Watch the Republicans in Congress!

Whenever there is a scandal, this is how you can tell the difference between the two parties. The Democrats rally around the accused to defend the person until they are proven guilty in a court of law. The Republicans, upon the first whiff of a scandal, bound for the hills like jackrabbits, leaving the poor fool accused of anyhting high and dry. Such is the way that these two work.

So, keep your eyes and ears open for a scapegoat in the making. They are already grooming Colin Powell to succeed as the next Republican candidate as the White House scurries about doing damage control.

Let's all enjoy the fun seeing them leave Bush out to take the heat; although the White House is trying the same tactic that they used in Iran-Contra to protect Ronald Reagan. The "Out Of The Loop" defence theory is being played on Bush so that even if he is guilty, "he didn't know nutt'n'!" Hee hee hee!

Backstabbers and deserters -- that's what Republicans are all about: do for yourself, get for yourself, and to Hell with anyone else not as nasty as you are to get what you want!

Saabsister, I am sorry to have missed your last post addressed to me. I want to say that although there seem to be centrist to left reporters and editors out there, they haven't been slamming Bush like they did for Clontin. Oh sure, they supported Clinton to a degree, but they also roasted him on the all-news networks and not just FoxBiasedNewsNetwork either! That the editors thought little enough about the rigged missle defense tests - something that the entire public should have been made aware of, shows just how little they are allowed to tell their side of the story. That so many other nasty things Bush has done and his cronies over the years and the media has ben too intimidated by it tells the whole story.

I only caught the tail end of a discussion on Enron and Bush on a talk show, but a critic mentioned that Bush appointed some bigwig Enron guy to oversee the Securities & Exchange Commission. Talk about the Fox guarding the Henhouse!!

Bush is gonna wish he'd stayed in Texas!!

I'm sure everyone is aware by now that Enron hasn't even had to pay taxes in the last four years. It was also eligible for a $382 million dollar tax refund!

With 881 subsidiaries abroad the profits go to a partner not subject to American income taxes. More and more large companies are using this technic to avoid paying taxes, but Enron had more than most other companies, 692 in the Cayman Islands alone.
Chevron lists three and Exxon lists six.

Why can't people understand all these tax cuts they are so eagerly awaiting don't help the average tax paying people. They will benefit these big companies just like the above loophole shields them from paying any taxes at all.
