I am leaving..then only way I will return is if they give it to me for free...I have been a seller for quite awhile on Yahoo and just for the sake of aurgument I emailed them and asked if I could pay with a monthly check instead of credit card..like they do an Ebay..I was informed in no way would they accept that method..How nice of them to send me such a curt reply..It was the sellers like myself that brought the customers in from other auction sites..and you know what? I AM TAKING THEM WITH ME..HAHA..so there Yahoo I hope you find alot of new sellers that won't stay because they will have to pay the customers to buy from them

I myself am growing a little weary of handing out my credit card number to these auction sites on the internet.
Of course, hackers are imaginary and all is safe. Yadda yadda yadda...

I have left both Yahoo and e-bay, due to their Fees. A Final Value Fee would be appropriate and acceptable, but NOT Listing Fees, Reserve Fees, 10 day Fees etc.
As for the very uncalled for and insulting comments made by JackWolfe......EVERYONE has a right to auction anything they want...this is still a democracy isn't it?
Have you forgotten that one person's junk is another person's treasure?? You have no right to be so condescending.....what makes you think your items are quality? I may think they are junk...
I have moved to epier, and have bids and my customers are coming with me....FEE FREE!!!
If and when they decide to charge a fee, I think they will be smart enough to make it a FVF on COMPLETED auctions....and respect their Sellers unlike Yahoo and ebay....

Yeah junkgal 98.....my main business is hand made Beeswax Candles which I sell for $3.50 a pair....just because they are not priced at $50.00 doesn't make them any less of a quality item........and as you say the Seller's and Buyer's are all looking for different items......
Yahoo and e-bay will never see me again....epier is working out great...check it out...epier.com...
Hey canvid......you don't have pez dispensers for sale?...shame on you...LOL.

This is getting ridiculous. I've been listening to this topic for the past two weeks now. If you all want to leave yahoo FINE! That just means less competition for me. What you could do is charge extra for shipping like everybody else does to make up for the listing fees. I'm not saying it's right, but i'm saying you could do it and no-one would ever notice. Yeah!!! how you like them apples!!!

bargaineer76.......If you don't like it then don't look, no one is forcing you here......and if you think customers are not going to notice you padding shipping fees you are nuts.......besides which some of us don't like to take advantage of customers...They may not come back and it is not right.

You just don't get it! These people are not only your competition, they are also buyers. There are probably more sellers thay buy on Yahoo than there is buyers that don't sell. Other sellers make up 50% - 70% of our sell through. Since the fees were announced our sales are down, waaaayyy down. I've been watching dozens of categories and a greater percentage of bids have dropped off than listings. In some categories bidding is down 75% and listings are only off by 45%.
Don't take my word for it look for yourself.

As a long time Yahoo seller I am displeased with their new format. They implemented this new fee based program without any consultation with the sellers. I list auctions in the US and World coin category and have a rating of over 900, with around 800-1000 active auctions at any given time. Presently the US coin category is in a death spiral listings are dropping off the cliff. Unless Yahoo moves to either an FVF or an all you can eat monthly fee deal, I will move on to other free sites, FVF sites, and of course Ebay. As for now I am on the sidelines and will not be back until Yahoo gets more seller (customer) friendly.

Hey RebelGuns..........Knit 2 Pearl 2, slipstitch.....skip 2....join seams together and press flat.....Hee Hee! Now we can auction it on Yahoo....LOL
OOPS! it would probably be moth ridden by the time it sold, and would have $9,000 in Listing Fees...what a bargain....

I use coin postings/sales as a thermometer of a sites overall performance, mainly becuae it's one of the world's most popular hobbies. If coins ain't selling, the site's a dog.

Jack (the hungry) Wolfe, will go broke later. I WILL HAVE TO LEAVE YAHOO. Thats to bad because I liked Yahoo. No buyers no sales its that simple. I would stay if they charged a fee if my item sells. Yahoo if your sellers pull out so will what few people buy so you are killing yourself not the sellers fault. I am going to sell in bidbay see what happens. Goodby Yahoo and good luck.

Maybe we should all get together and start an site that's called freedomauction or something like that, where a seller is only charged, like in the real world for what sells. where a bidder must prove they are a real ligit person in order to bid. The hidden attack on the german and racist materials is this, in order to start a new procedure many countries laws require precedent. Now that Gomez in france has set the precedent of telling a foreign site what they may have will they tell foreign sellers to pay sales tax? This would dovetail nicely
with what is already going on at say for example amazon where they have employed the services of an expert from touche and deloit(maybe I did not spell this right)
a firm out of San Francisco California, who has traveled the nation speaking about internet sales taxes. He came here to Wisconsin and spoke to the annual convention of the bar association about internet taxes. interestingly enough he was with morris dees
one of the big anti racist lawyers. these guys have a game plan hit something a large percentage objects to with a ruling get your foot in the door and twist it to their own purposes. Mr dees also said that they should fight lawyer bashing. which considering that two years ago the bar association had over 4,000 compliants and acted on about 40 is sickening, when you realize that the majority of clients are already in trouble civially or crimminally and that their own lawyer has victumized them further, that most of the complaints never get filed in the first place so 4,000 people were smart enough to complain to deaf ears. These guys don't get it, the people here and even in China's red square want freedom not a pack of pencil pushing paper piling parasites
telling them what to do and when to do it and what it will cost to do what they want done.

When Yahoo tried to fight the French-demanded ban against selling Nazi regalia on the internet in France, "Yahoo argued that the Web sites involved were aimed at the American market and said the U.S. First Amendment governing freedom of speech prevented it from shutting the sites down" (http://www.dmnews.com/articles/2001-01-22/12756.html).
Therefore, shouldn't those who have had their products banned be filing a class action against Yahoo because, according to Yahoo, the posters are protected by "the U.S. First Amendment governing freedom of speech."
In defense, how could Yahoo argue against itself??? They basically TESTIFIED that canning said auctions violated the Constituion rights of their sellers.
Sue Yahoo!!!!

This is in reply to bargaineer76:
Do your math, not fuzzy math but the real thing. Example: I just sold a $50 item, one of 6 similar items listed, they were up for 3+ months. this equates to $1.00/week x 13 weeks = $13 x 6 items = $72. Assuming that I had paid the current fees; then my revenue of $50 minus cost of goods $23.00 minus listing fees $72 = net loss of $45. Sound just like the e-commerce modle. I just do not have the publics millions to play this game, nor does most yahoo sellers. Come back to me in 3 months time and we can look at it again!!

Well this is a mixed message. First to Jack and all others like him, I resent the fact of theese people thinking that all people who are opposed to the listing fees are subpar listers & should be thrown out with yesterday's trash. Did some people think that if people were rich, then there would be no need for selling items on auctions. And that there are some people who cannot afford to throw money away listing items that do not sell. Plus not every item will sell no matter how high the quality. Secondly to all the people who have decided to leave yahoo for what ever reason, I sadly sympathize with you all, for I too am going to some place else, as yet unknown. To all of us, I wish the best of luck.

Mystery come check out epier.com, I have bids and also am buying some nice items from other Sellers. They have a great chat Lounge and nice people. Best of all the owners are listening to us and adding Categories, enhancing the site. I think I will be happy there and of course NO FEES EVER......
