Nothing too weird for me but my sister came over today and fixed herself a bowl of Top Ramen noodles and mixed in Cheetos, the crunchy kind.

I'm pretty normal in my food habits but one thing I like is fried noodles. By that I mean take any leftover cooked noodles you have (elbows are good), fry them in a bit of butter and put maple syrup on it. Good stuff!!
But my mother is a bit weird. She grew up in Germany during WWII and they didn't have any food. They ate moldy bread with sawdust in it. (Her mother (my grandmother) convinced the kids that the moldy part was good for you because that's where penicillin came from.) When Mom fries bacon, she saves the grease, lets it congeal and spreads it on bread like butter. She'll also take hard old bread, break it into smaller pieces, put it in a bowl and pour coffee/milk/sugar over it. (Actually, this is pretty good if you like sweet coffee.)

oooohhhhhhhhh how I long for one of gravid's wisecracks!
my stomach is queasy just reading the posts here.
I like my steak rare, I tell the wait-person "rare so that a good vet could save it, please".
I adore garbanzo's, canned only, please. I will drain, pour salad dressing in the can and eat with a spoon, yum yum. One of the few things I buy only name brands never store brands.
I dream of chocolate. Only Hershey's milk chocolate. I have tried and do not comprehend those expensive brands. They don't taste/feel right. (they smell good though) I have a bottle of chocolate body wash that I will mourn when it's all gone.
Toothpaste gags me. It is like brushing my teeth with Wriggley's chewing gum! I use salt sprinkled in my palm, dip toothbrush in it.....
I despise oysters. Even the word makes me ill. I hate the stink, the thought, the sight.
Clams are no better.
That's enough for now, I'm sorry I typed the nasty "O" word, gotta brush my teeth...........

bunnicula - "I also enjoy raw oatmeal--a bit on the dry side, but very tasty!"
And here I thought I was the only one who ever ate raw oatmeal.
My husband thinks I'm nuts. (He also thinks I have wierd food habits, but I think they are normal) I too must have burnt meat, no mooing. Asking them to burn it is the only way to get it anywhere near done enough. I don't like my foods to touch, but I still eat them if they have. I do like to have honey or strawberry jam on my grilled cheese sandwich. I have been told that is wierd, but I think not.
I like plain food, no junk on my burger or my sandwich. I am perfectly happy with just meat, perhaps cheese and a touch of miracle whip. My hubby and daughter throw on a bit of everything.

My meat has to be "cremated" according to my family. It always drove my dad nuts. My mother (who lives with us), can't seem to get chicken all the way cooked and it totally grosses me out.
I also can't stand any fat, grisle or anything that's not just the meat part. I used to hate eating a steak at a resturaunt, they never cooked it right and by the time I trimmed all the yucky parts off, I had very little left. I must be going to better resturaunts now.
My eggs are usually cooked so the yolk is runny, but the whites must be cooked. I hate slimy white stuff!
I used to have a thing about my foods touching too, but that seems to mostly have gone away. If it's a sweet thing next to a savory thing, I still hate it.
I used to eat ramen noodles dry, love raw cookie dough (my own though, so I know where it's been!), still like to pour milk on my ice cream and like french fries with no salt.
I also like to eat the same food until I get tired of it. It used to/does again drive my mother crazy. Just when she'd finally stock up on whatever it is, I get sick of it. And it's always something she won't eat.

I don't get the milk in the ice cream. Is it it make it softer?
I like my steak rare rare rare. I find steak tasteless when it is cooked more than that. Noone has mentioned potato chips on sloppy joes. Am I the only one that does that? I won't eat an egg if the yolk isn't runny except if it's scrambled. That's one of the few things I won't tolerant with food. Maybe if I had a few of some of your mentioned habits, I wouldn't find food so apealing and that would be a very good thing!

Im visualizing all of us meeting for the first time...at a restaurant. Can you imagine? LOL
I used to dip my finger in raw jello and lick, dip, lick, dip lick. That was when I was a kid though.
I like hot elbow macaroni tossed with butter and salt.
The milk over the ice cream...I dunno why I do it. Just makes it taste better to me. Grapenuts scattered over the top of vanilla ice cream is good too.

