Hot and humid here.
Gee, Dim...now you are giving us a link to another news source. I thought it was buried in the archives. Got some time on your hands? How about a rain dance?

< LOL >
The "other" news source is PRNewswire, which handles corporate press releases. In this case it was Bidville's.
And, yes, it is in the archives. With all the press releases issued each day, each is only active a shortwhile.

No, but I heard the forecast and it doesn't sound all that good for the houseplants (listings) that had been set outside hoping for some rain (buyers).
Continued dry (poor sales, poor sell-through rate) with little or no precipitation (increased sales, increased sell-through rate) in the immediate future.

This post will be unusual for this thread, it will be on topic. I'm sorry but I can not understand the rational of the Bidville lawsuit. Bv had the idea to intergrate the PayPal payment system into an auction site, ok good so far. PP worked with Bv on this and signed some kind of an agreement, ok good so far again. PP got sensible and saw that the idea of the payment system intergration was actually a very bad idea since it involved having the PP users giving their password to an upstart auction site ( PP may have been flooded with letters from irate PP users complaining about this new auction/payment system twist also ) ,makes sense to me. PP now gets cold feet and bails out of the Bv deal and leaves Bv holding the bag. But the bag, so to speak, is a actually very bad idea that both Bv and PP had created together. There would have been very few PP users give up their passwords to a new auction site in order to bid on an auction. IMO, Bv was very lucky that PP bailed out when then did. Bv should be grateful that the deal fell through but instead they seems to want some quick cash via a fast lawsuit settlement? I can not understand Bv's thinking at all. Does anyone else see this situation through my eyes?
Bv is nice community with great folks but I'm begining to wonder about it's mayor.
Bidville, then AuXPal, would have never gotten off the ground because of the requirement for users to provide their PayPal userID/password. I, for one, did not sign-up until *after* the requirement was removed.
I think the NewsFactor article is interesting because PayPal used the word contact and Bidville used contract, while Bidville's board announcement seems to be itching for a fast cash settlement.
Nuisance lawsuit? Cash-strapped?
I don't know, but this certainly is *not* advertising.
When you said "it's definately gonna rain" did you mean to imply that bidville has a dark cloud hanging obver it? Was "Can we get breadsticks" a slam at the low end sales on bidville in which you meant to imply that the sellers could not afford to eat meat. Your bashing of bidville is UNACCEPTABLE and you should not only be banned from this site but the entire internet. Bidville is a great FREE site, like it or leave it!!!!!!!!!!

Kind of supports my initial "non-event" appraisal of the lawsuit. Bv may have 680,000+ items but it is very unknown to internet and non-internet users. Lawsuits are so common that editors may try to avoid lawsuit type of news stories to avoid having bored readers. The only party that I see really enjoying this lawsuit, other than the lawyers that of course, is eBay with its BilkPoint payment system. In a way, Bv and eBay are now allies in that they both have PayPal as an adversary.

Nothing over the weekend on the Bidville sues PayPal story.
bidsbids, I'm with you that this is a non-event. Since Bidville's announcement claimed they had spoken to dozens of reporters (24+), I get the impression they clicked around the site, noted the Bidville statistics, < made a collective yawn > and moved on to the next story.
