I have been trying to get back in to post for ages now, but for some reason I could not get in. Maybe it is an Aussie thing because last night Bob could not get in, and tonight both Pharlap and I have had problems, so maybe it is our end or something. Oh well, not to worry.

Good lord am I having problems tonight or what. It makes me want to stamp my foot in temper, it is either that or I throw the bloody computer out the door.

Glad to see you back Bob, and I am sure that Pharlap is trying to keep the smile off her face, but your choice of words would make it hard. LOL

Mouse would you like an orange cake or just a plain vanilla ( they are a both a yellow colour, just a shade different), I will give you a double chocolate topping because I think you need it.

nettak - I know such stuff from bad company. Starting with my Father. Have to run - mucho sales today and shoot some pics of these high prices antiquities. I just saw some stuff that is like Vegamite but a different name! I did not know they had competition.
Fellow is offering us a Chrysler LHS for $4100.00 looks nice but a lot of miles.

Gravid was the stuff you saw, that you thought was like vegemite called promite or marmite?? They are imitations and very disgusting. The are more like axle grease, and very yukky tasting.

Well because I have been having problems getting into anything tonight, I have managed to get more baking done then I thought I would be able to. I have to go and check the oven again, but I will try and come back in later if I can get in that is.

I keep forgetting to tell Zilvy that I have been using one of the Herbal Mixtures that you sent me. It is the Southwest Herbal Mix, and even though I am saving some to make some dip out of, I have so far used it on Pasta (that was very nice too.) Last night I put some in a soup that I made and it brought out the flavour really well. I am still experimenting with it, but I will let you know what else I use it in and what it was like. The dip recipe on the packet sound very nice, and I am going to make that up for the first BBQ that we have after winter. I thought I would try the yogurt mix recipe as it is low cal. We are having fish tomorrow night so I thought I would spinkle it on the fish with lemon juice while it is cooking. That should really add flavour to it.

Netta That is amazing that you mentioned using the mix...I was wondering the other day if you had tried any of the dip mixes. I have to say you are inventive and sounds like great use for the Southwest mix. Have you tried the "Boursin" like mix with cream cheese yet. I made 3 batches in a row recently, everyone really liked it, of course they would, cream cheese and butter with goodies added what's not to like?

It was soooo funny, when I was ,making up your box of goodies I looked at the "Boursin" mix and the way it was packaged
and thought...Customs is going to be looking for some "wide rollers" in this box or...they may try rolling and smoking it on their own.

Hey folks!

Wow, what a nice welcoming committee ya'll make. Thank you so much Zilvy, Nettak, Gravid, MouseSlayer and Pharlap for the kind words (I would bold your names, but I tried to do italics in a previous post and it didn't work - will have to practice) I have a feeling that the Smilies and OBB's thread is going to come in handy.

Gravid, thanks for your words of wisdom. I had seen other's post with a sig file stating that their Ebay name was different, and it crossed my mind there might be good reason for that. How do you like my new look?... Did ya recognize me?

For the moment I have only one question. Does this mean I automatically become one of Bob's harem, or is there some sort of application process?

Thanks again everyone - I think I'm going to like it here

Rosie my first thought was....oh no another gal...how will Bob keep up...we don't have to worry about Sir Bob. Then we are fortunate to have Gravid to back up Bob if needed. Rosebids25cents I think you
must have visited my yard sales!!! Marked an item .50 and woman said, "I'll give you .25,
what she didn't hear was "Get outta my face, sweet cheeks as I smiled and said, no thanks!" So, what type of goodies are you interested in?..Netta sells mostly china, Mouse has new and gently used clothing, bitsandbobs has all matter of interesting items, when I sell it is mostly elegant glassware of the depression era...I don't know what Pharlap and Gravid handle, haven't had the pleasure.

Hello everyone.

Gravid I thought it may have been one of those that I mentioned. I can remember some one giving me marmite on toast when I was little and it gagged me then. Makes me want to spit just thinking about it. YUK!!!
My mother used to use it sometimes in cooking for some soups and stew ect., but you only use a very small amount or else the taste would go through everything.

Mouse I forgot to answer you earlier about when the first WSUTL thread started but I think it was around the 15th Jan or it could have been Feb. I do know it was at the beginning of the year. Do you remember that first week, we all posted like silly buggers, and the questions we asked each other about different foods and the language differences. That was a very good time.

Rose, yes you are now part of Bob's harem. LOL At least we let him think he is the harem master, it keeps him happy. (some men are just so easy to please) haha
If you have any good jokes, (of the not to smutty as to get us moderated kind) please feel free to post them, because our sweet Zilvy just loves a good joke. She is full of puns.

Gravid did you decide on a car yet?

Okay I gotta go for now, I will talk to you all later.

