You know what the ONE chestnut is that I am TIRED of hearing?????
the one about how the "Republicans 'stole' the election."
It seems to be renewed now that it was announced last week that with all of the examinations done and recounted Bush would have won anyway. AND I believe this was still without the votes from troops overseas.

"Get a life already" Oh I just can't tell you how often I wanted to say that in the eight years I had to listen to Republicans bash the crap out of Clinton. Why, it hasn't stopped yet. I am going to enjoy the heck out of the bashing time I have be it 4 years or [god forbid] 8.
So lets just all get lives and not worry about anyone elses. OK?

What is going on now with the daily attacks on Constitutional and civil rights and what happened in the last election shows that the people are *right* to question everything the current leadership does. The reason that we have had the extraordinary freedoms we've enjoyed in this country is due to the fact that every American has the right if not the duty to keep the government on the straight and narrow. It is when everything is left trustfully in their hands that things get in a pickle.

Good morning, all...let me apologize for my poor choice of words. That is why I mostly lurk and don't post. I should have said that "I" feel like "I" must trust the government; no this is not blind trust either. For me, it feels like no matter how many letters I write to our representatives, no matter how many discussions I have with other people, seems nothing will change, but I won't quit asking questions or quit writing letters either. The "get over it" remark was meant just for the bad election....it is over and there is nothing more can be done about THAT election. I do believe that because of THAT election, it will never happen again (hopefully). Yes, I know about layoffs; hubby will probably loose his job in the next month. It has happened before and we did get over it. I really can't compare that to what happened in NYC....that I will never get over. So, again, I didn't mean to anger anyone, and when I re-read my posts, I see it does come off that way. I'll not post anymore, but I will keep reading your thoughts; some I agree with some I don't and that is a good thing.

Right, Enchanted
I think that we had a dissenting point of view but we were all very civil about it.
I wonder if the root cause of this disagreement may be the meaning of patriotism. The fact that we may question the qualification of a
president does not indicate that we are not patriotic.
Patriotism should be based on our very high regard for the constitution of the United States and the ability of the American people to protect that document.

Hi there Helen, chococake, rawbunzel and everyone up there...
I miss nanastuff already.... come back nanastuff, come back.... Maybe she'll have a short expiration date on not posting, like by tonight or tomorrow, it could expire...
Actually it's a surprise when I find myself on the same side as other posters of nearly any issue discussed here... there's as many opinions as there are posters, I think.
Helen, have a good Sunday. We're busy already with the holiday week and visitors but I'll be back before Thursday to wish you a Happy Thanksgiving.

Nanastuff, You cannot stop posting. That's it, you just can't.
We will never all agree on everything so sometimes it is bound to happen that your opinion will differ from some others here. That doesn't make it wrong, that only makes it your opinion ....just like all the rest of us...that's all we have.
Of course this does not apply to KRS. No one is completely sure what his own opinion is...but we certainly know what a lot of news writers on the internets opinions are.
PLSMITH..I watched that show occasionally. I must have been in the throes of a RL back then and don't remember no stinking badges. It looks like an old fashioned bicycle with a tennis shoe on top. What's it supposed to be?
edited because I forgot to say howdy to all the posters up ^^^ there! HI Everyone!

Gosh Helen, One must work with what one has.
Has anyone else noticed that the more time you spend in message boards the worse your spelling and grammer become? Seriously. I used to be a great speller and now....well, let's just say I'm not.

In my case, I think that the number of spelling mistakes that I make are caused by a serious case of brain deterioration. LoL
I really think that spelling mistakes are usually typing errors.
posted on November 18, 2001 01:09:49 PM new Nanastuff, I've always read your name as "Nana's Tuff" -- tough grandma's do not leave, they stay and bash people in the shins with their shopping carts Really, no need for you to go into lurk mode; stick around and play. Where else ya gonna find a group of adults that act like two-year-olds? In other words, get over it
Rawbunzel:
From an A&E Network discussion of The Prisoner:
Q: What is the significance of the canopied pennyfarthing?
A: Patrick McGoohan's (the series' star, writer, director) explanation is that it is the symbol of progress. Others have explained it using the symbolism of the wheels—the microcosm and the macrocosm, small cogs and big wheels—individuals and authority, archaic values and advanced technology, and so on. The pennyfarthing (canopied bicycle) is a wonderfully surreal image and a favorite discussion point among fans of The Prisoner.
