you. LOL Sorry I just could not help myself, and do you remember this one.....
See you around my friend.
Now what is Bob up too tonight, and where are you Pharlap, how is the job/course search going??
Mouse take it easy with work and I am sure you will be fine, we will be here when you come in at the end of the week.