I have checked him out better than he would be comfortable to know. Paid a little even. Also on top of that I just acted like it was assumed I would act as his collection agent and wire the money into his account AFTER subtracting my fees and expenses. He MUST be a honest man because he did not bat an eye at thet. It is handy because he is going Saturday to England then France and Belgium for the next two months. Gave me addresses and e-mail addresses for each stop.
I am also acting as his agent to try to get Sotherby's to accept some things of his and do the research to authenticate them as that will get a much better price.
He has a vellum document I am going to sell that is priceless for it's exposure of human nature. It is George the First disinheriting his son to a fictitious third party - the way it works is so complex - but it amounts to lawyers being as crooked then as today. When the third party that did not exist could not be found to inherit it would result in what he really wanted to happen occuring - but he could not really say that to start with. People are exactly the same through the ages.

I found out I will get about $7,500 for the totalled '94 Honda which is very fair and I am real happy with it. It was the EX with the antilock discs and moonroof. Cost $24k+ I am going tomarrow to look at a '94 Chrysler LHS which I would buy outright and be happy not to have any car payment again. It is dark metallic Green with all the bells and whisels and charcoal leather seats - no rust or problems. I think the Black on Black look was a cop magnet - glad to get away from that even though it was sharp. Guy says it gets 28 mpg on the highway which sounds good.
Turns out the art guy also has been a house guest in Florida of a man I worked with 7 or 8 years ago. The chances we would know him are so slim...This fellow had a 120 foot boat with the flying bridge and big twin turbocharged diesels. Radar and satillite navigation and the whole works. I could never figure out how he PAID for the thing as it cost as much to fill the tanks as I make in a month. I am pretty sure he did not smuggle as I used to know that crowd and they did not know him..
Worth keeping in mind they know each other - somehow and I don't know how - yet. The Florida fellow must go some bad places because he has a couple mounts on his boat that a lot of people would not know what they are - but I have seen them used and they are to pop a air cooled Browning 50 cal. in when you are out in the ocean and run into the bad guys. You get unwelcome company close in on you and a burst of tracers across the bow at a couple thousand yards makes the hardiest turn off. Couple times I wished for a 20mm though. Even a big boat is in trouble when you start one of those babys chugging away at the waterline, but what the heck could you do? throw a tarp over it? You might as well mount a 3inch Bofors on the deck and be done with it for subtlety.
Gotta sleep...

cents run girl, run while you still can or the Master Bob will have you under his spell and there is no getting away from him then. He will make your head spin. Actually he is a living doll and such a gentleman too, that is why we all love him so much.

Gravid that is wonderful news about your car payout, is it more than you were expecting? You should be able to get something reasonable with that, shouldn't you?

25¢ - Just in case it isn't clear I am male also - not part of B&Bobs harem - I don't think his tastes run both ways.
I was just feeling Gravid when I made that ID because I am writting a book. There are things more important than sex anyway. For example Bob is a golfer.

Hey Gravid are you sure you are not part of the harem. LOL

We all have different strengths in this thread, everyone has a different part to play and somehow we all seem to fit together really nicely. At times this thread has been like a support group for those of us that have needed a shoulder to lean on or someone to talk to. I think that is what makes this a very special group.

Don't worry Gravid, you're safe!
Golf and sex are similar. One of the major differences is that in one the less strokes you take the better, in the other, the more you take the better!

Went and picked up the '94 Chrysler LHS today - paid the fellow $4,100 cash. I am happy and my wife likes it. I find it feels a LOT better not to be signing loan papers. I have not bought one cash for a few years. He wanted to help me cheat the state out of their sales tax and I declined. It amused me as he made such a point of what a Christian he is - I felt like telling him to "render Ceasar's things to Ceasar". Tomarrow I will get new tires on it. I am not happy with those, and add Tuffoil to the crankcase. It has a few stone chips and dings but nothing serious. The charcoal leather seats are perfect. Glad that is over and done easy.

Ok, I'm trying this again, the last time I tried to post it I couldn't get it to and couldn't get back in!

Hi gang!

I must say you guys never fail to crack me up!

Today was appointments from hell day. I started back up with the physical therapist today and after hearing what all I've been through the past few months he was easy on me. Next was my regular doctor and he actually gave me a new pain reliever! I was in shock!! Next was the dentist to get my teeth cleaned and get that broken one started on before my dental insurance runs out at the end of the month. Turns out I may not need a crown after all! He said if it's not fractured under my old filling, then he can just fill it. That would be a good thing both on the pocketbook and time. But if it is fractured, I hope they get it taken care of in time! I've heard from more than one dentist's office that my dental (soon to be former dental) insurance is one of the best as far as how much they cover.

Now here comes the weird part of my day...I got my severance check stub in the mail today. It was, oh, only about 10 times what it should've been, and more than a year's worth of salary before taxes! Surely there's been some mistake, but I'm almost afraid to say anything! I may take Gravid's suggestion after all. Isn't that just bizarre?? I read it like 3 times trying to figure out what it really said, maybe they added an extra zero? Nothing made sense. So I had hubby come in, sit down, and read it too. He just started laughing...

Ok, I'll be around for a little while at least if anyone else pops in. I couldn't get signed in at all last night, probably just as well or I would have stayed up too late as usual.

