jt: This thread is for those who DON'T already know you. Our little newbies. Come on now... stand up, tell us your name, and a little bit about yourself.

You know, I remember, so fondly, one year here that we had a Christmas picture thread. That was too nice.

I lived in Iowa a long time ago. Really snowy in the winter. Very humid in the summer.

Oh my gosh! You are in volation of AW rules. You may NOT share an ID, Gary or Virginia, UNLESS you sign each post. You see my "T" at the bottom of each message? Never mind that my hubby has not posted in two years, "they" KNOW we "share" an ID. A couple of months ago I posted a message and forgot to sign it and I received a casual warning. Since we have fair and equal moderation here at AW, from now on you will be required to sign EACH and EVERY post even if your spouse has not posted in 2 years. If not, I will be watching for that moderation call.

T

Sorry. Could not let that one go. Nope.

My real name would be one that none of you could pronounce. I use the shortened version of Netta.

Snowyegret I know how you feel having an unusual name, I have members of my own family that after 43 years still do not know how to pronounce my name, or at least they pretend that they don't know how. As my father would say....they are just peasants, well he would say it if the main culprits were not his own sisters.

Hi Terri

I see your point. When both you and Jim were posting, it was necessary to identify who was saying what by signing your posts. Since I can't remember the last time Jim posted, I think it's safe to say the ID is *yours*.

If you'd like to change your registered info to reflect that (click on the My Account tab top right, and select Personal Information), I can't see that it will be necessary for you to sign each post. I'll make sure the other Mods know of the decision.

veebee

Technically jt is correct. If both of you wish to post under the one ID, we need to you distinguish your posts by signing them. it saves a lot of confusion if everyone knows who is posting what . Alternatively, you can set up separate IDs - we have several couples that have taken that option.

Thanks

Michelle (yes - that's *really* my name )

Snowyegret, I can have a laugh these days too, about the way my name has been pronounced over the years. I think back to some of the moronic teachers I had way back when and how they could never seem to get there tongue's around my name, but woe if the students did not pronounce our spelling words or the teacher's name correctly. Many times I got in trouble for mispronouncing a teachers name (on purpose), I figured what was good for them was good for me also, but all I got was a visit to the headmistress instead. LOL Those were the days.

Hey Gravid you might have an unusual name but at least you have found someone else with the same name, I have never ever come across anyone with the same name as mine. I am just a unique person I guess. LOL

nettak - That's one in my state. It is a much more common name in the deep south - Alabama and Georgia. I get 6 people with the shortened form Netta in Michigan. What you want to bet you could find someone with your name online if you run a search? Don't even go to a people database just run it in a search engine and tell us if you get any hits. I ran mine as a general search like that and found a surprising number of hits having to do with my father.

Oh I have absolutely no doubt that you will find hundreds of people with the name Netta, shortened from all sorts of names but I really do doubt that you will find my particular name in all the searches you try. We have tried many different ways to track down another person with the same name as mine but we have never yet found anyone with such an outstanding name.

Gravid I must correct myself. My sister has found a Villa in Tusconey(sp?) that has the same name as me, and she did find some long dead people from the 1800's with my name but I have never come across anyone living with my name, and it is probably a good thing too because it would be truely sad to label an innocent baby with this name. Take my word for that please. My mother had 10 kids' and how come I was the only one with a strange name.....I think it was because I was the only one to give here trouble in birth.

I will give you a hint, my name is Italian and very old Italian from what we can gather, and no one uses this name as a christian name anymore.....with good reason.
