pharlap, We had a bit of a rumble and a shake or two. According to the tv news reports we should expect some after shocks for a day or two.

mouse, It's usually all hot air on the boards but I found something for you!

It works best when you plug it into your imagination.

Pharlap, Have you been to any auctions lately? They have been pretty crappy down this way lately but I managed to get a few good bits this evening.

Well folks I went and worked today just like I used to do all the time. A fellow who has a little shop here in town wanted me to come in and disassemble all his mill vises and clean them out amd run a tap through all the holes including the big screw that closes them and stone them flat and clean / oil and put them back together.
So I am tired, a little sore and was sweaty and dirty when I came home.
Can't believe I used to do that every day - for a whole ripping $150.00.
Makes me appreciate listing an auction to make a buck.

Ahhh Gravid, you have become a "bunny slipper" seller...no dirt and grime, no constricting clothing and comfortable feet. Except of course when you have to go out into the world and find the product...So I guess you are trying to tell us you won't be doing that again in a hurry, huh?

It sure seemed harder than I remember. I would do a day now and then but I would shudder to think about doing it all week again.
Even when I am out in the world buying things I am in pretty cushy comfort. I have nice seats and air conditioning and my usual work outfit is shorts - t-shirt - Nike air cushion shoes and a panama hat.
I actually have dirt under my nails this morning! Worse than waking up and finduing strange shoes besider the bed!

The rain has finally stopped here today. We have been in dire straights for lack of it this year and now we've had it all in one go. A week ago we were in drought. This week we have floods!
Tommorow is forecast to be fine and then the rain will be back on Saturday for at least a week.
I don't care what the rest of the world is doing tommorow, I'm off to play golf!
I've been going "stir crazy" being cooped up all week.
See you guys later!

Ok Bob - go play. We have had a very dry month also and just got rain in time to save the crops this last week. Otherwise the apples would not have filled out. Now we should start to see some apples in about 2 weeks. I am off to buy some sweet corn for supper tonight from a roadside stand.
Sorry to sully our bright talk with (work) stories. Have you been able to make money playing golf?

Hi gang!

Ugh, we had the hot spot in the country for the high today, at 107 farenheit (but it was a dry heat ). I sure hope fall comes soon!

Well, Pogo finally had her surgery today. Her blood work finally came back good, so it was a go. This is good & bad news in a way. Poor thing is in a lot of pain and spent the first few hours just trying to find a comfortable position, meanwhile growling from the pain. I feel so bad for her, but she had to have that hernia repaired, as well as not add to the pet overpopulation problem. At least the vet sent home pain pills for her. That's a first to me, but I'm glad she did for Pogo's sake!

The only other new thing on the homefront is that my counselor (?) from the outplacement service called me last night. I was rather surprised that she called so late! She wanted to check up on me to see how I was feeling and got me set up with another seminar. I hope I can actually make this one dang it! Hard to say since I have the ultrasound the day before the seminar. When the doctor poked at it, it took me 3 days to recover and the ultrasound will be pushing a lot harder.

So Bob, did you enjoy your game of golf??

How are ya Gravid? Your posts lately are cracking me up.

Where are you Zilvy, Netta & Pharlap??

Hi Pharlap! I'm just now checking back in. I hope this is it for awhile, except going back to get her stitches out and her shots. Poor baby They told me to give her the first pain pill at 6pm. I couldn't get her out from under the bed until 11pm. At least she didn't resist much...like she was up for fighting it. She didn't even go back under the bed, but she didn't go far before she crashed back out. It's so cute, Gunther is guarding her! Besides the fact that I wouldn't let him in the room with her for several hours, he knows she's not feeling well. Charlie tried to come up and investigate her awhile ago and gunther growled at her, then put himself between the two girls. Right now he's laying in front of her protectively, he's such a good boy!

Is Pogo much of a mouser? If so could you send her over my way??? I've had a baby mouse in my room for the last three days and I can't catch it! It's so small that it can eat the bait off the mousetraps and doesn't set them off - I guess because it doesn't weigh enough. It set one off this afternoon and I heard one almighy squeek! (I never knew such a noise could come out of such a small creature) But alas no mouse in the trap. Must have given it a hell of a scare though!!!

My cat is absolutely useless at catching things so there's no point bringing her in. She sees all of these little creatures as her friends. She doesn't understand why mice and lizards don't want to stay with her so her answer is to sit on them (gently) to stop them from leaving her! She's such a sweetheart but that doesn't help me here!

LOL! Now that's a cute & funny story. I don't know if Pogo's much of a mouser, we're in the city and I've never seen one. But she does hunt the geckos rather well, blech! The poor little things, I hate when I find them dead. If I see one in the house, I try to catch them & take them outside. Of course it's usually the baby ones she catches.

Success, I got it and sent the funny on its way...hopefully you will enjoy it as much as I did!!

So young lady, what have you been doing with yourself? Anything new in your situation (that you want to talk about?)

Mouse, I am soo glad little POGO is home and on the mend. Cute about Gunther taking care of his little "sister."

Where is our dear Nettak? Working her buns off and trying to stay warm?

Yes - Nettak hasn't posted for a couple of days now. Maybe her and hubby are taking a well deserved break

Zilvy - I'll go check out the e-mail after typing this. Not doing anything at the moment and don't intend to for a while. I'm surprised that I'm not climbing the walls yet! Have decided that I will go back to Uni next year for sure. I don't really want to bet another job until I go back as it wouldn't be fair to start a new job and then turn around and expect them to just let me work part time. Ebaying will do for an income for the moment. Although I haven't sold anything for a few weeks. I should be getting some interesting things in a few weeks (fingers crossed) that should bring in a nice bit of cash. I just have to get my hands on it first (about 50/50 chance at the moment)
