Hey, that's my $200K ($145K actually) crackerbox in Seattle you're talking about.

I love the term that was coined in this thread "feedback rubbernecking" and am glad that so many of us are out of the closet with this. Like so many others, I thought I was the only one.

I left a neg for a deadbeat who promised several times that he had sent payment and then he just stopped responding to my emails. Since he was still buying and selling, I figured his computer was working, so I sent him a couple of last warnings from my usual ISP email and also from a backup account on Yahoo. Nothing. No reply.

I finally filed FVF and negged him with something like "six weeks, promises but no payment". He immediately came back to life and sent me a nasty email saying that he hadn't received my followup emails and therefore didn't know his payment had not been received and therefore I was a dirty dog for negging him.

He also responded with the usual deadbeat retaliatory by saying "plays email tag from multiple addresses"

What this loser deadbeat didn't realize was that he had just confirmed that he had received my followup emails all along.

That's why we call 'em DEADBEATS

Trif - S'ok. It'll be your $500K crackerjack box in Seattle by next year. At the rate the *$&%#$% housing market around here is going.

It's actually not much of a crackerbox (2300 sf plus 400 sf basement), but it's damn ugly. It looks like the biggest damn doublewide you've ever seen because it has a flat roof and T-111 siding.

Wow.....Negative Readers Anon. I will become the first member...when are the meetings? I await my first neg. with baited breath. My peeve is those who don't bother to leave FB at all. At least if it's a neg., I would know they went through the trouble of at least responding. It is 80 degrees here today in East Texas. What does snow look like?

I always read other people\'s negatives. That's the fun part to read, especially when you, yourself, have none.

trif7 - you must have gotten in a few years ago when you still could buy something here for $145K! And a good size, too. I love your description.

I'm planning on getting my first negative within the next week or so, when I leave the first negative I've ever left, and the first which this person has ever received. So far he has four positives (three which count) and no negatives or neutrals, amazingly. It's been about six weeks and no payment. I've already filed my NPB report and will file for FVF tomorrow, wait a few days and neg him. Although I'll simply state the facts ("Seven weeks, no payment" ), I'm fully expecting a negative in return. I'm bracing myself - I won't be happy about getting a retaliatory neg, but I'm ready.

Edited to get rid of that pesky winking smiley that was created when I tried to put a quote by a closing parenth.

Hello.
My name is Nina, and I'm a neutral/neg feedback addict.

HI NINA!

Haven't been around much, doing other things, and it's been pretty boring around here. I'm not too good at goosesteping!
So I'm glad to see this thread! I love looking at negs, tracing them back, and finding new ones.

Cloudy and 35 here in Ohio. Crappy weather, wish it would snow.

rainybear, we'll have been in this house for 2 years come end of February.

They built a new house next door and are trying to sell it for $300K. They built one behind us last summer and sold it for $270K. I think it is safe to say we did not make the mistake of buying the highest priced house on the block.

You guys are so funny! I never thought about it much, but I LOVE reading negs....and yes, I follow them around too, of who left what to whom, and what THEY had to say in return, blah blah blah. Gotta love AW for having these boards, y'know? Reading THESE is almost as much fun as reading negs, ROTF!

NO NEVER! Especially not the last hour reading all the feedbacks on this site, LOL. Seriously, I have a friend that says her husbands ex-wife bought something so she could insert negative feedback. There is no limit to a woman's scourn.

I too like to read negs, but don't do the digging some of you do. That's a great tip to search for "complaint" with the "Find" feature. I learn something new everyday. Thanks.

RainyBear - I've posted a couple of negs without retaliation, so don't assume a negative in response. Both were new users and haven't been heard from since. BTW, it snowed in Bothell on Tuesday, but how much you got just depended on which block you lived.

Wow, it seems like there are a lot of people from the Seattle area who post on these boards! Let's see, besides me, there's Fashion, readingfilly, trif7, ShellyHerr, and Islander that I can think of. I'm sure there are others. I wonder if this area has a higher concentration of eBayers than some others, or more who like to post, or ???

readingfilly - I'm quite close to your neighborhood and no snow this a.m. bummer.

RainyBear - You're not kidding! Maybe I should start selling more Birkenstocks, Teva's, and REI type stuff?

I love to read the negatives, but can't stand having to wade through pages to find them. I saw a web page once upon a time that did a search of the feedback (not an Ebay page) and would provide all the negative feedback given to or by an Ebay ID. Can anyone let me know where it is?

This is a great page for checking feedback. You can read all the positives or negitives on a given username.

Sometimes when I'm considering bidding on an item I'll check the sellers feedback. If I see a neg I'll look at the feedback for the person who left it to see if there was a neg left for them in return. Then I start looking at the negs for this person and before I know it, I'm 5 or 6 users deep into this and can't for the life of me remember what I was going to bid on!

a few months ago I received a link from someone on this board to a page titled "Feedback by DAD."

This site was an awesome one that enabled the user to enter anyones eBay ID and get just the Negatives & Neutrals, among other info.

Anyone have this site? (I suffered an AOL crash & have lost all my bookmarks & stuff)

Thanks!

So does this make Firecracker an enabler or just co-dependent?

This is bad. I'm a horrible person.

Ages ago, I had an item that arrived broken. Come to find out, the seller had failed to insure my package. I tried for WEEKS to resolve it with her, but ended up leaving negative feedback. You guessed it -- she negged me back.

Just recently I noticed she'd gotten a negative for the exact same thing. She negged a seller because they didn't insure her item, and the seller negged her back.

I hafta admit ... I got a teeny bit of satisfaction from that, knowing that now maybe she has an idea of what it was like to be in my shoes.

I know, I know. I'm awful.

(By the way, my eBay ID is not the same as the ID I use here!)

I'll also admit to reading negative feedback. It's kinda interesting trying to figure out what happened .... who was "right" and who was "wrong", or if the whole transaction just went sour, or if one or both parties were trigger-happy with the negative button.

(edited 'cuz I can't spell tonight!)
