Hi jalleniii,

I hope that you are still attached to this thread....

2. Under Transaction Details, having the name of the buyer listed with the address making copying and pasting easier.

Can you please give me an example of how you would like to see this work? The Product team was interested in your request.

I've seen all those comparable paypal compatible shopping carts.........and I didnt like any of them.

CCNOW is set up as a perfect model for what I/we would need (except they arent so sophisticated on the shipping charges)

I am currently doing a major overhaul of my website at this moment.

If you need a beta tester i'd be more than happy since I am planning to make the switch once you all have it ready.

And the summary of paypal fees I/we paid is essential and we have a right to know how many fees we have paid to use our business accounts with paypal. In a summary form monthly or quartly either way but I am entitled to that summary. The one you download is basically all the transactions that have happened in the span of time you designate inluding the comments box messages subjects. Still leaving me to sit with the note pad and calculator.

A simple since 1/01/2001 or from 4/01/2001 to 5/01/2001 you have paid $53.25 in fees (for example) would be perfect.

*waves* thanks

Not really a feature, but I'd like to recommend that PayPal hire several dozen people like Damon. If everyone at PayPal was as conscientious as Damon, I believe that the problems that made me shy away from PayPal last fall would never have occurred.

Hi petertdavis,

Thank you very much for the kind words. I do try as hard as I can to make sure all customer issues are resolved to their satisfaction and that their concerns are heard.

Have a wonderful weekend.

I just hope that Paypal becomes more accessible to more countries other than the 30+ already listed in their website. Since I live in the Philippines, sending payments is rather a very tedious task as I always have to go to the bank and purchase bank drafts (not to mention the hassle of mailing them). Please make it so so that it would be a lot easier to send payments.

You guys should give Damon a lot of credit as he is one of the few Paypal guys who lends a hand to everybody having problems. Thanks a lot!!!

Hi vince316,

Many, many thanks for the kind words.

I will let Product know of the demand for service in the Phillipines.

I'd like a month by month breakdown of fees I have paid to use your service...insead of trying to add the fees I paid to use paypal on a note pad with a calculator a nice monthly sumary should do the trick.

Yes!!! Please total this up for us on a month by month basis. It is a huge pain to have to go through every single transaction to add up the PayPal fees. A summary that can be found in our account somewhere would be much appreciated. [ edited by nefish on May 21, 2001 07:16 AM ]

There already is a way to keep track of such figures. Click on history, then click on 'download log', select the time frame you want to examine and the format you want the log in, and download it. Now open it up with your spreadsheet program or Quickbooks and you've got all your information available for you.

Hi Damon,

#1My little experience (which you helped out with, thanks) wherein a Complaint was hastily filed, really made me shy away from PayPal.

There need to be some active moves on PayPal's part to ensure a bidder contacts and communicates with with the seller before filing a complaint. Although I had one vague message from my winner before he filed, I've read about sellers who have gotten complaints filed completely out of the blue, with no prior correspondence from the bidder.

At the very least, there should be an obvious place for the bidder to go to withdraw his/her claim if he realizes he's filed prematurely.

#2 The Instant Payment PayPal buttons for our auctions -- I find this totally confusing. When I click on one, as a buyer, I'm expecting it to take me to a page where the seller's email is all filled in and ready to go, or a log-in page maybe. Instead I get to a page that says "SIGN UP NOW." Sheesh, I'm already signed up, and have to go through all kinds of calesthentics to get to the right place to pay the seller.

Thanks!

Oops, UBB glitch

Damon,

My orginal request dealt with adding a few features on the Overview and Transaction pages. You wrote:

" Can you please give me an example of how you would like to see this work? The Product team was interested in your request."

Business Account Overview (Page 1) Similar to Billpoint, include auction number along with the date of payment and the amount.

Transaction Details (Page 2) Under shipping or confirmed address; please include buyer's first and last name.

For me, having all pertinent payment and shipping information together assists me when I find it necessary to cut and paste in order to fill-in buyer's forms, i.e., thru AuctionWatch.

