I remember a very sweet young man who gave me all of his Firesign Theatre albums for HIS birthday. (Sweet, but eccentric.) I still have them.

Hi Jane yes, I am sure it is...but more than likely she has thrown it away...she is getting ready to move to an apt and whenever, I have told her I can get her some money for something the next time I am there it is gone. Lucky for her a couple of years ago I saved a piece or Roseville from the dump. Got her $450 for it and you know what, she had bought it at a yard sale 10 years previous for .50. I was never that lucky.

Send to the top so that everyone can read this little thread that Hepburn wants everyone to read. If you will notice, a disproportionate amount of critism is focused on me and another poster.

the original thread and the new thread backfired on her when people started to post seriously to it.

Back on topic...
I remember when Red Skelton was on tv and it was considered funny. Nowadays, funny means smut, cuss words, nudity, etc.

Saabsister! The weeds have gotten the upper hand. Too much rain and not enough time for weeding. Buttercups are running amuck. Lots and lots of flowers right now, the yard is really fragrant . I can enjoy it if I don't look down at the ground....darn weeds!
My tomato plants have little tiny flowers forming up. That's a great thing! I might get one or two good 'maters this year.
My pond fish are multiplying like crazy! I guess they like the temperatures!
How's it going with you?

Rawbunzel, I'm working with a friend who's a landscape designer. We're trying to plan a low maintenance garden.Ha! Ha! Not likely.
In a couple weeks I'm having another path laid in a cement-stone. In the meantime I have to get all the shrubs moved out of the area and kill the houttiania( I've probably slaughtered that spelling more than I have the plant.)
I'm working on one side of the house this year because we'll probably start construction on an addition this summer or fall. I'll worry about the rest of the weeds then. I planted a moonflower under the bedroom window. They're supposed to be scented. I love fragrant plants. What types do you grow?

Right now I have scented azeleas blooming and my tree peonies are also blooming. They smell just like roses...maybe even stronger! Except the one that smells like fruit. Um..it smells like fruit! LOL
Lilacs, three colors are also in bloom. Later on there are iris and all the fragrant perenials. Not to mention my two colors of wisteria! They are really fragrant as well! It is just dreamy out there in the evening when the scent is the strongest.
We may not be able to grow veggies here much but our climate is so like Englands that we can grow all the lovely perenials.
We have to re-roof our house this year. I dread that. I'm just sure they'll break down all my plants! And you are getting an addition! You'll have things to move out of harms way no doubt.

Yours sounds like a nice garden, rawbunzel. I wish I had enough sun for tree peonies to do well.
We've had to do with scented sweet woodruff, sweet box, and viola odorata this spring. A little wild honeysuckle sneaked into the upper garden and I let it stay long enough to bloom because I love the smell.
Well, it's almost midnight here and I'd better go to bed. I have to get up early in the morning to walk with a friend before it gets too hot.

my to-be husband's draft number was 7. After his first semester of college, he didn't go back to college knowing he'd be called up. We went with his parents to a drive in movie. Now, keep in mind, this man and I have been married 30 years and I've never, ever confessed this to any one..... his mother caught us...... oh my, the shame.... my face is red..... with my blouse upbuttoned..... oh dear, I finally confessed. Does this mean I have to tell my mother too?