Mouse - I'll be keeping my fingers crossed that there hasn't been a mistake! How exciting if it's true!!! Just think of what you could spend it on.... (A trip to Australia to visit us perhaps? )

I had trouble geting in the other night as well. All seems ok tonight so far (touch wood!)

...oh and Bob - I'll stop smiling when you stop giving me reasons to smile! Especially loved that last comment

Gravid got moonburn!Imagine being awakened by the brightness of the moon, we had thunderboomers earlier (again) and then overcast. No moon here.
Hiya Pharlap have you been a happy camper? What are you up to these days? Anything new in your future?
Mouseslayer are you running around the house singing we're in the money!! What do you think they couldv'e done? I know when I "retired" they sent me an official letter telling my about my insurance coverage and how much I would be getting...followed very
quickly by OMG ignore what we said, we made a big mistake. The biggest part was that there was no insurance coverage. That benefit had conveniently changed one year prior to my planned retirement.
I think our gal Netta wore herself out the other day posting to all the boards
cause she can't talk on the phone. How did that soup turn out Netta...and did you make a cake? I didn't get my piece....

Hello everyone.

Mouse that sounds like you have had a very good little windfall, I would keep as quiet as a mouse if I were you. Unless they ask for it back, I say STUFF THEM!! Just sit on it for a little while just in case, but if they do not come back and ask for it by the end of 2 months I wouldn't worry. Can you pay your phone, electricity and house in advance? If you can that is what I would be paying and anything else that has a regular payment plan. Okay that was the practical side of me talking, now the not so partical side says to have a party.......

Hi Gravid I am glad you decided on a car that both you and your wife like and are happy with. That is very important, and at least you did not have to wait for any big length of time to replace your smashed car.

How are you doing Pharlap, that man Bob is a regular laugh a minute isn't he? I really liked his definition of golf and sex. LOL

Well this morning I was going to go to a few garage sales, but when I got up it was cold, and wet and I really was not in the mood for driving in the rain or going out in the cold. That is how I got this blasted cold in the first place. Anyway I ended up going back to bed and after an hour or so I started to think maybe I should have gone and had a look, because you just never know what someone might be selling unless you go and look. So it was a very late start for me, and I only ended up going to a couple of sales because the second one I went to had a whole lot of carnival glass and guess what I spent my money on. LOL I have to do a bit of research on some of it, before I list it, but I am in no particular hurry to list so I will take my time checking this out. Some of it is really lovely. I might go to the markets in the morning and have a look. I have picked up some good things down there the last couple of Sundays, so I will hope tomorrow might bring some goodies as well.

Yes, I couldn't believe I got to sleep at a reasonable hour last night and woke at 5AM, tried to go back to sleep...no luck so I figured well, I'll have a chance to chat with my buddies on WSUTL for a change. Hubby doesn't go to work til 1PM today works til 9PM so I may just sneak back to bed in a bit.
Course Tigger, thinks when I am up that it must be time for breakfast...no matter what the clock says. He's laying at my feet on his back with his hind foot stretched out on my foot. That way I can't move without him knowing it even if he should fall asleep. Tricky kitty!

Ok, first let me say our paychecks are serperated by type. Now having said that, even if they included my planned severance, my 401k, my pension, my vacation, my unused sick time (all of 4 hours there) and anything I left out, it still doesn't add up! Besides, the way I read the documents, I won't get my 401k unless I cash it out (no way will I do that unless in dire emergency!) and I'm not sure about the pension plan yet. And my unused vacation pay came in a different pay stub.

Now Netta, of course my first wish is to be quiet as a mouse about it! But I'm sure I'll get around to calling them later next week and inquire. I don't want to get spend happy and then end up having to pay it back! I will also ask the lawyer when I talk to him/her about possibly suing since I was still on partial disability. My brother (who also used to work for them) suggested I call corporate HUman Resources and find out what the policy is now/was when I went on med. leave about layoffs and disability to see if they screwed up. In that case, I'd get my job back post haste I'd imagine. A friend also suggested looking into Social Security disability if I don't get any better since my release to work was like a trial basis to see if I could do it. The only problem with that is they usually take years to approve it, in the meantime no income. Not good!

Ahhhhhhhh! Too many questions, not enough answers! Plus I'm still in pain, still on narcotics and still going to all these damn doctor appointments! Kinda makes it hard to figure it all out and keep it straight...

Ok, on to lighter topics!!!

Gravid, wasn't that moon just lovely tonight? I was out about midnight to go to the pharmacy and was admiring it. Too bad I am terrified of heights, otherwise I'd go up on the roof and get a moontan.

Zilvy my dear, insomnia or just up really early??

Pharlap my friend, make any decisions on your future yet? That's one of the first things that popped in my mind about that money. If it's mine to keep, I'd hustle right down to the college and enroll for the semester that starts in a couple weeks!

Netta my pal, still cooking up a storm over there??

Where's our harem master??