Thanks

Thanks

Wow, I actually have a suggestion for a change!

How about some sort of notice when you received a payment from a buyer without a verified address because they do not have/want a credit card so it's impossible for them to have a verified address? It would save me the trouble and worry of asking my buyers why they did not send a verified address (not to mention make me look like less of an ogre).

Now what's this about t-shirts? (Always looking for a freebie! )

You can look at the transaction before accepting it or declining it and see the source of the funds, if it isn't from a credit card it will say "Non-credit card fund" at the bottom of the transaction. Maybe they need to offer that info in the help somewhere.

Another easy way to track your Paypal stuff is to include it in your financial software (like MS Money). I treat it just like another bank account - and track incoming payments, outgoing payments, interest earned, and Paypal Cash Back payments. At the end of each month, I run a report in MS money and see how much I collected and spent, as well as my income from interest, and fees paid out.

BRING BACK LAST NAME VERIFICATION.

Why did Paypal remove this feature? I have more problems with wrong email sent payments now that this option was removed.

Hi Damon,

I am glad to see that Paypal is open to suggestions for improvement

My suggestion is to include BOTH the recipent's name and email address in the History log. Many times, I don't have the Seller's name, just their email address. Matching the names with the email is time consuming for me when I make so many "send money" payments. I think Seller's also could benefit from this in the History log as well.

Another suggestion I have is in concern with Customer Service. Without a doubt, it is the WORST I have encountered on the net. Long hold times, difficult to find phone numbers on website, evasive or non-responsive answers to questions posed, promises to "investigate and call back" never fulfilled, yada, yada, yada. The frustration created with such poor customer service really makes me think twice about using PayPal, and offering Paypal, as a verified Premier Business Account. I want better for my customers, and frankly, want better for myself!

For example, PP does not respond to inquiries in any specific manner when a complaint is filed or fraud investigation is initated. All I ever received were generic canned responses that did not address the issue at all! Very frustrating indeed. Good thing it was a "smaller" complaint vs. one when a lot was on the line.

Finally, it would be nice if one could obtain a .txt or .doc format of the history log vs. one using a spreadsheet format. Having this as one of the available options sure would be helpful for those that do not have spreadsheet software.

Thanks for responding to the the many of the questions posed in this forum Damon. It is appreciated and definitely valuable to us PP users.

T-shirt, please???

You already told me in another thread that you can't do this, but if your bosses want suggestions, quit taking money in peoples names that are not subscribers. The more someone trys to cram something down my throat, the more stuborn I get about not taking it. The stupid emails telling me I have money and all I have to do is sign up is not the way to convince me you are a company I want to do business with. I've never been "billpointed" against my will, I've never been c2it'ed against my will, and even bidpay sends a "warning" email that gives the seller a chance to cancel before the funds are charged to a customers CC. Why are you the only payment service that does this?

Hi microbes,

The payments, unless they are claimed by the receiving account, are still the property of the sender. These payments, even if you receive notification, are not yours unless you have an account (claiming them). The sender can reverse the payment before you claim them and we are only sending notification if an end user tries to make a payment to you.

I realize if I don't claim them, they still belong to the sender, but the card IS debited, and making SOME people understand why the card is debited and I am not paid is sometimes hard to do. (for the same reason people try to pay me like this I guess. Lack of reading skills ???)

It really does "throw a monkey wrench" into some of MY transactions.

Damon, I realize that you don't set the policies of the company you work for, and from what I see, I truly think you do try to help people as much as you can, and sometimes your "hands are tied", but I really don't see how your company can justify getting in to the middle of one of MY transactions when I don't subscribe to your service. This is akin to having someone in my shop grabing a check out of the hands of one of my customers, and them telling me if I will pay them a fee, they will give it to me. Sure, I could straighten it out by having the customer stop payment on the check, and writing me another one, but WHY should I have to in the first place?

If you would, just pass my thoughts on to your bosses.
