So I missed the pagent and am catching up by looking at the profiles. Some of these young women have done remarkable work in their short lives.

But, what I wonder is how do they AFFORD to get to the Miss America Pagent???

From the tv shows that I have seen on the topic and the few people that I have known to do serious competion, it's VERY EXPENSIVE!
But in the Miss America Pagent we had daughters of janitors and and factory machine operators and department store clerks and day care workers. Of course some of the parents were doctors, lawyers and engineers but not the majority.

How does a janitor afford these pagents???
T

I think it's GREAT but I am stumped.

I haven't watched that pageant for years, just because I find it boring. I've watched the Miss Universe pageant because it's interesting to see what each country considers beautiful.

I saw a picture of Miss Oregon, she diffinitely had to win with than beauty. She's on David Lettermen in a few minutes so I guess I'll see her then.
