Is it to find one man...bin Laden?

No, but he's on top of the list.

Is it to straighten out the Taliban?

No, we gave them a chance to "straighten out". Now we remove them from power.

Why do you really think we are there?

To inforce law. In this case it's international law, since we have UN sanction. Without it (and this would be nessasary even if the UN didn't sanction it) it would be to inforce US law. You don't murder people. The Taliban won't inforce that law, so we will.

A Government that won't inforce a law against murder is a cancer on the earth, and needs to be removed. We should do it as surgicly as we can, but the cancer has to be removed.

This stupid war will not solve anything, but it may create lasting problems that didn't exist before.

KRS, I see you saying what we should not do. What do you think America SHOULD do istead of what we are, at this very moment (since Sept. 11)? I am interested in your opinion.

Gee uaru,

You have, in your little personal pique, confused yourself over the difference between me personally and the news sources upon which you claim to so heavily rely.

When you say:

"I didn't predict military action to the day and time in a thread so prophetically titled "Tomorrow" I believe you called that one (wrong). Lucky that thread is gone huh?
I didn't announce that Bush had decided against bombing the Taliban in a thread titled "Bush Backs Away!", you played Nostradamus on that one (wrong).

You're kind of all over the place on your predictions aren't you?"

are you saying that in your adoration you failed to notice that neither of those predictions was mine, but instead were the predictions, if that's really what they were, proposed by the media source from which I derived the subject and from which I posted a link to the predilictory article?

Tsk, yet you claim to read.

I'm saying you choose to believe or interpret or search for stories that will give you the most 'bang for the post', even if they go against the grain. Especially if they go against the grain.

Not only can I read, I can read between the lines.

Well I suppose that you must doubt the actions of your president, or possibly you know his failings well. I took his speech and attack preparations to mean that he would do what he said he would do, and do it when he said he would do it.

Perhaps I have become too used to the steadfast reliability of his predesessor.

Well, once again we are left waiting for the answer that will never come, call me a narrow minded fool (oh no you've already done that) call me a pirahna, oops forgot you've done that too! I guess you don't have answers on how you would handle over 5000 killed by terrorists on American soil, only "In MY OPINION " statements.

Thanks HJW always fun sharing space with your ilk!!

Pass the oil and praise the amunition!!

Krs :Most Americans understand whats happening. These people are not Playing with us. I would hold off on the Jayne Fonda anti military spiel untill the threat is somewhat reduced from that area. These guys and gals in the service need support or at least silence. Im sure Afganistan will be a much nicer place to live once weve made a few changes there.

I don't need any advice from you, whoever you are. But do point me to where you believe I've voiced an "Jayne Fonda anti military spiel". While you're at it, point out where she did that. It's my recollection that she was instead somewhat pro-military in her own way.

Hehehe... maybe you can give me a reading lesson. Supply the text of the speech that gives the 'when'.

How about giving "a what he said, vs. what he's doing" information blurp for us. Include the time tables, I've lost my war on terrorism schedule. I'm bored so I wouldn't mind seeing your version of a single credible source that supports you.

Nonsense. You know as well as anyone how back and forth bush's statements have been. Certainly it's the influence of advisors that have made it so since all of those hawks have pressed for immediate action while some less hawkish, notably Powell, have counseled a more temperate response. The result has been a hodgepodge of announcements which have been near impossible to decipher. That poor boy has been saying that the time was up since Sept. 13th. He tries to please everybody so nobody will get mad at him.

Pardon me if I am mistaken , It just seemed that you were expressing opposition , doubt and intense displeasure to our Military, Our action against Mr Bin Ladens Organization in Afganistan, Our President, and Our country. Im sure you will have no trouble finding much to read about Ms Fonda if you are interested.

I'll take that to mean you won't be giving me a reading lesson or supplying credible sources that back up your remarks.

Forgive me for reading between the lines, old habits die hard.

I really have to say that I pity you, uaru, for your seemingly archaic computer equipment that prevents you from reading for yourself the very link which I've already said that I posted in one of the threads which you yourself mentioned.

But of course your insistance upon what you call a credible source would disallow that link as it was a relation of the statements of Donald Rumsfeld in the british press and you do not recognize any credence in anything British, I guess, despite your repeated testimonials of affection for them because of their support in this present case.

Or, perhaps I am right in wondering whether you do read at all? Anyway, here it is again:

It's only one of many flipflops, but in finding more I'm afraid that you are on your own.

krs,

I guess I have to come to you with hat in hand and ask you to specifically pull out the paragraph or paragraphs in your offer of proof that Bush or Rumsfeld had released a specific date or even general time table. It looks to me like the reported is purely guessing the attacks could come on 9/15, which you seemed to have taken for gospel as I seem to remember you offering to make a wager on it. I don't see the evidence of Bush alleged 'flip flop'. Surely you can point me to the paragraph I'm missing.

If not you then someone else can find the 'flip flop' hidden in your article. I'm good at finding Waldo, but I'll be damned if I can find the 'flip flop' you offer. Maybe the text is confusing me.

Don't worry krs, I don't really expect you to validate your statements, but I do enjoy your attempts to brush off the remarks, or try and pass off proof that isn't there.

I can't bother myself with people who are blind to what is right in front of their noses, ueru, so continue in your faith.

I'm glad that you never had to go to a war in which you were, in essence, played for a fool, for if you had I'm quite sure that it would have had the lasting effect of instilling a certain cynicism with which you would view the obvious future attempts to do the same thing to you again, but then from what I've seen from you you wouldn't have gone in the first place anyway, would you?

Awwwwwwww.... Come on krs. You can do it. Show the meat of the proof in the URL you offered. Think how foolish you can make me look. Calling me a fool isn't enough you know that. Aren't you worried that a newbie to the forum might think you're 'balloon juice' unless you simply point to the paragraph that validates your statement.

Don't worry, I don't mind you making me look like a fool. Cut and paste your 'proof' and show others just how literate you are and howI can't read a news article.

Come on... you can do it. I'm so lost (sob), I need to have you 'translate' the news for me.

They are already here. Has anyone taught you to use the search functions of AW? You might give it a try if you really are interested, but since you obviously didn't or couldn't read those links the first time I won't hand feed you now.

Wasn't it you, after all, at the head of the caterwailing complaint group decrying the request to back up your statements with links? Why, of course it was, and look at you now.

Or is this only your meager attempt to goad me into something? (duh) I'm afraid that you'll need to be better than this if it is.

No, heaven forbid trying to goad you into something. I'm simply on bended knee (squatting if you prefer) asking you to show me the vacilating that Bush has done on his approach to the WTC attack.

It's real simple, cut and paste the part of the article that validates your claim, and show others how stupid I am, and how you are far from being "ballon juice."

You should be taking pleasure in that opportunity. I'm a big boy, I can take my medicine... give it to me doc.