I used to squish jello around in my mouth until it turned into a liquid in my mouth. (when I was a KID of course, I HATE jello now!)
Every Sunday after church my family would go to my grandmother's house for a spaghetti dinner (or lasagna). I HATE sauce, so my grandmother would always make me spaghetti (or ziti, whatever) with just plain butter. Sometimes, she'd even make me my own ham dinner because I didn't like the meatballs, or ANYTHING that was in the sauce.

I must conclude that those who are so picky have never lived without food and been so hungery you would eat everything sat before you because you knew it was not going to fill you up anyway.
However when you go to a retaurant it is their job to make you happy even if you are eccentric and it is not their right to make fun of you at all.
I have had enough of hurtful speech that is always followed by: "Oh I was just teasing."
NOT. I have called the manager when for example the waitress took everyone elses order and said "Not you, you are too fat."
They may be chummy and "HI I am Amy and I will be your server tonight." but there is a line it is well not to cross being over familiar with the customer.
I felt bad for ExecutiveGirl having the waitress harrass her.

On a lighter note when we lived in North Carolina we lived in a rented house behind the landlord's house.
We were dirt poor and would eat just about anything, but the landlady gave us a GALLON jug of her pickles and we would not eat them because she was filthy.
I don't know exactly why but those stupid pickles sat in the refrigerator for 6 months. They took up about a third of the frig. I guess they were afraid to throw them away because she would see. But looking back on it I don't know why they didn;'t throw a way a few at a time until they could give the jar back. The night before we moved I was assigned to sneak out in the dark and throw them in the river. I don't know if the local fishing ever recovered.

I guess it is up to the reader to decide what is "weird", but here we go.......
Steaks.... As quoted from that piece of crap movie with Woody H and Sutherland ("Cowboys"???) Just knock the horns off and wipe it's ass The BEST steak I EVER had was dipped into a deep fryer to coat it with oil, then passed over an open flame...it ignited for a few seconds...the result??? A CRISPY outside and a COLD inside ...YUMMMMMM!!!!!
I knew a man many years ago who worked as a "hired hand" for my Uncle...he a had LITERALLY(sp) a 6th grade education, and could not STAND to have his Spaghetti and Meat Sauce touch each other....but with all other foods, he would STIR it ALL together and say "It all goes in the same place anyhow"... I can still see him stirring his plate of eggs(soft boiled), potatoes, sausage and ketchup 30 years later!!!

LOL at the pickles Gravid! Oh and the eating ramen noodles dry came about from hungrier days, but I still do once in a blue moon.
Ooooh, I love pasta with just butter, a little salt and maybe some garlic. When I make spaghetti, I always take about 2 bites of noodles out to eat plain.
I like milk on the ice cream because it makes a slightly crunchy coating. I don't really like the various ice cream toppings unless it's a banana split, so the milk is good. It also for me, makes it a bit less rich. Sound about right Hepburn?
Ubie, I'm gonna have to remember that line! I wish my dad was still around, that's how he liked his. He used to say, "Just walk it through a warm room."

Neat thread!
As a kid, none of my food could touch each other on the plate. I'm over that, but things like piling different foods on top of each other can still make me gag at the thought.
Strange things I use to love as a kid:
dipping potato chips in milk and then eating them. (sort makes me gag to think of that now)
steamed rice with milk, sugar and cinnamon.
To the one who doesn't like condiments on their burgers etc ... isn't it a huge pain to order in the hamburger places?? It has gotten better over the years, especially now that McDs doesn't make their burgers ahead of time, but make em to order. Even so, periodically I end up with a "loaded" burger .. so, I have to check my burgers each time before biting into them.
The funniest thing that happened was when in a burger joint I ordered a "plain cheeseburger." Got my order, and it was just meat and a bun. "Where is the cheese?" I asked. "You ordered it plain!" I was told. lol

And before I leave, or drive away, I **ALWAYS** check my food to make sure it's as ordered! I don't want to see ketchup, mustard, cheese, etc - ANYWHERE - including on the wrapper! And yes, I've returned food just for having mustard on the wrapper. It TOTALLY grosses me out. Yuckkkk!!
